Foreigners beware..
Foreigners beware...
As per recent events and communication from the practice, it is abundantly clear that this veterinary practice is NOT suitable to serve foreign pet owners, and very clearly the thousands of pounds of our money we've spent there in exchange for what they claim to be "professional" service, is simply not good enough.
I am extremely saddened that in this day and age this is still a problem we have to encounter, especially in a place where kindness and community is heavily promoted and emphasized locally, and given that the vet has been a guest in our very country. Not that it should matter, nor do we owe justification to anyone, but we have not come off a boat, and have been tax paying, working members of the community.
I have not had the, I must say, misfortune of attending the practice on many occasions, but the few times I haven taken our family dog, the foul attitude has been very apparent. The way we have been spoken to, the what they thought were sly, unnoticed looks we have been given and the constant nitpicking that other pet owners have not been subjected to are not acceptable, specifically in consideration that the practice is the one providing what is effectively a service we are paying for.
Most recently, one of the assistants have once again spoken to us in a completely unacceptable manner, which we have called out - the result being that we were kicked out of the practice. I can very much confirm that we have not been abusive nor rude to the staff at any point, perhaps bewildered that in a so called "professional" environment, someone tought this was acceptable. Not even mentioning the borderline disgust on some of the assistants faces when having to touch our dog, who is always clean and well groomed. No one has taken accountability and there has been no apology made, not on the day nor since then. The knowledge of the vet - the only reason we stayed - is completely let down by the behavior of the mentioned clinic staff.
I am very much sympathetic and in understanding that people can have bad days, but if such behaviour is only directed at one individual/pair of individuals and not others time and time again, I must question the basis and intent.
I would not in good conscience recommend this practice to anyone who is a foreigner, nor local, in all honesty. Most times it is stressful enough for pet owners to go to the vet and the added stress from the staff's attitude is well and truly not necessary or acceptable.
Avoid, if you can.
