Single parent with 7 year old child. Water streaming under my house. Thought it was from the tap in my kitchen. Managed to get a neighbour to turn off the water. Phoned this company who said someone would be there first thing in the morning. As it was 5pm I bought bottled water to give my child until the repair in the morning. Morning came and went, no plumber. Finally phoned to say he wouldn't be till tomorrow.
When he finally came, he said the problem was the hose from my integrated dishwasher. He didn't do integrated appliances!! A plumber!! I got him to replace my tap with one I had already purchased. For that I was charged £198! and the real problem had not been addressed either. I now have to source a new hose for my dishwasher and find someone who replace it for me. What are plumbers taught at plumbing school these days, if machines like washing machines and dishwashers cannot be fixed by plumbers?? Machine isn't even broken, just the hose pipe from the main water supply. An expensive lesson for a single parent with no knowledge of plumbing.

We contacted this company to arrange for an engineer to fix our freezer. As with all the other recipients on this website we were ripped off in terms of payment charges. We paid £118.80 over the phone thinking that covered the whole bill. However the following day we were informed by a local agent (who we had to chase) that a further £200 would need to be paid direct to the engineer. At that point we cancelled the call out and contacted Home Services to request our money back. This was refused. We have subsequently taken this up with our bank to see if further action can be taken. Throughout the whole process we received no evidence of written confirmation.

I totally agree with some of the other reviewers on TrustPilot i.e if they were giving out Minus ratings then this company absolutely fits the bill. They are not fit for purpose and don't seem capable of running a compliant business. Do not use them.

Hi I would like a full refund about the plumber I booked ist not fair to pay 102£. And when they come over here we need to pay for them 102£ is very expensive.... For nothing just a phone call

I rang this company not realising they were based in Kent! I'm in Somerset.

I paid £82.50 + VAT = £99.

The person who was coming to me to carry out the work didn't realise that this was charged by them.

I would have to pay him a further £70 per half hour. He was legitimate and was horrified, genuinely.

Therefore, I paid £99 for the privilege of speaking with someone for literally 5 minutes max this amount.

Every time you ring, you are told, please hold, I'm just finishing up a call.

They advised I could have 50% of my money back, therefore, still paid nearly £50 for a quick phone call.

I will be pursuing this furthere.

Be warned do not use this company. Awful experience paid £106 booking fee for a same day premium service. Engineer did not turn up and after excuses and lies from call centre was provided with his number only to find he was on holiday in the USA! Call centre refused to return my monies and had to report them to my credit card company. Dreadful experience shoukd not be allowed to trade.

I called to have some doors fitted. I was charged £90 up front and told I would be contacted for fitting to be done. When I asked for the phone number of the fitter I was told he couldn't give me one. The person I spoke to was rude with a horrible attitude. I asked for my deposit to be refunded there and then but he said he couldn't do that. Since then we have managed to get a contact number but they are not answering our calls neither is the person who took the deposit. DESPICABLE COMPANY. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

100 pounds for a referral to a gutter specialist who was not local.
I got one name, no Company and the so called specialist wanted me to pay for his petrol to come and see the issue.
He didn't really have a clue. Says he was an engineer

THIS COMPANY IS AN ABSOLUTE SHAM. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER USING THEM. FIRSTLY YOU WILL BE CHARGED £75 FOR CONTACTING THEM PLUS VAT, THAT'S £90. THEN YOU HAVE A CALL FROM A WORKMAN OF WHATEVER ILK, IN OUR CASE THAT WAS A FURTHER A FURTHER £65 AND THEY HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED THE JOB YET BUT YOU WILL GET A TIME, SOME JOKE THAT IS BECAUSE NOONE WILL TURN UP. OUR JOB WAS TO FIX THE HOT WATER ON OUR HEATING SYSTEM. WE HAVE MANAGED TO AGREE SOME OF OUR MONEY BACK. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY SCANDALOUS. WITH TIMES AS DIFFICULT AS THEY ARE CURRENTLY WE DON'T NEED THIS. JUST LOOK AT THE REVIEWS FROM OTHERS - 1 STAR AND IF I COULD GIVE MINUS STARS I WOULD FOR DEFINITELY. THE PLUMBER ARRIVED LATE, DIDNT HAVE A CLUE AND I WAS CHARGED 447 POUNDS FOR 30 MINUTES WORK WHICH INVOLVED STICKING A ROD DOWN THE DRAIN AND POURING SOME LIQUID DOWN THE DRAIN.
SHAME ON THIS COMPANY AND ITS OWNERS. NEEDS REPORTING TO TRADING STANDARDS.

