Painful

Support and interface sucks. Waited more than an hour for an agent to help me do something as simple as tell me how to edit/resubmit an absence - something that I should be able to do on my own just by navigating the calendar.

I hate that payslips don't contain basic info (like other companies have) such as your TAX number. OH and you can't schedule sick days without doctors notes, and schedule leave days that have passed. All in all, I would turn down jobs who use this system just so I don't have to deal with Native Teams.

Stressful employee experience

I was employed via Native Teams between April and October 2025, under the EOR scheme for the company I work for.

To start, their standard employment contract is quite restrictive in places that I found unusual for a UK employer. For instance, there is no provision for company sick pay, and pension contributions were capped. Changes required an addendum, which I understand, but it felt like they were not set up to handle higher-earning professionals. Is everyone having addenda? Do they not notice these details until it's a problem, or are they happy to be ripped off for thousands of pounds?

I was put on the wrong tax code and underpaid tax, even though I started in the new tax year.

My salary payments came in at the end of the month - my contract stated the 10th, but I was okay with this, provided it was consistent. However, I was paid late in August, not receiving payment until Sept. I didn't receive any notification that this was happening from NT - the company I worked for informed me on the last day of the month that they had a delay on their side, which resulted in NT delaying my salary. I understand it's a business, and the EOR has to receive my salary, but they should have some duty of care for the people employed by them. Fortunately, I moved my savings to cover expenses on the 1st of Sept.
After that, I was stressed each month about payments.

My biggest grievence though, is the shambles they've made of my pension contributions. I received a welcome email from the pension provider and saw pay slip deductions. I didn't log into the account until July and saw there were no payments for May and June. I also had back-and-forth conversations to work out the cap in the contract, and get an addendum from Aug to remove the cap and have it based on the agreed %. Queue Aug and Sept contributions are being made at the old rate, but the correct deductions are coming out of my pay slip. I've had several frustrating months since September, sorting this out and having to constantly chase Native Teams. In October, the company I work for, having heard the issues and frustrations I've raised, decided to change EOR providers. At the time of writing on Dec 31, I am still awaiting my final pension contributions for October.

They are literally set up to pay people's salaries and pensions. My experience shouldn't have been so problematic.

Recurring payroll issues

We’ve been using Native Teams for payroll for 2 employees, and for the past months there has been a clear pattern of recurring payroll problems every cycle.

Each month requires repeated follow-ups due to last-minute issues such as invoice confusion, debit/payment failures, delayed confirmations, and lack of proactive communication. These are not one-off incidents; the same issues keep repeating despite being raised multiple times.

Payroll is time-critical. Having to chase and implement manual workarounds just to pay employees on time is not acceptable. The lack of process stability and ownership makes this service unreliable.

We hope Native Teams addresses these issues, but based on our experience so far, the reliability has been poor.

Choose a different platform

We used Native Teams to process payments to our contractors and were told that wallet transfers are instant and that payment processing takes around three business days.

In reality, a USD-to-USD contractor payment was initiated, then reversed and lost of funds as they transferred to USD-to-PHP. As a result, our contractors were not paid on time and caused a disruption of services making our contractors leave and angry. This caused unnecessary stress and impacted trust with our contractors.

What was most disappointing was the lack of proactive communication and clarity around why the reversal happened and how long the reprocessing would actually take.

The platform may work in less time-sensitive scenarios, but if timely contractor payments are critical to your business, I recommend getting very clear, written confirmation of processing timelines, reversal risk, and escalation procedures before relying on this service.

Easy Freelancer Payments

This company has helped me work as a freelancer seamlessly. No additional or hidden fees on invoicing clients, VERY easy to create and send unlimited invoices to other companies/clients. I was using other payment solutions before and they would charge extra fees to just receive the funds. NT makes the whole process as easy as it can be.

I’ve been using Native Teams for about two years now as a freelancer. Overall, pretty solid experience. The pricing and fees are fair, and I really like that you can send proper VAT-compliant invoices — super useful.

Their support team is great — always friendly and quick to help. The only real downside is how long transactions can take. It usually takes up to three business days to get money into your NT wallet, and then another few days to move it to your bank. Even with their card, it’s about the same. They used to be faster back in the day.

That said, they’ve been adding new features and perks that look promising. Plus, earning a small return on money sitting in the NT wallet is a nice touch.
