Lola’s began back in 2006 with a simple aim: to bake beautiful, fresh cakes every day. Starting as a small bakery, we quickly grew and went on to open flagship store in Selfridges and, today, we have over 30 locations in and around London!

I bought some cakes at the test kitchen at Tottenham Court Road underground station yesterday, I had a Petite Cake (raspberry) which was good, and two lighter bites Lemon and Ricotta and Pistachio loaves, and they were OK. I felt the dough was a bit on the ‚stodgy‘ side, and lacked sweetness. However, the chocolate crisp was delicious. All items were discounted by 50%. I think it definitely helped me decided to buy the items. I am not sure I’d pay the full price for them though.

Love Lola’s
Love Lola’s. Always the tastiest cupcakes but the new cinnamon bun cookie from the test kitchen was so yummy. The staff were friendly and helpful and the whole experience is worth every penny I paid for the cakes.

Delicious feta bun, but the muffin was too dry
I bought a muffin and a savoury feta and poppy seed bun from Lola’s Test Kitchen. The muffin tasted nice, but I found it too dry.
The feta and poppy seed bun was delicious! The flavours were really well balanced: the dough was slightly sweet without being overly so, and worked beautifully with the savoury poppy seed topping and the soft, creamy feta. I’d definitely buy it again.

Date slice taste test
The staff were friendly and helpful when deciding on which product to taste test. I tried the date slice. It was very tasty and the little sprinkle of salt on the top worked well. It was a little oily, but it didn't affect my overall enjoyment of the product. If this became a regular line, I would buy it again.

Cake testing
I was stopped at Tottenham Court Road this morning for testing of new Lola products. It was like a pastry flan filled with caramel with almonds on top. Very delicious and sweet. I would buy this. I hope it stays on your menu.
