I have 1996 F350 with the E4OD…
I have 1996 F350 with the E4OD transmission. I installed the first transmission following all their requirements, which was a new cooler and lines. Even put in a gauge pillar with a trans temp gauge just to protect the new unit. After having to fix 2 different stripped out holes, I got it installed. Unit lasted a week after driving it back and forth to work. Roughly, 300 miles and the torque converter failed causing it to overheat on a longer trip and leaving me stranded. They warrantied that unit. Second unit came in and it was a 1990 case with at least a 96 solenoid pack. I questioned it. The said it was fine. I also had to chase threads on this unit. After install and getting my brand new cooler and lines flushed, the unit hung up in first, short shifted second to lug the truck down in third. After waiting a month, the warranty dept contacted me. I towed to a shop, paid a diagnostic fee, then had to take it home, sent pictures, sent videos of the failure to have them weasel out the warranty. They tried to claim the gauge pod, the tuner, and the 3" downpipe caused their transmission to not work. The problem is, the gauges affect nothing. I do not have tuner, they made that up. And the 3" downpipe if far from anything that will cause a transmission to fail. They used a BS loophole to NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I guess a free flowing exhaust will put too much load on the transmission. Good thing I didn't try to tow anything with my diesel truck. $3,000 down the drain. Thanks for nothing
Can't do business with them any longer
We are a VERY small repair shop, and so far Powertrain owes us for THREE warranty claims, on which they've made ZERO payment. We have been buying from them for years, but after this Ford truck engine failed before the customer even came to pick it up from having it replaced, we aren't using them anymore. They owe us about $3,800.00 and we're way too small to absorb open invoices like that.
When I email, no responds regarding payment. When I call, no one answers the phone (I've now been on hold for 50 minutes). When I choose the "keep your place in line and we'll call you back" option, they call me and send me to voice mail!

I had a very frustrating experience with Powertrain. I submitted all of the documentation they requested for my warranty reimbursement claim under invoice #568812, and I was told that everything needed had been received. Despite that, I was still given the runaround and payment was not issued. I sent more than 15 follow-up emails and made multiple attempts to get a clear answer, but I still did not receive timely resolution. My issue was not missing paperwork — it was the lack of follow-through after the claim file was complete. Based on my experience, customer service and warranty claim handling were very disappointing.

i have been purchasing my truck products through powertrain plus for a few years now and have ever had any issues with product, staff or store. i've always had great success whenever dealing with Powertrain. Speedy delivery of parts. My trucks run great without issue. warranties always guaranteed. i wish more places were like them. Thank You for always making our truck issues your priority.

