Took a ring in for resizing and was…
Took a ring in for resizing and was told it would be £199.95. I was told by them that my ring was 18ct gold. I also took a gold chain in which cost £109 to have a bigger ring on to fasten as it was tiny. Cost would be £40!! I declined both and went to an independent jeweller who charged £35 for ring resize and £20 for the bigger ring on chain . The ring was not 18ct . It is 9 ct. very disappointed with prices at Samuel’s
Worst company got engagement ring
The worst experience of making my engagement ring. I was recommended to use them but simply kept on delaying my order. I ordered with them at 7 June 2025 and haven’t got my ring back. Chatting to a manager in one of the Stratford stores only kept saying it is delayed.
I asked how long will it be. No answer from them. Only kept saying wait for us to give you a call or an sms. Most company do it 6 to 8 weeks. This company is not even serious at all.

Would be no stars if I could took a 400 Armani watch in to get battery changed lad said no problem come back in 15 minutes but he rang a few minutes later saying they couldn't do it as screw driver was too big.we went to collect it and he said oh maybe another store could and there may be some scratches on screws .we went to another jeweller who inform me that screws had been rounded off .the lad in shop denied it ,manager refused to give her name or directors name.so I am left with a damaged watch and been told we could take it back to send it away but it would be 49.99 for battery horrible service
They don't update out of stock situation
Ordered an item, then got an email 2 days later to say it was out of stock & the transaction had been reversed. So waited a few days later to order it, but the same thing happened. I've never known a website to not have live stock updates to show if something is out of stock. You'd think when the 1st transaction was an issue, they would update the stock situation manually. Will definitely not be ordering from this company again.
I am extremely disappointed!
I am extremely disappointed with H. Samuel in Middlesbrough. I purchased my dream engagement ring in September 2023, and since then, it's been nothing but issues! The ring wasn't cheap, and my partner also took out insurance cover, yet we've had to send the ring for repairs twice already. The first repair took about 3-4 weeks, and now the second one has been dragging on for almost two months, which is absolutely shocking!
The customer service is appalling — whenever we try to call, they have no answers and can't explain why the repair is taking so long. It's incredibly frustrating, especially when we're paying for a premium product and service. We should not have to chase them up every day for updates.
The rings might look nice, but if you re considering buying an engagement ring and insurance, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The poor service has completely overshadowed what should have been a special purchase. Very disappointed
My delivery date changed 3 times whilst…
My delivery date changed 3 times whilst processing my online order. Original delivery date was next day (13th June), when I entered my credit card details, my delivery date changed to 15th June, once my payment had been processed, my delivery date changed once more to 16th June. Not at all happy because I particularly wanted the next day delivery that I originally signed up for. Definitely put off from ordering with you again.
Disgusting
My fiance bought my engagement ring in Nov 2020.
One of the small diamonds had come out as the clasp had caught on something. Obviously i didn't see it catching on anything.
When i rang customer service i was told go to the store.
As you can imagine no help there at all all because the clasp had come off?!
They wouldn't do this for free, i wouldn't have minded paying for some off it but no they wouldn't budge as i called the customer helpline when i got home.
My fiance would have taken out insurance but didn't think we would need too. H Samuels has always had a good name...
The ring cost a lot of money.
I won't be buying from them again.

Bought my engagement ring in March, staff in Dumfries store couldn’t have been more helpful, have just ordered my wedding ring from them too.
Please please please relocate there store in Dumfries, we have little enough shops as in and the staff here are the most amazing sales staff ever
First engagement ring from Evie
In April I bought my first engagement ring. I went in store to the Scarborough branch where I was greeted by Evie. Evie was very helpful, informative and proffessional, she made me feel at ease with her kind and friendly personality (in a somewhat daunting situation).
Evie came across as genuinely invested in finding me (my partner) her perfect ring. I never felt pressured and everything was taken at my pace.
Today I have had to exchange the ring as I found out I may have made the wrong choice. I was met by Evie again, who was again, very helpful, understanding and pleasant to speak to. I believe It only fair that she is commended highly for her customer service skills. However, I have a saying "you can spend appreciation" with this being said I hope she receives a well deserved payrise to boot, as I'm sure it's not just me that receives this amazing one to one customer service experience 👌🏼 Thank you very much Evie.

I have bought the item, an expensive present before Christmas (7 days), it was in stock and it is still available. Delivery due: couple of days. Then, 4 times the company reschedule delivery by themselves due to unknown reasons. I have call H.Samuel 3 times, for the explanation - it was not given, just another reschedule delivery offered (no even single note on my account what was previously said or done). Today I have another cancellation the fourth one. I try to get the refund - they say the money should be returned by the 16/01/22, a month after! Shocking customer service!
Exceptional service @ H Samuels, The Mall Cribbs Causeway
Unfortunately after 9 weeks the diamond on my engagement ring fell out. After reading some bad reviews on here I was not looking forward to going into the shop having to fight my case. I was sooo wrong! We were served by Elena and she was the assistant who originally served and luckily for us, she remembered us. She couldn’t have been be more helpful and was happy to exchange my ring for a new one, I had lost faith in my original ring and again she was more than happy to exchange it for something of the same value. I honestly have not received such an exceptional service like this in a long time! She made a really sad time soooo much easier and I would recommend H Samuel to anyone who’s asks purely for their customer service!
