Not Recomended at all
I asked this company to check and provide EICR for my rented property, and they noted down quite a few issues. As I had upgraded my CU 4.5 years ago, they quoted me around 600 pound to fix, those supposing issues!! I got suspicious and asked another company to come and test it. They checked in my own presence, and only smoke alarm battery required changing! Be very careful if you think of employing this company for your electrical testing as I ended up paying for two company!

There are serious and dangerous electrical faults which need to be addressed at your property.
You have type AC RCD modules which can become blinded by all of the appliances and LED lighting in your property. The regulations changed in 2023 after your new consumer unit was installed. These need to be changed to type A RCD's.
You may like to consider how many of the following will be in use at the property, each of these emit DC residual currents. Your type AC RCD's have been proven not to function correctly with these DC currents in the installation:
• Laptop chargers • Phone chargers • Dishwashers • Fridge/freezers (inverter type) • Induction hobs • Microwaves • Washing machines • Wi-Fi routers • Gaming consoles • Set-top boxes / streaming devices • USB sockets • Battery chargers (tools, vacuums, etc.) • Electric toothbrush / shaver chargers • Smart thermostats • Modern boilers (PCB controlled) • Air purifiers / electronically controlled fans • Vacuum cleaner charging docks • Televisions • Set-top boxes • Gaming consoles etc.
IP rating compromised on front of the consumer unit, any child or vulnerable person can easily insert a finger or tool into the housing and receive what could be a lethal electric shock.
Over-rated protective device to the boiler, this is rated 32 amps on a 2.5 mm cable. This is too high and is a fire risk.
Loose hanging cables at the consumer unit, these can be a very dangerous choking or electric shock risk to children and vulnerable persons.
You seem to be taking comfort in that someone has told you these are not serious concerns. Please do not be lulled into a false sense of security. Just as in the MOT industry you can find operators who are willing to just issue a satisfactory certificate and walk away.
If anything should happen to your tenants it is you that bears the responsibility.
Our report is factual and correct, if you wish to ignore the findings that is entirely your choice.
Your tenant should definitely commission his own independent inspection by another properly accredited electrical testing company.
We quoted you a grand total of £310 plus VAT to correct all of the C2 issues in your property. It would seem this is far too much for you to spend on your tenant's safety

Yes we acknowledged that you had paid for the 12 circuits in your installation.
This does not automatically make your installation satisfactory.
You have three C2 faults at the property and four C3 recommendations for improvement.
The C2 faults should not be ignored for the safety of your tenants.
But it is up to you.
From Zoopla we note that construction started in 2012 and that the property has decreased in value over the intervening period.
We quoted you a grand total of £550 plus VAT for the safety of your tenants. It seems this is too much for you to make their home safe.

Good service, I would recommend Hexo.
When I needed an EICR, I looked up the company on Google to do it for me. I chose to do this with the Hexo company.
The booking process was simple.
I was able to choose a date and time that suited me perfectly. Hexo also contacted my tenant directly and handled all arrangements on my behalf.
And it was arranged with my tenants, so I had no stress. The remedial works were arranged quickly
The Service was efficient and stress-free.
The staff was very good and courteous, and the job was carried out smoothly.

Do not use for EICR
Awful experience. EICR cert was a week late despite paying for an express service. Engineer only spent 20 mins testing and recommended changing all out all switches to resolve fail - this turned put to be false as a look on line rang alarm bells and I did another assessment that took 2 hours and said this was wrong.

The RCBO protection on your ELECTRIC SHOWER is over-rated.
Your use of an overrated RCBO (Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overload) on an electric shower means the breaker is rated for a higher amperage than the wiring can safely handle (this is a 40A RCBO on a 32A-rated cable). If the RCBO is overrated, it may fail to trip during an overload, leading to the following dangers:
Cable Overheating and Fire Hazard: The electrical cables will overheat if the shower draws more current than the cable’s capacity.
An oversized RCBO allows this excessive current to flow for too long, potentially causing insulation to melt and leading to electrical fires.
Melting Components: The high current can cause terminals in the shower unit and the isolation switch to overheat, resulting in melted plastic, scorched wires, and damaged components.
Voided Insurance/Warranty: Installing an over-rated RCBO violates safety standards, which can void both the product warranty and home insurance, particularly in the event of a fire.
You seem to be taking great comfort in that someone has very wrongly and irresponsibly told you these are not serious concerns. Please do not be lulled into a false sense of security.
If anything should happen to your tenants it is YOU that bears the responsibility.
Our report is factual and correct, if you wish to ignore the findings that is entirely your choice.
For their own safety your tenant MUST absolutely commission his own independent inspection by another properly accredited electrical testing company.
They do not have correctly functioning RCD protection on all their socket circuits and lighting circuit. If there is an electrical fault on any appliance switched on there is a risk of electrocution. They are at risk of fire because you have installed an overrated RCBO on the shower.
We quoted you just £290 plus VAT to make the required rectifications. It seems this is more than the safety of your tenants is worth to you.

Misleading pricing, hidden fees, and aggressive upselling
Avoid Hexo Electrical Testing at all cost!
I strongly advise caution when considering Hexo Electrical Testing. Like many other reviewers have unfortunately experienced, their initial low pricing appears to be a front for hidden fees and extensive upselling.
I booked an EICR for my newly built flat based on a very competitive initial quote. On the day of the inspection, there was zero communication regarding any change in scope. However, after the inspection, they demanded additional money, claiming "more circuits were tested" than originally quoted. They completely withheld the report until this surprise fee was paid.
When I finally received the EICR, they gave my newly built flat an "UNSATISFACTORY" rating. Conveniently, they followed this up with a £720 quote for remedial work. Rather than fixing the alleged issue in isolation, they claimed they needed to upgrade the entire RCD and SPD board because individual parts were "not available."
Luring customers in with below-market prices, holding reports hostage for unapproved extra charges, and attempting to upsell hundreds of pounds of unnecessary full-board replacements on a new build is an incredibly poor way to do business. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a transparent and honest service.

I contacted this company after I was looking for someone to do our EICR checks
They asked me to send them pictures of our electrical cupboard so they can see how many circuits we have got I did 2 pictures and they said that I’ve got twenty’s and I emphasis to the agent to double check pictures it maybe there’s more he said that what I’m seeing in pictures and that’s our price I said that is bargain but he mentioned that if the electrician find more they will charge me for £10 each extra circuit I paid the deposit and the number of circuits we agreed by the pictures but it comes the day to issue EICR certificate I was shocked 😳 by the amount of extra circuits they want me to pay for it was almost triple price
So the resume of this experience is they give you small price in their quotation until you fall in their trap and then when it comes to get your certification this you will see the real quotation that didn’t share it with you in first place.
Please is misleading and dishonest situation and try to avoid them as much as possible. Scammers
