I think this class took way too long
I think this class took way too long. Easy and insightful but it shouldn't take this long to complete this course. Some topics only took a few minutes to read but the holding time was far too long. I would reevaluate the times. It should be cut down to at least 3 hours.

It couldn't have been easier to get set up and started a couple days later. They were very helpful with answering a question I had before hand and less than 5 hours of effort later, I was done. Not that I plan on getting another ticket, but if I do, I'm comin right back here! Thank you!

Problems with class:
First section asks you to make lifestyle choices without giving you time to make choices.
"The fact is if you drive ten miles at 65 mph instead of 55, you'll get where you are going about two minutes sooner." Only works if you are driving 13 miles.
Incomplete information on passing on the right. Does not state that passing on the right is legal on a road with two or more lanes of traffic moving in each direction.
Statistics are not always up to date. For example, the statistic for pedestrian deaths is 11 years old, half of current rates.
Time required to progress to next section is too long (e.g. Knowing Your Vehicle). I'd rather have more material than to sit there and wait.
Incorrectly worded test questions. "Many people believe that as long as they're not impaired, overtired, or careless, speeding can hurt them."
Mistatement of facts. "Alcohol can be blamed for ..." rather than "Alcohol is associated with ..."
"Actual driver reaction time when operating a motor vehicle on the roadway is 1.5 seconds during daylight hours and 2.5 seconds at night." Per their instruction, driver reaction time is a function of a multitude of factors.

The overall experience was good
The overall experience was good, but I did find a number of errors as your data related to motorcycles was either out of date, or errant "common knowledge". An example of the latter is the statement that motorcycles can stop faster that automobiles. This is patently wrong. No vehicle can stop quicker that a 1G stopping force (just plain physics) and only a professional motorcycle rider on a race-quality motorcycle with warm tires can even approach that, and that is if he can control a "stoppie". Motorcycles have a small contact patch on each of two wheels and a car as 4 much larger contact patches in proportion to the total weight being stopped. Too many motorcycle riders believe this myth and that is the reason that in the vast majority of motorcycle/Auto rear end collisions the motorcycle is the STRIKING vehicle. The best example of being incorrect I emailed directly to your office on 6/22. It is regarding OAR 814.200 that was changed about a decade ago when I was in my tenure on the governors advisory committee for motorcycle safety. We made it legal to stand astride of a motorcycle.

Excellent Experience
Excellent experience - One of the few online NT Defensive Driving Courses that I could find which would accept a Canadian License (I got a speeding ticket while in the US on business).
During initial registration the online form wouldn't accept my license number format...called their help desk and got through to someone instantaneously and without wait. The lady I spoke to was absolutely amazing - registered me for the course over the phone and explained the multitude of security features they have in place to ensure the relevant person is taking the course.
Course itself was very informative and well laid out and the questions after each section were suitably challenging...not impossible but certainly not easy either.
Highly recommend NTSI - they were brilliant!