The real issue has been their warranty process.
We submitted a $400 labor warranty claim in August 2025. The claim was approved, yet as of March 2026 we still have not been paid. For months we have received nothing but delays and the runaround.
For a company that supplies parts to repair shops, failing to pay an approved warranty claim for over 7 months is unacceptable.
As a small business, we rely on vendors to stand behind their products and honor their commitments. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience with Powertrain Products.
Hopefully this review encourages them to finally resolve the claim.
Purchase was some other than powertrain.
I Purchased a 460 long block and shortly after install the rear main seal started leaking. Reached out for warranty information and was told they would pay 7.9 hours at 100.00 an hour. Its a two piece seal that requires engine removal. The quote that I got is for 1600 plus tax. I even purchase a extended warranty for this motor. Find somewhere else to purchase a motor from because if you need warranty work done you're screwed.
For your own sanity please avoid Powertrain Products at all costs
Let me preface this by saying I never publicly criticize a business, or company, online or on social media. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and typically am a patient and understanding guy. That being said, my patience with Powertrain Products has ended.
To be frank, Power Products is a deceptive and dishonest company. I cannot underscore enough that you should avoid purchasing any products from Powertrain Products, given my experience. 3 engines, 3 warranty claims, 2 approved warranty reimbursements, one warranty reimbursement still unpaid( 9 months and counting). I've reached my breaking point.
I purchased my initial remanufactured (I'm on #3) 3.6 Pentastar engine for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK for $5668.00 in May of 2024. I also purchased an upgraded warranty coverage at the same time.
My first warranty claim was 23 miles after the engine installation. It was pouring oil out from the oil cooler. The problem was the oil cooler sent with the new engine. No big deal, things happen. Powertrain Products agreed to a part and installation reimbursement of $495. It took 9 months to finally receive my check from Powertrain Products. I would call maybe once a week, then bi-weekly, and was told the same excuse every time: The warranty claim reimbursement is being processed. Accounting has the information and we are waiting for them to mail the check.
The 1st engine I received from Powertrain Products failed in April of 2025 at approximately 50k miles. I went through the warranty claim(#2) process again: sending codes, requested pictures and videos, etc. Powertrain Products sent another engine(#2) to my mechanic for installation. After inspecting my initial remanufactured engine, and determining the failure was on their end, Powertrain Products agreed to reimburse me for a portion of the labor. A total of $1,650. That reimbursement was approved in late June to early July of 2025. As of March 1st 2026, I still have not received my reimbursement check of $1,650 from Powertrain Products. Like the first warranty claim I made anytime I call to ask for an update on the claim reimbursement, the individuals I speak with can only tell me the reimbursement for my warranty claim is being processed and waiting for accounting accounting to send out the check. I have left a few voicemails with supervisors as well and have yet to receive a call back. I've also asked if Powertrain Products has direct deposit but was told they do not have the ability to do that.
The 2nd engine I received from Powertrain Products failed at just 2,226 miles. Oil starvation do to clogged oil passages. The block had not not been thoroughly cleaned during the remanufacturing process. I found pieces of a timing chain guide in the oil pan as well. I have attached photos to my review. Another warranty claim(#3), another engine. This time I did the engine installation myself. I did a thorough inspection of engine #3, and am glad I did. This block is much cleaner internally for the most part. My issue is the quality of aftermarket parts Powertrain Products uses to remanufacture their engines. I looked up the part numbers I could find. Based on the information I found the quality parts used are poor to mid-range at best. The company who manufactures the pistons refers to them as use in a "budget friendly" build. The timing chain components are made overseas. Other parts I couldn't find the company information or part number for whatsoever. Any reputable company that charges almost $5,700 for an engine should not use substandard parts.
Overall, my experience with Powertrain Products has been by far the worst I've dealt with, both in quality and customer service. I've ordered remanufactured engines and transmissions from other companies in the past and have never had issues like I've experienced with Powertrain Products. I hope my cautionary tale helps whoever reads this review.

Would leave a -1 star if I could. Send me a faulty transmission and it failed immediately after install with 0 miles on it, went through the warranty process and they have been taking their time no rush at all.
They are paying out 1/3 of what it costs to have a transmission installed and weren’t willing to work with me or help me in any way at all. I run an auto shop and I’m deep in the hole because of them. Will never do business or recommend anyone else does.

I ordered a rear differential, charged for a front differential and caught hell getting a return label to send the wrong part back. Got the runaround 7 weeks, finally got the money back after nearly 2 months.
WILL NEVER USE THE COMPANY EVER AGAIN, AND SUGGEST NOONE DOES. HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!!!
Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company. They don't honor their own agreements. This is not a reputable company. They'll keep you busy searching for different documents and will never be satisfied. They always have a different excuse to avoid taking responsibility. Stay away and don't lose your money.

BAD COMPANY. Purchased a transmission 8/18/25 lasted 30 days and the run around with powertrain employee was a big game. They lie and you can’t be smartass cause they say you just said… well play the recording of our phone call and you will see that nothing was ever said about price for warranty work. 1/26/26 when Dan said about you just said the 2.6hrs was cause that is what I was being told with the last few calls to powertrain on 1/19/26, 1/26/26 Derrick and 1/26/26 from Dan. I could go on without my book but I want to stay short so everybody takes there business elsewhere.
So if you type something in search bar please don’t buy from powertrain. They will pop up cause I hear it’s about the way they pay for advertising. We type in Jasper transmission and did check into before buying cause life stuff was going on. DAN from powertrain equals headache plus I can attach email stating he messed up 10 days later from being told that a replacement part was sent. If you send email you get no response.
I also contacted the BBB about this company and was told that they needed the bad part to inspect which the garage put a return label on and i dropped off to ups 11/14/25. This part went to TRANSTAR and not powertrain which at the time was told they don’t deal with TRANSTAR but DAN just said that is where he ordered the part from. So whoever responded to BBB lady lied to her. Which an also sent email to DAN about where the replacement part came from and to this day was never answered.
WHY DID THE TRANSMISSION LAST 30 days it’s because the way the vehicle was driven….per DAN ON 1/26/26. Come on 217015 miles on factory transmission
I can’t even let my daughter drive the car cause of it breaking down on her late at night while coming home from college/work.

