We have looked into your query and can provide the following reasoning to you:
The first email that your received included your initial report. You then updated the mileage on this vehicle, which is why we issued you with a second email in order to include this within your update report.
The third and forth emails are simply to remind you of the importance in running a finance check on this vehicle, as so many people either forget to do this or feel it's not relevant to them. Unfortunately we deal with many cases on a regular basis were individuals are caught out with outstanding finance, which is why we encourage this check.
The fifth email was the complimentary two week breakdown cover policy document that you chose to availed of.

Absolute con job. Looking at buying a car from Northern Ireland and the dealer said it doesn't need customs to be paid when importing to the South.
Bought this report for €7.50 that just adds vat and customs regardless, but it's not specific to the car I'm looking at.
It can't know I'm due to pay customs when it doesn't know what country the car is registered in, and on what dates.
Feel robbed and none the wiser.

Thank you for your review and we are sorry that you have perceived the Customs and VAT estimation to be lacking in some way, but we are happy to have the opportunity to highlight how the estimation should be understood.
Our reports are also used extensively by the Entire Automotive Industry through our parent company VMS (Vehicle Management System).
The vehicle in question is a Great Britain registration and not a Northern Ireland plate, and so an automatic estimation system can only go from the registration supplied and we would have no way of knowing the vehicle's status in Northern Ireland prior to January 1, 2021. Additional proof of this would also be required by Revenue, such as a ferry ticket showing the date of importation in Northern Ireland
As an NI registration is not available, the report can only estimate for a GB registered vehicle which may be liable for Duties.
With regard to an estimation being specific to the car, it should be noted that this is an estimation tool. It will return an estimation based on user input. The VAT rate is actually set and specific, and so is the Duty rate which returns an estimate based on the value of the vehicle input by the user. The report also returns a clear breakdown of the calculation.
Based on the GB registration and in the absence of proof that the vehicle was imported into NI a correct estimate was produced. The report showed that the vehicle can be subject to Duty as the country of Origin is Thailand and therefore, outside of the EU. Ultimately, it is only Revenue that can calculate the tax payable to a specific vehicle which is calculated on the day of inspection at the VRT office along with all documentation required, which includes a Customs Declaration.

Registering vehicles from Northern Ireland (NI)
A vehicle brought into Northern Ireland (NI) before 1 January 2021 and has remained there since, can be registered in the State with no customs obligations.
However, proof on the vehicle’s status in Northern Ireland prior to 1 January 2021 will be required, for example:
a ferry ticket showing the date of arrival in NI, and which clearly identifies the specific vehicle
a copy of an invoice from a transport company identifying the vehicle and delivery date
tax and insurance details indicating use in NI
or
a copy of the V5 showing the last registered keeper in NI and a date of registration to that keeper prior to 1 January 2021.
Registering vehicles whose first UK registration after 31 December 2020 is in Northern Ireland
A vehicle first registered in Northern Ireland after 1 January 2021 can be registered in the State without providing proof of its customs status where it meets the following conditions:
the registration in Northern Ireland was the first registration of the vehicle in the UK
and
the vehicle has never been exported and/or re-registered in Great Britain or any other country outside of the EU.

Just paid €7.50, for information I already knew, I only wanted to check milage. I wasn't looking for a vrt charge as the car is on irish plates, as when my report came 9 pages long the first 2 were clear, the rest were blurred. Don't waste your money, right after this review, the company emailed me which feels threatening a long winded complaint.
Further to our previous response to your complaint, we must reiterate that we have absolutely no control over the report choice a customer makes and when a customer chooses the wrong report, it certainly is ill-advised to leave what could be considered a libelous public statement in a review.
What has been put into the public domain, namely, that our service is “false” is not a verifiable fact. MyVehicle.ie along with our parent company, VMS (Vehicle Management System) are bona fide companies that are highly regarded in the automotive, insurance, banking and finance industries.
The statement you made is simply not correct and any perception you may have is not based on any mistake on our part but based on your own choice of report. We are sure you can appreciate that we have absolutely no control over the choice a customer makes. We are now kindly requesting that you immediately remove your Trustpilot review please.
May we also please remind you that you use our website at your own discretion and you agree to all the terms and conditions of its use. To accept these terms, choose a wrong report service, and then claim that you received ‘false’ information is certainly unfair to say the least. We trust you understand our determination to counter any unfair statements made against us. Please be aware also, that an estimation by a third party is never to be seen as a guaranteed final Revenue VRT charge payable.
With that said, we do understand that mistakes like this can happen from time to time and you may have thought you were purchasing a full vehicle history check and purchased a VRT estimate in error, so on this occasion, we are happy to offer you a full check at a discounted price of €27.50 if you wish to accept.

Fantastic service and a must before you buy a vehicle
I was about to purchase a van for work and decided to have MyVehicle.ie run a search on a vehicle and lucky for me it turned out that there was Hire Purchase issues still on the vehicle . This was really useful because if I purchased the vehicle the hire purchase agreement would follow me. MyVehicle staff were so professional and easy to deal with and I’m sure they saved me thousands of Euro. Needless to say I didn’t buy the van . Thanks My Vehicle.ie

Doesnt show the VIN despite stating it
Website claims to show the VIN number in the report, but doesnt. Ripped off.
Gave it 2 starts because the service was simple to use and the rest of the info was relatively useful.

Great service and great people
I bought a bundle from them with 3 reports. Graham was very kind and went through the report with me over the phone while highlighting any potential issues with the vehicle and providing a great advice. Unfortunately I didn't get the first vehicle I looked at so I was glad I bought the bundle (which worked out cheaper).
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. Great service and great people.
