Good local company BAD parent Company
The repair man was great efficient, has done a good job …… then the paperwork - contract - what contract I did not agree to any contract, so phoned local office I was told not to worry it means nothing, they did not convince me so send in my cancellation of contract by e- mail.
Said I would not recommend this company just for the ‘ paperwork contract ‘ but I thought it important to bring this to everyone’s attention regarding the Contract.
Looks like they use small family local businesses but have a large company mentality NOT GOOD for everyone.

First class service, highly recommend
Posted a job with Check A Trade for a locksmith. Keytek replied almost immediately. Job was set up quickly and efficiently and the locksmith appeared dead on the time they said, first class service.

I wouldn’t even give this company 1…
I wouldn’t even give this company 1 star.
Elderly neighbour charged £192 to change a barrel lock on rear door. Never changed it coming back in 3-4 days. Balance will be £285.00
So £473.00 in total
I have just changed it in less than 5 minutes. Barrel cost £21.50
As far as I’m concerned this is a rogue trader. An absolute disgrace.

Sorry we don’t not have anything available, if you have used marketing to locate in places you don’t actually cover, don’t do it for a wider reach.
When I explained my circumstances, I feel the lady on the phone didn’t care or listen. I asked for a quote and got cut off abruptly.

With regard to availability, we can only attend and quote for jobs in areas where we have verified engineer coverage. On this occasion, unfortunately, we did not have a locksmith available in your location at that time, which meant we were unable to provide a quote or proceed further. Provided a quote of £190 for a job in Criccieth.
When I called back to arrange an appointment, they refused as they don't cover the area.
Luckily we found another company who did the job for half the price and the staff were much nicer to deal with.

On this occasion, the initial quote was provided before we were aware of an unforeseen issue that meant we were unable to cover the Criccieth area. When this became clear, we felt it was only right to be upfront and let you know, rather than risk booking a job we could not reliably attend. We fully appreciate how disappointing this must have been, especially after you had already taken the time to call back.
We apologise for the confusion and for any impression this gave. It was certainly not our intention to mislead, and we are reviewing this internally to reduce the chances of it happening again.

Excellent locksmith sent
The locksmith who arrived was brilliant and super helpful. He explained every step to us from getting in the house to replacing the locking system.
The only part which didn't go smoothly was firstly he hadn't got a replacement part on his van ( Christmas break ) that was understandable but we had to pay for a second visit! This was not our fault. I belive if the part was available it could have been done in 1 hour and not the 2 hours we was charged. When the part arrived it was faulty, wasted visit for the locksmith so we had to wait for another part. Finally all fixes yesterday. I must point out our locksmith was fantastic and none of the issues were his fault.
