Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere

If it let me, zero stars! They have mainly 1 star for every review. Totalling a whopping 1.4 stars average. This company has too high of rates for someone who has a perfect record & been a good long time customer. Glad I never had to put a claim in, seeing what everyone says it sounds awful. And btw, your commercials are childish, they're not funny & you have way too many of them. That actually will make people not want you for insurance needs as its simply annoying. I mean maybe a couple are funny but most just ignorant & having absolutely nothing to do with insurance!! Duh! Oh & you want 48 bucks from me 🤣 you'll be lucky if I dont sue you!

Progressive Flood insurance is garbage

I do not recommend Progressive Flood Insurance based on my claim experience after Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

The claim process was extremely slow and required repeated follow-ups over many months. Adjusters changed during the process, communication was inconsistent, and additional documentation was requested long after the flood occurred. As a policyholder, I spent significant time gathering records, making phone calls, and trying to obtain updates.

What was most frustrating was the lack of clear communication regarding claim status and requirements. The delays created additional stress while trying to repair and restore the property.

Flood insurance is purchased for peace of mind during a disaster. Unfortunately, my experience was that the claim process was difficult, time-consuming, and far slower than expected. I encourage prospective customers to carefully research claim-handling experiences, not just premium prices, before choosing a flood insurance provider. Will not consider other insurance neither when their claim is delay, deny, wait for customer to die.

I find it difficult to understand the logic behind how auto insurance claims are handled. Insurance companies often explain that premiums are influenced by factors such as where you live, driving history, and other risk assessments. As policyholders, we pay premiums year after year with the expectation that our vehicles will be repaired when an accident occurs.

However, when it comes time to file a claim, the conversation often shifts to the value of the vehicle. If the estimated repair costs exceed a certain percentage of the car's value, the vehicle may be declared a total loss rather than repaired. For many customers, this feels unfair, especially after years of faithfully paying insurance premiums.

The result is a frustrating experience where policyholders may be forced to choose between accepting a total-loss settlement or navigating the complex process of retaining a salvage vehicle. While insurers have financial and regulatory reasons for making these decisions, it can leave customers feeling as though the system prioritizes costs over the needs of the people it is supposed to protect.

As a consumer, it is disappointing to pay for coverage for years only to discover that when repairs are needed, the outcome is determined more by the vehicle's market value than by the fact that premiums have been consistently paid. This creates a perception that the system is not working in the best interests of policyholders.

Progressive coverage may be worthless after the accident

After paying my insurance premiums for many years to Progressive, I found out my coverage is worthless. On 2/12/26, Claim# 26-519416008, while driving on I-10, taking my wife to the airport, my vehicle, a Ford Explorer, was hit by a GMC truck insured by Progressive. The driver of the truck ran away. According to the investigating officer, the GMC truck was at fault in this accident. I'm a good driver, no tickets, and never had an accident where I was at fault. For almost a month, I have had a nightmare dealing with Progressive to get my vehicle repaired. On 3/10/26, almost one month after the accident, I received a letter from Hunter Wells in the claim department stating that Progressive could not find a valid coverage for the incident, and they will not be able to pay for my claim. I'm a retired auto body I-CAR, ASE-certified technician. I had already started to repair my car. This vehicle has steps, a handle, and a place for a wheelchair. My wife must have this vehicle to take her disabled mother to her doctor appointments. This vehicle is very safe to repair. I replaced the front fender and door with used parts, and they fit perfectly.
On 3/14/26, Hunter sent another letter stating the total settlement amount for my vehicle is $7,299.89. There is a catch: Progressive will salvage and keep my vehicle and sell it at the auction for a high premium. My vehicle, a Ford Explorer, was purchased new by my father-in-law. Three years ago he passed away. He made sure this car was in perfect condition the whole time he owned it. I have all the records to prove it. I have put about $5k in upgrades, including a platinum extended warranty for an additional 85,000 miles left. This vehicle has a full warranty, just like owning a new vehicle. Progressive, they know I must have this vehicle, and the only way they will pay me is if they salvage the vehicle and I surrender it to them. I researched Craigslist, Marketplace, and can't find a single similar vehicle, a Ford Explorer IronMan rare edition for sale by owner. Most other available vehicles have salvage titles, are not safe to drive, and cannot be fully insured. It's been 3+ months, and the final decision I will not receive a single penny for the damages caused by a drunk driver insured by Progressive.

I ended up losing $23,000 because…

I ended up losing $23,000 because Progressive did not pay out my claim for an accident, they claimed I did not fill out an online application properly.....I switched to Geico and saved $200 a month on my insurance & the Geico Supervisor told me they have numerous problems with their Website....I guess Progressive in flawless & they are an unethical company as far as I'm concerned, BEWARE !

I hit a deer yesterday

I hit a deer yesterday. Our claim has still not been given to an adjuster. We have uploaded our photos 4 times now and they still say they haven’t gotten them. This has been the worse experience with any auto insurance we have ever had.
This is a brand new vehicle and they still haven’t done anything.
My husband and I have both uploaded the photos and they still say they haven’t gotten gotten them

We had an auto insurance policy that literally paid nothing for an accident that was self involved.

I would have never have paid for a policy that covers nothing for an accident that was my fault and happens.

What’s the point of having insurance if it doesn’t cover damages from an accident.

Everyone should avoid Progressive Insurance.

