Excellent from start to finish, we had new windows and composite door. Salesman, Glenn, very friendly and not pushy at all. We were updated by the office team at every stage. Fitters very efficient, spotlessly clean, very professional, a credit to the company. We would definitely recommend Polar Bear Windows. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I originally placed an order for a new Composite front door early June. I was told it can take 6 to 8 weeks to have the door manufactured and delivered by the surveyor which was fine by me.
The door was fitted today by a very experienced fitter, he was done in under 2 hours and did an outstanding job, I really can't fault the workmanship, very clean and professional.
The doors not bad either, looks good in white.

ENQUIRED ABOUT GETTING A NEW DOOR FITTED. MENTIONED THEY MAY ALREADY HAVE THE MEASUREMENTS AS A SITE VISIT WAS CONDUCTED A WHILE AGO.

SHE THEN REPEATED WHAT ID SAID. ASKING TO CLARIFY.

We needed a french door fitted quite urgently, as ours was completely broken - Polar Bear came out to give a quote same day, the Surveyor came the following week and the doors were fitted 3 1/2 weeks later.
I cannot fault their service.

I am not going to waste any time writing a long review on this company. Suffice to say it took them eight months to complete the installation of two standard doors. When I enquired about compensation I was told 'we don't offer any'. By chance, someone in my close also had their windows replaced by this company. As part of that job, the fitters were supposed to replace two 'misted' units in the conservatory as well. Instead they replaced two good units. I am pleased to say that I persuaded two friends to change their minds about getting a quote from this company.

*Edit* I was leaving a review about another company and noticed Polar Bear Windows disingenuous reply to my review. Here's just some of the 'few little bits' that they refer to:
1. It didn't take 'up to 12 weeks' to manufacture the front door but it did turn up without the letterbox that I'd ordered. The fitters joked that the lads at the factory (in south Wales apparently, not in Bristol as I had previously been led to believe) must have had a 'heavy night'.
2. The back door wouldn't close using the key but one of the fitters helpfully demonstrated that if I pressed my foot hard against the bottom of the door and pushed, it would lock. Initially I was told over the telephone that the door was probably faulty and I was asked to send in photographs of various areas of the frame and locks. Weeks later a fitter found that the door had in fact been fitted incorrectly. Two years later and it is still hard to lock.
3. The paint on the back door hadn't fully cured and stuck to the door seal.
4. I was told by the surveyor that I didn't need a high threshold for the front door. A low threshold was fitted and now the door drags on the door mat and cannot be raised any higher.
5. In common with other reviewers, fitters would turn up to do repairs but their office hadn't told them what the faults were. One good point is that the two older fitters were much more professional that the younger ones who did the initial fitting.
6. The surveyor told me that the front doorbell wire would be kept but that disappeared under the new frame.
7. The remaining balance wasn't paid because I was still waiting for Polar Bear Windows to repair the paintwork on the back door. In the end I asked them to send me the paint and I did it myself.

The neighbours who initially recommended Polar Bear Windows have apologised profusely but it wasn't their fault; they made the recommendation on price before actually having their windows fitted.

Finally, not a Polar Bear Windows issue as it is down to the design, but the new front door is no warmer than the previous wooden one. It has three large glass squares, each with a thick stainless steel surround. Those surrounds conduct heat into the house in summer (becoming so hot that you shouldn't touch them) and are very cold in the winter. Consequently the area around the door is now hotter in summer and colder in winter than it was before. It is though nice and bright.

We had windows and front door fitted by Polar Bear. the experience from requesting a visit for a quotation to the installation was absolutely first class, The surveyor was prompt and helpful, the fitters were very efficient and even vacuumed all the carpets when finished. The installation of the front door was unfortunately delayed due to the rejection of the door as it was deemed to be sub-standard, But the replacement was fine. A good friendly company, easy to deal with and very good products at a reasonable price.

We have had a new door fitted by Polar Bear Windows, and the service was quick and reliable. The new door was installed just before the cold weather arrived, which was a very pleasant surprise as we were expecting an installation date in January. Would definitely use PBW again!

We went with Polar Bear Windows as the reviews online seemed positive. We were having our whole house (twelve windows) and a front door, back door and patio doors. The job was supposed to last four days, in June. It was eventually finished at the end of November.

We experienced issues from Day 1, when the fitters showed up and told us most of the glass was not ready, and they would only be able to fit a few windows on Day 1, but the job would remain on schedule. However, on Day 2, the fitters arrived and told us that although the glass was now ready, a strap had broken in thier van and most of the glass they were supposed to be fitting had either chipped, cracked or smashed. This was still fitted and left in place for months whilst the glass was remade/ The glass being replaced left scratches and gouges on the frames and beading of pretty much every window.

Mess was left in the garden and on the roof for months. It was eventually cleared after We repeatedly asked.

The bedroom window was incorrectly labelled as lounge, and as the old window had already been removed in the bedroom, it was forced into place, breaking the frame in the process. The glass therefore did not match the window frame so it was siliconed into place with bits of trim to fill gaps. The fitters came back to re-fit the remade window following this mistake, but the wrong window had been remade!

The glass, frames, sills and trims were left around our house and in the garage for months as various things like the glass which had been smashed and the window which was incorrectly labelled were remade, which caused a great inconvenience with navigating around them.

A number of the windows had the wrong sills supplied, which lead to windows needing to be refitted. Removing, replacing and refitting the window, and the refitting of all smashed glass left further scratches and gouges in the frame and beading.

The fitters came around four to five times to repair or replace various issues, and had brought the wrong item e.g. bevelled beading not flat beading.

Five pieces of our picture rail were disposed of by the fitters, and when we raised the issue, it was ignored for months. When it was eventually addressed, they refused to fully pay for the damage, instead offering a good will gesture. Our wooden window sill has also been left with a large section removed, which was ignored.

The office staff are uncommunicative and rude, and I would not recommend using this company.

Friendly and easy to deal with. Didn't feel pressured to buy. Rosie in the office was really helpful, the chaps who fitted the doors were neat, tidy and respectful and I'm really pleased with the finished product. Thank you!

Service, quality, and look of the new windows are great.

Terrible customer service; arrogant, rude and unprofessional. Used them before for a whole house (fair price but installation needed some correction) so thought we’d get a quote for new house. Enquired 3 times to get a quote for new house and heard nothing back. They say they called me back once but I’ve heard nothing. Essentially, if you want a quote, as the customer you’d best be prepared to make the effort to chase them as it seems they neither want nor need the work. As a result, we’ll go with another local supplier instead now. Oh well, their loss - especially as we may have considered using them for a large business job later in the year had they been more professional & proactive and done a good job. Certainly won’t be recommending them to anyone else now either.