Purchase price 4178.94 plus 436.72 for 30 warranty work. I got 155.00 from powertrain for a 3yr warranty. So sick.

I bought a 3.6l Pentastar remanufactured motor for a Jeep Wrangler. The first 3 motors were sent with the same issue, cam bearing failure. They refused to refund my money and instead sent a 4th motor from another vendor. This one worked but now they owe me for my labor that is over 120 days out and will not provide any time for payment, over $3000. This has been going on since February 2025 and management does not speak with customers.
Bought a transmission for my 2018 Chevy…
Bought a transmission for my 2018 Chevy Silverado. Well the mechanic shop got it for me through them and it has only been 6 months it is under Warranty. If that is what you want to call it. But the shop has had my vehicle for 2 months now trying to get it fixed. They have sent many emails and many videos. They were told that they were going to send out an inspector that NEVER comes. Then they ask for another video. IT is ridiculous, just want my vehicle back that is all I want. NIGHTMARE! Don't buy from them if you have not already!
Never again
Install kit did not all come at same time. Parts were missing or defective. Took a long time to get. No core credit issued, no reimbursement for defective and missing parts. Months worth of back and forth e-mails with nothing resolved. Even took forever to get paperwork for core return! Began in November and still on-going!

I purchased a 3.8 for my 2008 jeep…
I purchased a 3.8 for my 2008 jeep wrangler in September of this year and it started leaking oil within 200 miles, I purchased the warranty along with the engine replacement kit,5000.00 +. Now they are denying my claim saying I didn't go through the proper process with my claim, my mechanic found 2 different leaks 850.00. but it's still leaking, so I filled another claim and the warranty department told me to put UV dye in the motor which I did, now with a UV flashlight oil is clearly visible over the bottom end of the engine. So I sent pictures and jumped through all the hoops they asked for, just received a email that my mechanic is responsible for the leaks and they are not going to make it right.

Bad product, customer service and warranty!
The company delivered a bad transmission from the very beginning. I had my 2005 Jeep in a shop that has been in business for over 50 years. They installed the new transmission but could not deliver it to me because of a massive leak. I had to reach out to Powertrain's warranty department for help with resolving my issue. The shop had to remove the new transmission and replace a part that Powertrain recommended first, which they did and it still leaked. It wasn't until then that Powertrain sent me a new transmission. I had to pay the shop for basically three installs and uninstalls. This was in April and Powertrain still has not resolved my claim for all the extra labor I had to pay the shop for their bad transmission. I will never spend another dime with that company, nor would I ever recommend them to even my worst enemy! For all of us who have been ripped off by this company, we should come together and hire an attorney who will file a class action lawsuit against this criminal.

If I could get 0 stars I would. Do not use this company. They are thieves. I purchased an engine from them and the engine didn’t even make it to its 2nd. Oil change.( 4000 ) miles. I purchased the no fault warranty and they are not reimbursing me for labor cost for the 2nd engine replacement. After many emails and phone calls still no response and it’s been 6 months. I paid for a warranty that Powertrain Products inc. is not honoring after they approved it which is theft and fraud. I am no filing a lawsuit against this company and also (after seeing all the reviews in which this company has stolen money from many other customers by collecting money for warranties and not honoring them) I am contacting the local and States Attorneys offices seeking Grand Jury Indictments for theft and fraud against the companies owner.I will not rest until these people are held accountable.Brian Hickox.2005 Ford f-150
