They can't express themselves
Bought a digital to analog video converter that was advertised as
"Lag free 1:1 digital video to RGB, YPbPr, and S-Video conversion - no resolution (upscale/downscale), or crop/aspect ratio changes from input to output."
on their website.
But that does not work in every case; not in my preferred use-case anyway.
From what i could gather from the email-exchange with that company (they were not easy to pin down) there are 2(?) different kinds of HDMI, the one coming from a computer and another one coming from retro gaming devices like the Mister fpga, another device sold by that company. The converter cannot for example convert HDMI to RGB for a CRT TV. The company claimed that this had been made clear on their website but i couldn't find that anywhere on the product page and they also didn't even try pointing it out for some reason...
Claimed capabilities of this device also changed during email exchange. First they claimed my use case could be achieved by activating some additional switch, then that never came up anymore.
They also refused a full refund.
Luckily i found another use-case for the device which it performs adequately, so it wasn't a complete loss for me.
