A very unwieldy and stressful process
A very unwieldy and stressful process. I had adequate life assurance cover but because it was a whole of life policy, it took ages (and a lot more grey hairs), before they accepted it. After satisfying all the conditions eventually, I had to wait three business days before drawdown. Only for I had an excellent broker, I would probably have gone elsewhere. Hopefully they will improve in time!

We have reviewed your case and can see that your existing whole-of-life policies were initially queried because no policy term was shown. As whole-of-life policies do not have a fixed term, we recognise that this initial query should not have been raised and apologise for the unnecessary delay.
Further information was subsequently required to complete our assessment of the existing policies, including the relevant policy schedules and up-to-date benefit statements. We appreciate that the overall process felt more cumbersome than it should have.
Once all drawdown conditions have been satisfied, our standard notice period for all mortgage drawdowns is three working days. This allows us to complete the necessary final checks and arrange the release of funds.
We are pleased to hear that your broker supported you throughout the process, and we appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve our customer experience.
