Amazing customer service and stellar experience.
Jon and his team found exactly what I was looking for, there was a few minor marks but nothing out of the ordinary for an 11 year old car, all works beautifully and I really love the car,
I have only given 4 stars as I have only had the car for 1 day and have no idea what the longevity or long term of the car will be like. But I have trust that they have chosen me a great car.
they drove nearly 4 hours to deliver the vehicles to me so distance is no issue and really gave it a great test on that drive.
I got an Audi A6 Avant and its awesome. I would recommend this company to anyone after an accident as they found me a car that I wanted and very promptly too.

We ordered our daughters first car from National Car Finder, which was a surprise for her 17th Birthday. Jon and team did a great job of sourcing us the car we wanted (matching the colour and spec), after providing us several options. We received the car in excellent condition, with a full 12 month MOT included. We have had the car now for several months (National Car Finder even went out their way to deliver on her Birthday!) and are really delighted with it, exactly what we wanted.
Will defiantly recommend, and will use again in future!

Communication right from the initial contact to the delivery of the car was spot on. Offered me plenty of options and allowed me freedom to make my choice.
Service from both Jon and Liam was friendly and helpful.
Would highly recommend and will definitely buy from them again.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend that you buy a car from National Car Finder. If you’re lucky, and the car you buy has no problems, you’ll be fine. But if you’re unlucky and the car you buy has massive issues (probably the reason it ended up at auction in the first place), you’ll be in for a very expensive and frustrating ride - you’ll notice it’s a theme in previous reviews…
We bought a Peugeot 5008 in September 2025, and within two weeks it became clear that it had an existing fault, which made the car undriveable. I want to share what we learned through our experience, so you can make an informed decision on whether to buy a car elsewhere.
- You will be required to pay upfront, in cash, via bank transfer, for a car you have never seen. There are no financial protections for this form of payment, so you can’t make a claim to your bank to recover the funds if you run in to problems
- In theory, you can return or reject the car for a full refund. I imagine (just my opinion…), given that the company asks for payment for the car as soon as the sale completes, they will not have the cash lying around to refund you until they can sell the car again.
- You are told the car comes with a ‘6 month warranty’ - this is provided by a third party. The warranty is basic and only covers a limited number of areas, if your problem doesn’t appear on their list, they won’t pay for it. If they do agree to pay for it, they will haggle over every line item on the estimate, and even then they will require a 10% contribution on the parts they are willing to pay for. On a £1500 invoice, they only agreed to cover £1000. Jon refused to pay a penny.
- National Car Finder is not a registered company, Jon Lee is a sole trader, trading as ‘National Car Finder’, this means that:
- The ‘complaints procedure’ detailed on the website is effectively meaningless, Jon Lee is the only person in the business, you are simply writing to Jon to complain about Jon.
- The ‘company’ is not a member of a regulatory body like the Motor Ombudsman, so you cannot seek support in your complaint through them
- There are no private or government bodies you can complain to if you have an issue with your car which Jon won’t pay for
- Your only recourse to claim back the money you have spent on repairs, is through the small claims court, which costs money and is time consuming.
As other reviewers have suggested, save yourself the hassle, buy the car yourself from BCA if you really want that specific car, otherwise find a reputable dealer.

The customer service I received was actually quite good. They Always answered the phone, and they were readily available with the type of cars that I was looking for. However…due to my circumstances (I needed a car for work pretty quickly) their service was substandard.
Basically they bid on car auction websites. The photo of the car looks good against their generic backdrop. But from an auction…who knows what you’re going to end up with? After 4 days of potential cars that I was desperate for, one was “withdrawn from sale” two were “pipped by the post” on bids, 2 were “oh sorry, we didn’t want to pay that much”. It was only then I realised that it’s just an auction. Cars in an auction are in auction for a reason. It depends what you want from a car and how much you trust the dealer without your car ever being looked at or test driven. I’m glad I found an independent finance company and an independent car dealership to complete the sale of the car that I’m getting next week. Gosh…need I say more?? What a circus of a company. I have rated one star for the work they did in sending me generic photos of cars at auction and for the communication PRE-SALE/AGREEMENT

We used National Car Finder for the second time this year after previously using them a few years ago. Both times we have been happy overall with the car we received. However this time we experienced some minor issues with a missing V5 and some tyre issues. We ended up spending over a month chasing Jon in order to get the tyre issue resolved. Jon did sort this out eventually but as a customer we felt forgotten about at times during this process and didn't appreciate having to chase the issue up multiple times. Some improvement to the aftersales service is needed but as I said we are happy with the car.

We all can have unexpected things happen and go wrong but it’s how we deal with them that counts. Jon Lee would not accept responsibility for the car he sold us and started the blame game saying the issue was created by us !!! A statement which ever mechanic on the planet laughed at … 12 weeks to sort and left with our old car to drive around in which he failed to tax which then voided the insurance . We’re out of pocket at this moment in time. A refund was requested after 2 weeks and numerous times throughout this very painful experience and all were ignored… Di yourselves a favour and do not touch this company..

