Like the other reviewers, I ordered a hardcopy of the book I wanted, but received a link and told that: 1/ a hardcopy was not available; and 2/ no refund was possible.
I contested the company’s response and refund policy, pointing out that:
1/ the website still showed even at the time of dispute that the book I had ordered was only available as a hardcopy, ie, there was no soft copy alternative; and
2/ the company’s refund policy states under section 5:
“ Faulty or Incorrect Items:
– If an item is … materially different from its description, please contact support@ rilonson.uk or call +44 844 986 4995 within a reasonable time of discovery. We will provide remedies in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including … full refund (including original and return postage).”

I also registered a disputed transaction with my credit card company, forwarding a copy of the correspondence to them.
Net, net, through persistency and likely looping in my credit card company, I received a full refund.
Be persistent, keep correspondence, copy in your card company.

Do not buy from this company. Like everyone else I ordered what was clearly stated as a hardback book. When I was sent a link for an e-book I complained and was simply told I’d bought an e-book. I complained again but was told they do not give refunds. I then said I was going to report them to Trading Standards as their marketing was misleading - and was immediately offered a refund. The refund came after about 3 days. But I still reported them to Trading Standards.

Scam website. I bought 2 hard books but was instead sent links supposedly ti books.

Like everyone else scammed with a download rather that physical copy, I actually got upset yesterday when they answered my email telling me it was a download, I thought id made a mistake, as it was a Christmas present, now I'm just mad. Having read the reviews I have just sent another email saying I am going to report them, mabie I will get a refund, I will let you know the result.

Like everyone else that where misled by this site - nowhere does it indicate that the only thing they sell is eBooks.

All the language and ordering process talks about 'real' books. The only place where it does mention a digital ebook is that you have the option to specify a digital copy instead of a hard copy, but the default is hard copy.

It compounds the lie by taking a delivery address from you (which is replaying in the placed order - despite them including the download link. Why include an address if you are already providing a link to the book?).

Stay well clear unless you really do want an ebook.

Purchased hardback book. No confirmation emails. Tel number dead, customer service email told I brought e book. They won’t refund. Absolute scam

Same as all the other reviews - website says hardcover format, no book arrived and when I contacted them they insisted I had ordered an ebook. After several emails back and forth, I said I would report them to trading standards/consumer service after which they offered a refund which is still to arrive. DO NOT USE, ABSOLUTE SCAM AND SCUM.

The company needs to be very transparent about what it is selling as it advertises hard backed books but sends you a download link, This is wrong and misleading.

Do not buy from this company. I thought I was buying a hardcover book but no. They claim they sent a link but they didn't even do that and have now stopped replying to me

Same experience as all others, ebook received and trying to get refund. Feel I have been scammed. I ordered hardback from Amazon instead and received it next day, cost £3 more, but hey I got an actual book in time for Christmas. I would say this website was set up to cash in on Christmas. Full marks for clever marketing, but surely against the law.

They advertise the books as hardback but send you a Download version, the customer care is shocking, the email reply is the same everytime just saying this is a download, not actually dealing with the issue. Threatened them with Trading Standards and Which magazine. Got the refund. Avoid them.

Update- after a few emails saying i will report them, i have now received a refund. I have reported to consumer advice / trading standards as there will be many people who do not know their rights and are being scammed and not given a refund. I urge you to do the same. Rilonson have now changed their website format to offer hardcover and ebook, but both are the same price and the confirmation doesn't tell you what you have purchased. I imagine this is another ploy to trick customers into thinking they have made a mistake when ordering and picked the wrong format.

As the others have said, this company is scamming people. I bought a book advertised as hardcover, and they sent me a download link! Their telephone number is premium rate, and after ringing you are greeted with an automated service which tells you they cannot answer your call, but email instead. Initial email response was that no refund can be given as all sales are final. Since then emails are being ignored. Total crooks!

As with others, ordered what I thought was a hardback book. When I chased for delivery, I was advised I had ordered an ebook.

Avoid at all costs. Have threatened Trading Standards and quoted Consumer Rights act of 2015, awaiting response.

I've had the same experience as everyone else here.

Waited a week for the "Hardcopy" book with "free delivery" to arrive. I emailed them as it had not turned up for them to tell me that I purchased an eBook.

The book is not advertised as an eBook anywhere on their website and even states it's a hard copy.

No refund yet but I would advise you avoid this website.

Bought a book advertised as 'hardback' with 'free shipping'. Got sent a download code. Didn't use it but they still refused a refund. Seems worryingly like a scam website.

I purchased a book that was advertised as a hardback physical copy. After the item did not arrive, customer services confirmed that they only supply e-books, despite the listing clearly stating “hardback” at the time of purchase.

I did not knowingly purchase a digital version, and this was not clearly indicated during checkout. When I tried to resolve the issue, I was repeatedly asked to provide the same order details many times, with no progress toward a refund.

Prospective customers should be aware that this company does not supply physical books, and the listing is misleading.

Same as all other reviewers, purchased what I understood was a hardcopy, when failed to arrive contacted Rilonson who told me I had ordered an ebook. Hadn't! Have complained & reported the website to Police via Actionfraud site. Am hoping to get a refund but who knows.

I was refunded full amount today. Be persistent!

Wish I had read the reviews before I ordered! Became suspicious. Description said, hardcover, order confirmation said order being processed, gave shipping address, free shipping, said delivery by .......
Then I noticed the word 'download' and yes, thats all it is. No book .....
DO NOT USE