Shame there is no facility for 0 stars, took £102 booking fee from disabled person and promised an electrician as we had no power. Was promised someone would be with me by 6pm. I phoned again at 5.45pm and asked if they were still coming and was told that they would not be coming despite being promised, but they could come some time the following day. They are crooks avoid at all costs. Still trying to get refund

Avoid this company, take your money up front, then don't show up, spoke to Luke on the phone, the most rudest person I've ever spoken to. Called a reputable company, who came out within half hour no call out fee and job done in an hour.

Rang Home Services & Repairs, spoke to Sophie who took a booking fee of £118.82 confirmed a local drain unblocked would attend that day. Martyn the drain unblocker rang, said he'd attend at 5pm same day, told us he was from Glasgow!!! So, not local as advertised, 2 hrs drive away!!! Turned up, un equipped, used what tools we had (albeit borrowed from a kind neighbour) got said equipment stuck down drains, left at 8.30pm, came back next day at 10am, all way from Glasgow, dug a hole close to blocked drain, broke pipe which flooded dug hole with water, filled it back in, said we'd got corroded old iron drains!!! We knew they were glazed pot pipes so didn't ring true, tried pulling stuck rods out by using his tow hook on his car, failed miserably. Offered to cut through all our drain pipes, kitchen drain, bathroom drain and toilet drain so we could place buckets under them to get us moving again and suggested full replacement of drainage system. Left at 12.30pm lunch time but charged us £850.00 Yes £850.00 for 6 hours work. When questioned about this, Martyn the drain man informed us the Home Serives & Repairs who had booked him, was told to charge customer a minimum of £85.00 up to £145.00 per half hour!!!! We paid £700.00 of the invoice as that was maximum bank would allow by a phone transaction. Rang Home Services to complain, Sophie wouldn't listen and put phone down on us. We were left with damaged drains and 17 metres of drain rods stuck down our drains. Have since had to excavate and sort out ourselves the damage the workman caused after leaving us in a worse state than we were in before he arrived. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Do not do business with them. I have paid £102 including VAT via phone for the organising the plumber service for the next day. I've been sent the confirmation saying this payment will cover the call out charge and there was to be only the repair cost to pay with the specialist. I've been given the contact detils. When called the plumber I've been told there would be another £120 charge for the call out. Plus any work cost. So, basically I was to be cheated on and charged tice for the same service. I have called the Home Services & Repair and asked for the money return. I've spoken to 3 people and I've been only told their manger would contact me within 24 hrs.Manager never called. I claim charge back with my credit card now.
Please be carefull when dealing with them or best - do not.

Do not use this service they are a con i advertised for an electrician to install my hive thermostat charged me £100 just for him to find an electrician after 4 days finally came then told me he had to change the consumer unit charged me £900 then never came back to install the hive so now I'm £1000 down and still have not got the hive fitted do not use update I have had a professional electrician look at it hes told me that it did not need doing at all he just scammed me out of my money so now I will name him so if anyone gets a quote from this stay clear he will rip you off his name is Mr Ryan A Redmond he lives in the wirrall and his girlfriend is called Laura she may answer the phones be warned .

Brilliant service great to get a worker here within the day as most were busy for weeks ahead. When you need something done asap call these guys. Guys was especially helpful.

Alex was here on time polite, efficient and friendly. Assessed the job and made a timely decision for us which was all very re-assuring.
A day later we have ordered a new appliance/fridgefreezer