AVOID , SERIOUSLY AVOID!! Dodgy cars!! Quick to take your money but dont want to deal with you when the car they sell you has a problem from the off! Won't allow you a refund, they ignor calls and txts, even when you tell them the car has broken down and your left stranded in a dangerous spot! They do not care, they have your money. They communicate slowly to let it go past the time so they say its not they're problem anymore. Now legal proceedings are taking place against this disgusting company for everything ive gone through!!!

The worst and most stressful 12 weeks dealing with the worst customer service I have ever experienced Jon Lee and National car finder are a disgrace to the motor sales industry. The arrogance and lack of communication is second to none. I bought a car on Tuesday 28th April and collected the car on the Friday from his office in Nottingham. I wasn’t impressed from the time I got their as the car hadn’t been properly valeted!!!
On the Saturday morning I was going to Brighton for a meeting.On the way it was a little chilly so I put heating on to find it didn’t work !! I informed Jon immediately of the problem. I stopped off and checked the coolant to which there was none .. I googled Ford to see which coolant was required… When I got home I called Jon who informed me that the warranty would kick in in a few days and we could put it through that.. I did take it to a Ford specialist who ran tests and found that oil was getting into the coolant system and to get the car back to the dealer asap as this could be major ! I informed Jon of his findings and wanted his mechanic at Nottingham MOT centre to check car.. Numerous amounts of calls (which Jon never answered) over the next SIX WEEKS.. I had requested a refund well within 31days but these requests were just ignored … I did collect the car after 6 weeks as advised by a legal representative I had to give him a chance to put right !! The journey home is about 40 miles and by the time I was home the problem was back and the coolant tank was bubbling 😳He sent someone to collect car the next morning .. I constantly kept asking for a full refund and had started the legal proceedings. The arrogance of Jon Lee the MD was beyond belief.. wouldn’t answer calls and only sent WhatsApp messages saying once his mechanic had looked at the car he would decide the next steps….. The problem then became mine as he kept saying the issue was caused by me putting in the wrong coolant 😂😂😂 a fact that every mechanic in the land knows is ridiculous.. Another 3 weeks later the car was said to be ready and fully repaired and I collected the car .. 10 miles later the car lost all power on the A50 leaving me stranded on the grass verge of a motorway in a very dangerous position.. I called the mechanic immediately only to be told “ I give up I don’t know what’s wrong with it then” and told to call Jon Lee who wouldn’t answer his phone.. I messaged him telling him the situation I was in, only to receive a message back saying he was busy and would call later .. I was on a motorway with things passing me at 70mph with NO hard shoulder !!!!
I got the car back … During the whole process I was given my old car that I had part exchanged with him to drive about and he let me drive around for 9 weeks with NO TAX on the car voiding the insurance .. I’m greatly out of pocket at the moment but did eventually get the cost of car back … I have all the messages and conversations on record and I’m will ing to share … DO NOT EVER CONSIDER buying anything from National Car finder and JON LEE

I've bided my time before I wrote this review and I wish I had read the other reviews on here before using them but I would never recommend or use them again. All friendly when they want your money but my cars clutch and gearbox went within the warranty period. After several calls, emails, letters I had to get the finance company to get involved as Liam and Jon both ignored me. The only time I did speak to Jon was when he called me to complain about my complaint. All in all it took 7 weeks to get the car booked into a garage and then the garage had to wait 2 weeks for them to approve the works despite chasing them and threats to charge storage costs at the garage. All in all 9 weeks without a car and they couldn't have cared less. Awful company and whilst the initial repairs have been done, I'm experiencing more issues with the car. I never receiced an apology from them and I doubt I ever will. A complaint to the Ombudsman will follow but I'd urge anyone to read this reviews before using these two. Do yourself a favour and pay a bit more for a reputable company.

I have used them 3 times. The first 2 times they were good. My third experience not so much. They kept my money for 10 days before I actually received my car. I had to chase them to find out when I would actually receive it. It hadn't been properly valeted even though they said it had. I told them and liam apologised but then ignored everything else. The car came from an auction so it can be hit and miss but this one has a lot of scratches. I messaged them to ask if they could do anything about the scratches and they didn't reply. It seems once they have your money they're not as bothered. I would rate them 3 stars but because they deliberately ignored me im rating them 2 stars.I definitely won't be using them again.

Pot with these guys. Read some of the other reviews and they seem about right. I've had 2 cars from these guys and first one was OK, had an issue I reported and they never replied but it was small and I fixed it and the car has been solid since then. The second recently taken delivery of had NO checks done on it before it was delivered, it had to have been taken from auction and delivered to me....and you can do that yourself nowadays without the need for a company like this.
