They state on their website they will "beat the price" of a competitor and they simply do not beat the price. They only offer to match the price. They state they will BEAT the price. Matching is not beating. Also the woman on the phone was insanely rude to me immediately and just generally unpleasant and unprofessional. If NTSI is reading this you can review the phone call 10/24/25 1:08pm pst. She stated that “beating a price” is an “idiom/saying” and beating a price doesn’t mean a lower price. lol I don’t think a traffic school employee has the privilege of changing the generally understood definitions of words in American English.
I reported them to the BBB and will be reporting them for misleading advertising to the FTC when the government reopens.
EDIT: I appreciate the prompt reply and the free course. I just want to state for the record that I did not fabricate or even exaggerate any of my interaction with the customer service woman named Kayla (who I wasn't going to name publicly but the company did here). There was no delay in communication/phone connection and she never once offered a lowered price instead argued about the definition of "beating" a price and many times said to me that "its called a price match guarantee which means we only match the price" and when I tried to read the exact language on their website (~2 sentences long btw) she was incredibly rude and wouldn't let me get a word in and said she didn't need me to read her their website and reiterated many times that "beating a price" is simply an "idiom" and doesn't mean a lower price.

NTSI looked into this incident and sent you the following via email at 9:38 AM, on Tuesday October 28th, after an exchange of several emails:
Regarding the customer service you received, we don't have a recording and our CSR Kayla does not have the same perception of the interaction as you do. She has stated that she was offering $1 off the price which would have complied with "beating the competitor" language since the price would have been $18.95. She also mentioned that there was a terrible delay on the phone line at the time you called and it was very hard to have effective communication.
Since I wasn't on the call and don't have a recording, the only thing I can do is ensure that Kayla is properly trained and continues to give great service, which has been our experience. There have been no complaints whatsoever about Kayla and her time with NTSI until this incident, and in fact many messages praising her customer service by name.
As previously mentioned, we will offer you the course for free, which means we are complying with our terms of our website language. We trust this will be sufficient for you to rescind your BBB complaint an removes any potential issues with the FTC. Thanks for your patience while we looked into this, and again I apologize on behalf of NTSI that your experience was not completely satisfactory, even if the outcome is.

pos company ripped my daughter off on a 5 hour course!!!! charged $50 then let her spend 5 hours in the course just to tell her at the end that she needs to be 18. they have all the her information to see her age !!! then the women was nasty on the phone and wouldn't even give a refund. Now I see why they don't have a Google reviews page because it would be all bad. SCAM company don't use them!!!!

NTSI has over 50 years of experience offering top notch customer service. We welcome legitimate customer feedback, however in this case your review was dishonest.
All registrants for NYOL5HR are required to confirm that they meet the state age requirement during enrollment. When registering you checked a box that clearly states that the student taking the class is over 18 years old. Per NY regulations, our system logs this confirmation at the time of registration. If you do not meet the requirements the system will prompt you "You must be at least 18 years of age" which will not allow you to proceed unless the age requirement is met. At another point during the registration process, you typed "I Agree" stating you meet the age requirement and have a valid photo permit.
We upload course completions to the NY State DMV. In your daughter’s case it was rejected by the DMV because you entered a false Date Of Birth to satisfy the age requirement, which did not match your daughter’s actual DOB. We e-mailed you on 08/11/2025, and then again on 08/17/2025 requesting clarification. Once we verified your daughter’s actual DOB, we saw the registration information did not reflect her actual DOB. We confirmed with you in another email that your daughter did not meet the age requirements set forth by the NY State DMV.
You called our customer service line upset that your daughter was refused by NY DMV, but that wasn’t NTSI’s fault, it was directly your responsibility, you chose to ignore the rules and the confirmations and enter false information. We have a recording of the interaction and our CSR was completely professional, she explained the rules of the NY State DMV to you calmly and clearly. She then correctly explained why you were not entitled to a refund, at which point you threatened to leave a negative review. We delivered a service that costs money, you used the service knowing that you had entered false information.
Again, we welcome and are happy to learn from legitimate feedback, whether positive or negative. In this case, the takeaway for you should be, take responsibility for your own actions. We’ve blocked your family from using NTSI’s services in the future, but we wish your daughter the best of luck in finding a course that’s the right fit for her, once she’s 18.

I got caught speeding which I was so I paid my fine and went to class to protect my clean driving record. I picked this class out of my three choices. The class was a little long for me, but I am sure they are all like that. The class was very interesting and full of information. I learned a lot taking this class. I’m a Ca resident, but I enjoyed learning about some of the different laws that Oregon has. The class was very easy to take and you have lots of time to work on it. All the answers to the final test were all located throughout the different modulars. I hope I never get another ticket, but if I do I will select this course again. Good luck to all who have to go back to school 😂👍🚔. Remember, if you get caught breaking any law just remember it’s your fault and not the officers. He/She is just doing their job. Thanks again. Ron

User friendly
The material was comprehensive but in a user friendly format. It is a 'go at your own pace' format so you can come and go at will. You are personally responsible for your outcome so if you need more time with each section you can review it before moving to the next 'module'. I do suggest taking notes. I completed the test in less than 10 minutes. Relatively painless process.
