Had oven for one month

Had oven for one month, only came with one shelf and that doesn't fit properly, door handle has come off twice as the screw wont thread properly so works loose. Really disappointed and feel robbed.

I bought a NW601 GDOL gas cooker.

I bought a NW601 GDOL gas cooker in 2015 everything I cookered in the top oven or main oven wasn't cooked in the middle. if I put it at the correct temperature it would burn on top and be uncooked in the middle. Even turning the temperature down it was still uncooked in the middle. That was with any food. I have now got rid of it.

Door problems

I bought a New World 50GTC in November 2018. There has always been a problem with the oven door as I needed to lift it slightly for it to close. I thought it was just a feature of the oven so didn't report it. Today, I was closing the oven door and the full door came off in my hand! I am now left with an oven unfit for purpose and a cold meal.

Finding it a little annoying that I'm still awaiting a response to my original post on here from the 16th of May despite Rebecca replying I would have a call from one of the team on the 19th. Its now the 29th of May and I have still no contact from NW. I'm seeing Rebecca still posting replied to other customer telling them they will receive a call today.... Where is my call? I've tried the office about a dozen times with no answer. This has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with.

I have the 60 and it is rubbish ,takes forever to get to it's temperature and the clock has failed twice, you get what you pay for ,spend a little more and get a better cooker

New World oven,MODEL NW602V probably the worst oven ever.

Purchased my NEWWORLD electric oven from A.O.online .MODEL :NW602V black, SKU code 444444666 It didn’t take long for problems to surface, very quickly the interior light blew, impossible to get the cover off to fit replacement, also have a problem with the interior frame of the oven expanding when hot, causing the rack to fall down it also does this when you put a pan on it, I’ve come close to serious burns because of this. Recently the dials don’t seem connected properly and one sticks, when correctly set for just oven cooking it now burns the bottom half of cakes while perfectly cooking the top half, and I feel the door seal hasn’t ever been right as I can see hot steam rushing out on the top right of it. All in all a pretty poor and very unsafe oven.
UPDATE:had a response from New World to ring them on 03448153740, have rung the number many times, it’s time got a recorded message “having problems with their phone” 2nd,3rd,4th,5th etc just get put on hold sit waiting for 25 plus mins before giving up.

Like others I bought this in June 2018…

Like others I bought this in June 2018 to support British manufacturing. By December the door latch broke and after 2 engineer visits they realised that neither the latch or the door could be replaced and had to send me a whole new cooker! So now a cooker that was replaced in Jan 2019 won't heat up. I've emailed and heard nothing but agree with other comments this is not fit for purpose equipment and the only recommendation I can give is AVOID. I am writing this only in the hope that my misfortune in buying this helps someone else.

As bad as being scammed

I,m sorry to say like many others have found our New World cooker is not fit for purpose. Purchased Dec 18 also had two faults one oven fan one oven element replaced under warranty. When the engineer came out last to replace the element i mentioned the oven temperature seemed to be too high and was this the cause of both problems and he said no it was a bad batch of components. Now the oven element has blown for a second time & we are out of the warranty. £384.00 was the cost of the cooker, feel like we have been ripped off worse than a scam.

Purchased New World electric cooker…Waste of money

Purchased New World electric cooker sept.2018.Within the first year while under warranty the heating element went.Quickly repaired by new world.Cooker is now 18 months old and fan has now packed in.2 faults within 18 months is not acceptable.Contacted customer services by phone and email.Very helpful if I am prepared to spend money on the cooker which is not worth it.Bought this cooker as it was understood that it was made in UK.Parts appear to be inferior to other cookers I have previously owned which have lasted far longer.Will not be purchasing new world again.Cooker is only fit for tip where it will shortly be going.

To be fair I would give -1, if I could.
I’ve had my cooker 18 months but only used twice a week at the most. Problems started straight away, with main oven door catch kept getting pulled out! Then About a month ago it started to make a horrendous noise whilst using the grill. It sounded like it was going to explode!
But then last Sunday the main oven door did actually explode, shattered glass everywhere, To say I was shocked is an understatement and my poor dog, well you can imagine! After quite a bit of shopping around for a replacement door £245 wanted!
If I was even gonna consider paying that amount? I couldn’t because apparently they have been discontinued!!!
I bought the cooker brand new 18 months ago, how is this possible? I’m now left with a cooker that has grill making a horrendous noise, no main oven door and an extremely scared dog!!!

