Handled without a hitch, significantly higher transfer amount and effectively next day receipt of funds, could not fault the process

As a first-time user, my experience with OFX was deeply frustrating and stressful. Their platform has a severe design flaw: it fails to provide a clear, unmistakable warning that clicking the final 'Confirm' button will instantly bind you to a high-value financial contract with absolutely no grace period or secondary confirmation.

I was on call with their new user setup staff when I realized the mistake (during the call) and immediately explained (almost instant) to their staff which I was talking at the time: it was an accidental click while exploring the platform, the representative showed zero empathy. Instead, they used aggressive and intimidating language, threatening me with a hefty "market loss penalty" if I didn't proceed. I ultimately felt forced to complete the transfer under duress just to avoid their threatened fees.

It feels like their UI is intentionally designed to trap new users, and their customer service team acts more like debt collectors than support staff. I am seriously considering escalating this to AFCA (Australian Financial Complaints Authority) so they are forced to fix this predatory process. I am sure I am not the only one falling into this trap.

Do yourself a favor: avoid the stress and use Wise or Interactive Brokers instead. They are far more transparent and user-friendly.

Other company's were an extra obstacles to open account with them. OFX with their security questions was easier to work with. Also unlike other company's I am able to use EMT as a payment.

These guys are scammers. They just want your identification and tax documents and then they disappear. If you need to send money, use Wise, paypal, xoom or honestly even Western Union is better than these frauds. You can tell the positive reviews are fake and a quick look at their linkedin shows all fake photos too. Even their San Francisco address is fake, i checked out the building and there is no such office there.

If I could give no stars I would. Staff were unhelpful and couldn’t handle difficult situations. They couldn’t instruct me on how to send money to my preferred destination, and provided intentional delayed responses when I asked for my money back. The user experience is terrible - the site is not intuitive or helpful at all. It’s not the high standards of self service that customers have become accustomed to. Stick to western union everyone - they know what they are doing.

OFX is a joke. These guys really put in a lot of time and effort to pass off as legit but with a little more digging, you can see all their “glowing” reviews and office photos are all just a facade. There is no reason why they need your passport, video recording??, tax documents, just to send a payment. They are communicative up until you upload your documents and then they’ll disappear, just like your money will if you put it in their hands. Do yourself a favor and use wise.com or remitly or PayPal or xoom instead!! Also, it’s funny how most of their good reviews have the “invited” label, that’s because OFX are manually sending review requests most likely to their own people so they can manipulate or add fake reviews.

Transfers of funds are always made in a timely manner with very low fees.
I am very satisfied with the service provided.
Customer service, when needed, is very professionnal and helpful .

Quick, easy, efficient and the money was send and received the very same day. Better rates than current exchange places. Should have thought of this sooner

I have been with OFX for about 15 or 16 years, and all of a sudden I need to send a video of myself to confirm who I am? WHAT?!! No, that is NOT going to happen. I went through all of the verification questions, but apparently that is no longer good enough! Well, goodbye OFX. There are other companies with better rates, and I have only stayed with OFX out of a sense of loyalty. Not any more!!!
