We’ve popped you over an email regarding this, as we’d really like the opportunity to help resolve this directly with you. Please always feel free to email us if there are any issues with your order, we’re always happy to help wherever we can!
Unfortunately, this is a recent requirement with FedEx, and the customs charges have been incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes customers are charged these fees and sometimes they aren’t, which has understandably caused a lot of confusion and frustration.
If you could send us a copy of the $23 invoice, we would be more than happy to cover this for you on this occasion.
We’re also in the process of moving our shipping back to Royal Mail, so we’re hoping to avoid these unexpected FedEx charges and make things much smoother for our US customers going forward.
We’re truly sorry you’ve experienced this, and we really appreciate you taking the time to let us know. Most importantly, we’re glad to hear your parrot has always loved the food, and we hope we can get this resolved for you.

My Avian vet explained that parrot mixes are often our rejects and are stored so long they loose there nutritional value. So I tried Mikey & Mia's & now my girlie loves it! Took some time to adjust but now she wolf's it down every meal time.
She's not much of a veggie girl either but loves the freeze dried veggie mix too! Feathers looking lush!

I am not happy
I am not happy. i was so excited to find seemingly good source of food for our birds and ordered and paid over €150 for month ago and still no parrot food!
paid €15 for delivery yet tracking with Royal Mail is sketchy, first showing as in customs now that is is about to be only released from UK?
contacted customer service twice but there is no help from them

Best avian shop in EU living up to a great avian dietary needs
I have ordered from Mikey & Mia many times before the individual ingredients became an available option. This is my first time placing an order of said option, which turned into a large order.
I'm very appreciative that the products has been packaged in each their own individual bag, instead of everything being mixed together (this were a concern of mine). The zip lock feature is very useful so it can be stored safe and prevent risk of outside contamination. The product content is of great quality and I have never encountered any issues that could be cause of concern.
The only thing I wished that could be changed is the bags could hold the amount of weight of the individual product instead of receiving several bags. It feels a bit of package waste and it also takes a lot of space in this situation.
Over all, I highly recommend Mikey & Mia. Especially as they are one of the only ones I know of in EU that offers such products with focus on meeting exotic avians dietary needs.