Run out of Patience

Very disappointed with my new Oven/Grill. Oven failed so rang the contact number, message tells me I’m No.1 in the queue but after a 25min wait I decided that the person in front of me was telling their life story! Tried all the other contact numbers only to get the same recording so only other option was to send an email. My email was sent on a Thursday and replied to on the following Monday, in all fairness I was told that a job no. had been set up but we use our Oven 5 times a week on average so I had already arranged for a Technician to come along and fix my Oven before my email was answered. Not much point in having a Warranty if it takes that long to respond to a breakdown!

New World 50GTC - highly recommended.

I bought a New World 50GTC gas cooker three months ago to replace my previous one that was 14 years old and I am extremely pleased with it. The cooker is sturdy and well made, of far better quality than comparable items from other manufacturers. The hob is efficient and works well - from simmering porridge on the smallest burner to stir frying on the largest. Which were decidedly unenthusiastic about the grill - which I find perfectly adequate - and also mentioned the inaccuracy of the oven thermostat. I checked mine with an oven thermometer and found it to be spot on. It is an excellent cooker for a small kitchen and I would certainly recommend it.

No-one is truly interested in this company

No-one in this company is truly interested they sell you a gas cooker via a third party and then two fingers kicks in!!! They are only interested in parting you from your hard earned £££'s and nothing more then sending letters from domestic and general begging you to take out a extended warranty (data protection broken by you)

On this occasion buying British and supporting a British company has not worked for me New World my gas cooker is broke again for the 6th time in 15 months has to be due to poor workmanship no quality of goods

To other potential customers if you truly value quality products steer clear of this company they do not give a dam about selling faulty products

I asked you twice before the one year warranty ended asking for a refund and ?????????? YOU just fobbed me off with your engineer reports!!! A decent company would of obliged without question to keep the customer happy you clearly do not like happy customers

My previous mains aries cooker with eye level grill lasted over 20 years without a fault I should never of swapped to your poor excuse of a cooker / rubbish

Have just seen the following statement about your company whoever wrote it from your company must be thinking out aloud as its nowhere near correct your products fail after a few months read your reviews properly

New World cooker

I have a New World gas cooker purchased in 2014. In December 2019 the oven cooker door collapsed alarmingly in pieces on the floor. I called the company and they did say they could send out a new door and fit it for £145. Unfortunately, it transpired that the doors were not in stock and would not be available until at least April. I was given a link where I could buy a new door from another company for £200 (excluding postage and fitting). This is a ridiculous amount. They said they would give me a discount on a new cooker but they now no longer make the cooker I purchased and all their other cookers are widths of 60cms and I need maximum 55cms which they now do not stock.I do feel that this is not an old cooker (and the door must have been faulty to just break into pieces) and not to have the parts available so the customer is then ripped-off by paying out ridiculous amounts to fix it from other companies who must be making a fortune!
This is not good customer service. I have given one star as the people on the Help Line do try their best but they can only go so far. I would have expected at least a partial refund to help me with the cost of the new cooker which I have now had to order. All in all, a New World cooker I would now avoid. I did write to the CEO of the company but he has declined to reply to me personally.

Ordering spare parts for freestanding…

Ordering spare parts for freestanding gas cooker. Paid repair fee for new outer oven door in October 2019 and arrival due January 20. Nothing yet and no one in customer service can help me. Every time I call I feel person on end of phone doesn't know anything about the case even though I give them part number etc. Promise to check into it and ring back which no one every does. Can't believe something is SO difficult. Still no expected delivery and I'm VERY concerned that the wrong oven door has actually been ordered. No confidence at all in customer service and I can't get to speak to a technical person to explain what I need. Went through Curry's initially in March 2019 - they supplied new door which fitted but didnt include inner door glass retainers to hold inner glass in place. Eventually they came back said couldn't get them. I reckon they got so fed up trying to deal with spare parts. I've had to order a whole new door assembly because no one understands when I try to explain all I need is 4 inner glass retainers (the ones that are screwed into place). Am struggling to understand how this is SO DIFFICULT. Will never buy any of their products again.

Do not waste ur money!!!! If u want a cooker that looks ancient after a short period then this is the cooker for u! Iv had my cooker 2 years already had 2 bits replaced, it looks drab, new world are not interested after they have ur money....... Bunch of muppets!!!!! BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT

Avoid this company

I have owned a NewWorld cooker for 4 and a half years and have had to replace every knob on it, at a total cost of £60. This has never happened with any other cooker I have owned. When I contacted New World they told me there "may" be a problem with my cooker and offered to send out an engineer fo £160. Then they tried selling me more cooker knobs for a significantly higher price than I had be paying. When queried on what would happen if there was no fault with the oven they told me they would only charge me £120 for the engineer and sell me a set of knobs at a discount. Unbelievable. Avoid this company.
