The Mikey and Mia company is responsible for selling some of the world's most premium parrot food blends, with the healthiest and most diverse range of parrot food you will find on the market. We use human-grade ingredients and have so many healthy parrot food options available, that there is something for everybirdy! Whether you are looking for budgie food, macaw food or healthy food for African Grey parrots we will have something in store for you! You will love these parrot foods if you're looking to improve your parrots behaviour, physical and mental health, feather quality or stop negative behaviours such as plucking, screaming or biting. We offer complete parrot foods containing vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices, flowers and seeds, as well as healthy seed mixes for birds and sprouting mixes for parrots. Our parrot foods contain super foods such as spirulina and sauerkraut, as well as much loved favourites, like apple and blueberries. All too often parrots are being left to eat bowls of sunflower seeds, with little in the way of variety, flavour and texture, and with their advanced intelligence levels, parrots need more stimulation in their daily routines. Just one meal a day of any of our foods provides enrichment and excitement, as well as a concentrated boost of vitamins and minerals that will elevate their health to the next level. Say goodbye to standard unhealthy over processed parrot foods and welcome in a new era of human grade diversity.

My Bolivian blue&gold macaw named Nixie
My macaw is still young & not weaned yet. She is five months old. She will eat chick peas & sweet potatoes on her own!! But vegetable chop I have to coach her. She sees the added sweet potato that I put in her chop to entice her to eat & she already scopes out chicpeas. I had purchased Shelby’s seedless mix & I add a tbs to her two tbs of vegetable, legumes & grain chop~ She likes that for a switch. I also purchased Mikey & Mias seedless mix that I offer to her with her tops dream seed mix. She gets grounded walnuts, pecans & sliced almonds anytime she wants. I have bowls scattered throughout my house for her to forage. As well as tops pellets that I mix with the grounded nuts. I use pinenuts for training treats but not always. She just eats and forages for them throughout the day. I am happy that both these mixes have flowers & things the hot peppers, she loves those btw! I only offer her bell peppers & she prefers the yellow ones. But those little red fire crackers she absolutely loves! I will be ordering more!

Thank you for sharing such a detailed update about your macaw! It sounds like she has a fantastic and varied diet, and we’re thrilled to hear that she enjoys both Shelby’s and Mikey & Mia’s seedless mixes, especially the flowers and hot peppers! Foraging is such a great way to keep her engaged, and it’s wonderful to know she’s already showing preferences for certain foods. We appreciate your support and look forward to your next order. If you have any questions or need more tips, feel free to reach out anytime. Happy feeding! 🦜❤️
INFESTED WITH BUGS!!
Shelby dry mix was infested with beetles within 6 months of purchase. This has never happened to ANY of my other parrot food. I sealed the bag every single time I used it and kept it in a cool and dry area. Plus, I stored the Shelby Dry Mix in the ORIGINAL bag that it came in. So either A) the food came with bugs in the bag, or B) the packaging sucks!! and will allow a beetle colony to form inside. Not to mention the fact that there were hundreds and hundreds of beetles, which was an obvious sign that this was a well-established colony that had been forming for many, many months. I am sick to my stomach to think I was feeding this stuff to my parrots. I did not feed the mix to my parrots very often; I would usually feed them 1/2tsp about 1-2 times a week. Even so, it really does not matter how often I was feeding this to my birds and I am not sure why it is questioned heavily in the reply. Especially since there is no expiration date on the bag plus I do not think that 6 or even 7 months is an unreasonable amount of time to use the food at all?? (like they are making it seem) Especially since the ingredients are freeze dried and air dried. If the company could enlighten me on the exact timeframe I was expected to finish the entire bag that would be great!! If you reread my first email, all I was really asking was when does the food expire, and does it have an expiration date. Ultimately know that this “food” WILL DEFINITELY ATTRACT BUGS INTO YOUR HOME!!!!

