Just what we needed
We just started with My Online Schooling a month ago and the first experiences are encouraging. Not only because of the strange year that we are all in because of Covid, in our particular case content and administrative professionalism of the MOS Team is just what we wanted for our 10th grader.

Great Online School
My son has settled in well and is enjoying the lessons which are a good mix of structured teacher led lessons and independent learning through homework. He has come on in leaps and bounds and confidence with the subjects we elected to take.
Class sizes are good (Not large like traditional state schools) and he always feels engaged with his teachers as they respond to his questions.
Communication with the school has been excellent and the taster lesson he received before we signed up was informative to understand how things were done.

School experience
Nothing is to much trouble for the admin team, our parent liaison is always available and replies to queries and concerns as soon as she can. Most importantly though,my daughter has never been happier than she has since joining the school. She is totally engaged in her learning and is enjoying it.

Good teachers, untrained on Canvas
I think the school tries to do a good job, but with the new platform, teachers seem undertrained regarding how to use it. We have spent many hours figuring out how to do an assignment because the format was not able to be used. We had to email forms to ourselves, print them out, scan, etc. instead of being able to use the online platform to do an assignment. Missing recordings are frequent. Numerous emails have had to be sent to have teachers resubmit their recordings. The teachers are sometimes confused and admit being confused about the platform. It is an online school, so being able to successfully navigate Canvas is essential. The teachers are kind and generally very competent, but the platform is a problem, or the lack of knowledge about how to operate it.

One of the major reasons for making this switch was to provide a platform that is as user friendly and efficient as possible, and we are delighted to have seen this hugely benefit the day to day school lives of our pupils, families and teachers. We're therefore very sorry to hear that you have been experiencing issues.
Upon transitioning to the new platform earlier this year, our entire teaching and office team received full training, and any new teachers continue to receive this training. However, as with any major change to school, we acknowledge there may still be a few teething issues and appreciate you bringing these to our attention so we can minimise them as much as possible going forward.
We would highly recommend to get in touch with your Parent Liaison, or use the live chat function on our website, should you encounter any further issues. Our Parent Liaisons are available throughout the school week and are equipped to assist with any technical issues you may be experiencing with our platforms.

The school is great and most of the…
The school is great and most of the teachers.
However, there is a Business and Economics teacher, who is muted half of the time in class wasting this paid time for the students "to read the lesson" from the book, which they can make without the teacher alone out of the live classes as a homework. It is not serious.
Another issue I had with a refund of payments, waiting for more than 1 month, communicating with 6 different people, explaining my situation to everyone. In the meantime when I was paying the school the deadlines were extremely strict. When you ask someone to be correct with you, please be correct yourself first.

Our daughter's teacher is fantastic
Our daughter's teacher is fantastic. Very inspiring to and engaging with the kids. Impressed with the quality of the teaching.
Long communication delays with the admin side of school once enrolled and various technical mishaps, perhaps due to sudden influx of new students.
Overall, glad we signed our daughter up.

Best decision I’ve ever made as a parent
I have two 7 year old twins that weren’t doing well in regular brick and mortar schools but now with myonlineschooling I can see a difference in their attitude towards school .They are much happier and doing great with their studies. This was the best decision we have ever made. I was worried at first because it was something new but I’m glad I made the decision to pull them out of school and continue their studies online with my onlineschooling. Staff are really helpful and their class teacher in year 3 is amazing ! Her comments on their ILA’s make them want to do more .. I can’t thank them enough even though it’s been a couple of months since we started with MOS it’s been a great experience so far !

So far, so happy
We are new to online schooling and are finding it a great relief to not have lift clubs and activities all the time. My daughter is enjoying the online lessons and getting used to having spaces to fill inbetween them. The only bit that is tricky is that she is finding it hard to strike up friendships, though she has real life friends she is slightly disappointed not to have all the friends from around the world she imagined. I will start to engage with the mothers more to see if we can set up meet and greet groups.
The service from MOS has been outstanding, everything works well. So far, so happy.