Regressive Insurance

They rejected my EFT payment when the creditials and funds were all fine. That can happen, but then when I paid in full by CC they nevertheless sent a notice that I was now on a payment plan with a 30% rate increase. I spent an hour on the phone with no resolution from customer service. This company can't handle the 20th century let alone the 21st

Experience with representative

The representative was not at all friendly and just stuck to the script that my premium had gone up because state of Georgia has increase in accidents, more claims and an increase of the cost of living, so this means my policy is not based on my driving but on everybody else, I am 68 years young and no claims and no tickets, so, I think time to change companies, then she just hangs up on me, no thank you for calling, have a great day NOTHING !

False Cancellation Notice Caused Serious Confusion

I had a very frustrating experience with Progressive. They sent a cancellation notice to my current insurance company even though I have never had an active policy with them.

This created unnecessary confusion and could have seriously affected my coverage. When I tried to resolve the issue, there was no clear explanation or accountability for how this mistake happened.

This kind of error is concerning, especially when it involves something as important as insurance coverage. I expected better accuracy and communication.

I would not recommend Progressive based on this experience

Progressive screws you on policy changes

Watch our for policy changes with Progressive!!
If you have multiple cars on a policy with Progressive and you remove one - they INCREASE the rates ON THE CURRENT policy for the remaining cars.
Never have I seen a company increase rates on a car that the policy has already been paid in full because something else has changed.
I removed a car 3 days after my renewal date and they kept $150 of what I had just paid.

Unfair Fault Decision and Poor Follow-up

I had a disappointing experience with Progressive following a recent auto claim.

This involved a minor backing collision in a residential neighborhood. I provided clear video evidence and fully cooperated throughout the process. Despite both vehicles being in reverse and the other driver backing from an intersection, Progressive assigned 100% fault to me based on a very narrow interpretation of the final seconds before impact.

What was more concerning was the lack of responsiveness during escalation. I requested a supervisor review and made multiple follow-ups but did not receive a timely response, which made the process frustrating and one-sided.

While the claim was processed, I expected a more balanced liability assessment and better communication. The overall experience left me feeling that once an initial decision is made, there is very limited willingness to reassess, even when additional context is available.

I would recommend that others be prepared for strict liability interpretations and ensure they document everything carefully when dealing with claims.

The decision did not appear to adequately consider shared responsibility, which is concerning in situations involving multiple moving vehicles

Let me start by saying if I can rate lower than 1 star I would. Progressive southeastern ins. is terrible with helping with a claim,at first they were helpful but soon as they got the accident report and found out their customer was at fault they turned into the worse company to deal with everything was abt saving there company money,they tried to make me carry my vehicle to the place they wanted me to go ,,then get a car rental was the worse they only deal with there network of companies they cater to so they can save every dollar,, they set up my vehicle to be moved to a body shop at the end of the day the agent did not see if it was moved (and it wasnt) so more delays....everytime I talked to the agent abt claim the agent all she wanted to do is( save money ) thts all she was studying,, after she was in meetings for 6 hrs a day when honestly her voicemail said she was available from 8 to 5pm but never got her on the phone til after 1pm .I got harassing emails after emails until I finally told her I was advised not to talk to her anymore threw my legal team..Please is you have any claims against Progressive southeast in the future Let a lawyer and your own insurance company tht insures you fight it out because this company is abt saving there money instead of fixing or helping you in a bad situation (Geico insurance got more accomplished in 1hr then the so called agent got done at Progressive in 3 days) Geico the best..oh by the way lyndall was the worse agent ive ever dealt with from progressive southeastern so if you deal with her (lyndall) good luck she very liberal left wing type person

I had a home insurance claim in 2025…

I had a home insurance claim in 2025 and Katie Smail helped make a a bad situation on a storm bearable. She worked well with me and the contactors and my home was done as fast as the contractors could get it done. There was no hassles and it all went smoothly. Thank you progressive claims dept.

Stingy with claims

We bundle auto & home with Progressive but are researching changing our insurance company.
A few months ago we had a bad hail/wind storm here in western CO. A lot of roofs were damaged & a lot of our neighbors have had to replace their roofs. Our roof also was damaged - less than some, more than others - but out of all the homes in our immediate neighborhood, ours was the ONLY one denied coverage for a new roof. And we're the only family insured by Progressive.
Homeowner's insurance is expensive, more so every year, & this is the only claim we've made with Progressive in the nine years we've lived in this house. Progressive alone, out of all the companies insuring homes in our neighborhood, denied our claim for partial payment of a new roof. Which tells me that we need to look elsewhere for fair, trustworthy coverage.

What a ripoff!

They are good at collecting premiums, but poor at paying claims. There is a huge lack of communication with the company. They refuse to pay the claim saying my son was not covered by policy.

Worse Car Insurance in the market!

Let me start by saying that progressive is one of the worse insurance compacies you can be with! one of his clients hit my car last month i had pictures of the guy that hit me also a police report and lot of pictures of his car & my car as well! they said they will investigate and send someone over to check my car! the lady came over and verified my car was hit by his car and told me she saw where he hit my car and the insurance comapny was going to take care of the claim 26-567310521. i got a message today by text, they didnt even bother to call me! says this! rememeber they had all pictures of the damge of my car their cliets car and all that! they told me they needed a video to prove he damaged my car!! for reals! i also sent them 3 videos of the guy coming back to my office to check the car out and took off! he did that for a week after the accident.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