Hi,
Thank you for your review, we apologise our explanation over email didn’t help you understand the situation regarding this issue. Please see below for more detail.
Your order was placed on the 6th Jan 2024, it arrived to you in the USA on 15th Jan 2024
We received an email from you on the 2nd Aug 2024. Nearly 7 months after you have been using this product to say you on the 30th July 2024 you found bugs in it. 6 and a half months later.
Now, the bag you bought was a 150g bag, this consists of a 50g separate seed mix and 100g of drymix. Even feeding 1 teaspoon a day, it probably wouldn’t have lasted half that time, we are talking about 196 days of use on a bag so small you would had to feed maybe half a gram a day for it to last that long but you did state in your original email “I had over half of the bag left but I was forced to throw the whole thing away as it was completely crawling with insects.” Which means only 50g was used over the 196 days. I can only assume this wasn’t fed daily or each meal would’ve been the size of about 1/4 of a star anise
Now with organic items with grains, wheat, flowers etc, it is possible to have microscopic eggs inside them, even with human grade items like the ones we always buy, but even if there were any in there, they would’ve hatched within a month, which we did explain to you and you did agree with in our email, now if they did hatch, this would’ve probably been before you even received your order, yet, you managed to open, feed, and use this bag for 6 and a half months with no issues at all.
If there were bugs living in the food when it arrived, there is a very high chance you would’ve seen them very fast, you mentioned there were hundreds and hundreds of Beatles that just appeared one day. You would think if they were forming over many months in such a small space it would be very noticeable.
Your suggestion that our packaging “sucks” could be a fault of not sealing the bag properly after each use, an easy mistake to make, sometimes you just forget, we are all human, but our food comes in resealable bags that are constructed with food grade materials.
Usually in a situations like this, people would provide photo evidence, but unfortunately you mentioned you threw away the bag without taking any photos at all.
Now you may say our food attracts bugs, but that would also be similar to say if you left open sugar out on your kitchen counter and within a week it was filled with ants. Our food is delicious, its human grade, it has a variety of freeze dried fruit and veg, edible flowers, herbs, seeds, it would be heaven for any living being to feast on, so it must be stored properly.
Also, keep in mind with nearly 20,000 bird food bags sold, and hundreds of positive reviews, we have never once, had a review, email, comment, or complaint like this before.
We would like to thank you for trying our products and apologise that it didn’t work out.
We strive to provide high-quality products and customer satisfaction is our top priority. We regret that you experienced this issue with our product and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We recommend storing natural foods in a clean and sealed bag, especially in warm conditions, to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Great Products
First, the food is great. My little mixed flock loves it (Petite Beaks). I am now over a year in serving this mix to them, along with an array of healthy fresh veg and some pellets. Also the Super Sprouts mix is the best I have bought, as it is very palatable and actually sprouts.
Secondly, the logistics side is well done. Orders are processed promptly and delivery to Canada is quick.

This is the only dry mix my green cheek will eat.
This is the only dry mix my green cheek conure Jazz will eat. He wasn't picky about his food at all untill I gave him some of the Petite Beak nix. Now he will literally turn his back on anything else except his chop.

Aww, it sounds like Jazz has found his new favorite! 😄 I’m so happy to hear that the Petite Beak mix has won him over—green cheek conures can be quite the food critics once they find something they love! It’s great that he’s enjoying it so much, though I totally understand how he’s now a bit picky with other foods! Thanks for sharing Jazz's little food journey with us! Being from Australia
Being from Australia, I'm so grateful that I can purchase this fantastic product from the UK without any problems from our strict custom department. My little conures just love it and had no problems taking to the new food. I cut up some of the larger pieces to more manageable sizes and they gobbled it down. Smells devine. I tried some myself. Yummy.

Great Customer Service and Products!
I was very excited to order the petite beaks food for my cockatiels, and spicy seed mix. Originally when I received my package, 1 of the items was incorrect. I emailed their support and they responded promptly, and shipped what I had ordered quickly. My birds enjoy the products, and I like the ingredients in them—so I feel good about feeding them those mixes. My birds also enjoyed the other item, the calming seed mix too. Thank you so much! Will order again.
I live in the US so shipping was higher than I’m used to of course, but it was worth it and will likely put in future orders as being bulk restocks so I can save on shipping by putting in less frequent orders.