My Online Schooling - we should have switched sooner
We decided to register our son with My Online Schooling because of the current COVID situation and the on-going disruptions in schools. However, after just a few weeks we wished that we had researched the option of an on-line education much earlier. Our son is thriving and enjoying school so much; he is less tired by the end of the week but is doing so much more. My Online Schooling offers the same excellent standards as our son's previous school, however on-line teaching means learning in quietness with no distractions and the ability to re-watch a lesson. My Online Schooling is still very much a school with assembly and after-school clubs so we believe our son is now getting the best of both worlds.

A real gem.
The school is growing rapidly so it is finding it’s feet with admin and technology. However the teachers are amazing and my children really enjoy logging on and joining in the classes, what more can you ask.
We have attended for two years.

Good option for home education
The teaching is very high standard and my son enjoys his lessons. The only concern is the timetable I had hoped for more flexibility on when the lessons would be as my son has a variety of tutors, uses My online school and attends a vocational school part time so I had hoped his lessons could fit it but he's having to catch up on some of the lessons due to clashes. I'd recommend MOS for home educated children who would like to continue with traditional school away from school.

Excellent. My daughter loves the fact that she can focus on being taught without the disruptions that usually happen in a standard school. Teaching is of a very good standard with constructive feedback given. Recordings of the lessons make missing a lesson or forgetting what was said in class a thing of the past. This is a fantastic school
This is a fantastic school. We enrolled our daughter because of covid and we weren't happy with the online classes provided by her regular school. Our daughter is so engaged, interested and keen to do all the MOS classes. It's great! And the school is a professional online school, so there is no hesitation from teachers, they be got all sort of cool apps and websites to share. They know what they are doing and how to keep the kids engaged

Okay but not great
Okay but not great. Pro: nice atmosphere, generally responsive administration, kind teachers. Con: academics are not challenging, lack of consistent and constructive feedback on homework. We left after two terms for another school that offers a more rigorous education and are happier, but I think MOS would be a good fit for those who intend to supplement the education on the side in any event.

We strive to ensure that our lessons are taught at the appropriate level for each year group, and in a way that is both appropriately challenging and supportive to all learners in the class. We are delighted to be able to provide flexibility for pupils who excel beyond their peer group level, as well as interventions and alternatives for those who require additional support.
With regards to homework, independent learning assignments are closely monitored by our Education Team and our teachers work hard to ensure that any work submitted via the pupil portal by the given due date is marked with feedback provided where appropriate. We're sorry to hear you felt this was not consistent, and will be sure to pass your feedback on to the team.

Textbooks and homeworks
Dear School,
I'm have been overall pleased with this new experience. My daughter get along well with classmates and teachers.
I have only two suggestions: first, we have been driven to purchase a lot of textbooks which had no use whatsoever until now. Second, it's not always easy to submit homeworks. It happens that they are sent on time via email instead of being uploaded. We warned the teachers, but despite this the homeworks are not graded or signalled as missing. We also asked to reopen the terms in order to upload the files, but we had no reaction on their side.
I already wrote to the liaison people, but the answer was not very useful.
I hope the school will be more cooperative on this specific topic.

We have two children at MOS in years 9…
We have two children at MOS in years 9 and 7. They both love it. They started at the school in April during the height of the pandemic when I saw that their state schools were not providing sufficient instruction for them while they were learning from home. Both kids decided they prefer the online school and chose not to return to their state schools when they reopened. We also prefer it as parents as I feel more closely involved in what they're doing. I can easily see all their assignments and marks and can even contact teachers, if necessary. The only downside is the children do miss their friends so we've had to make an extra effort to catch up with people on weekends and for extra-curricular activities.

Very happy with the school
Two of my kids use this platform for learning. They are enjoying it and the lessons are very good and interactive. I've found their teachers to be engaging and interesting. My younger son loves the clubs too. I am am also happy with the organisation of each teachers page for the subject so I can see the lessons and PowerPoint and know the outlook for what they are covering for the term.
