Just awful from start to finish
Just awful from start to finish
I was looking for some acrylic to replace broken glass in a large picture frame. I thought I would replace it with acrylic as it would be far easier to handle and much safer. After shopping around, I found plasticsheetshop.co.uk. They offered good prices and as it wasn’t urgent, I was happy to wait the week or so they quoted for delivery. I placed the order and eventually got a dispatch confirmation. A few days after that a large, pink package arrived and when I saw it my heart sank. It had very clearly been dropped on the corners (despite the fragile labels on it). Sure enough the acrylic sheet was damaged with snapped corners and a crack right across the sheet. The packaging was very flimsy and, in my opinion, not fit for purpose. However, I was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt and went through their damages procedure and a new sheet was dispatched.
Three days later a rather sorry looking package turned up, this time it was clearly been bent in half. Sheet was broken. New damage claim, new sheet dispatched.
Number three rocks up, no change. Despite me informing Plasticsheetshop that the packaging wasn’t sufficient for the sheet of acrylic, they just ignored me and carried on sending it out the same way. Finaly arrived, snapped and crushed……. I report the damage, they resend the sheet…..
….. and yes, this one too. Broken. It wasn’t even packaged properly and half of it was hanging out of the packaging. I really don’t know what they were expecting to happen? If it arrived three times damaged, would you not think of a way to prevent it happening again? I think I was more than patient giving them four chances and even though I told them what the problem was, they just ignored it and continued to send out packages that were almost guaranteed to get damaged in transit. They refunded my money after demanding multiple photos of the damage which I had already sent.
I did a bit of Googling and found an alternative supplier (cutmy) who were more than happy to send out a sheet of acrylic which arrived yesterday, properly packaged, intact and ready to use. I really don’t understand how plasticsheetshop could get it so wrong, but they did. Personally, I would avoid them at all costs. They are based in the UK but operating out of The Netherlands, they don’t care about a good customer experience and there are plenty of alternative suppliers who will give you a far better service.

I needed the plastic sheet to replace broken glass in my greenhouse, so accurate cutting was essential. The ordering process was easy, it arrived a day earlier than expected and fit perfectly. So,very pleased with the overall service from Plasticsheetshop.

Dimension error made on ordering.
The product arrived on schedule and was in good condition on delivery. The dimensions were all as planned. The protective film was badly marked and may in some parts have scratched the surface. This is no major problem but spoilt the finish. I made a dimension error on ordering as my laser measurer doesn’t seem to like operating horizontally, 0.7cm too wide! I now have to find a way to correct my error. Should be fun!
