Gardening Express Omdömen 

I ordered a fig tree from Gardening Express on 29 August. According to the tracking information, DHL was supposed to collect and deliver it on 10 September, but the status has been stuck on "delayed" ever since. DHL’s website says to contact the sender which I’ve done twice via email and received no response.
Gardening Express provides no phone number, and their customer service is completely unresponsive. I’ve been left in the dark with no idea when or if my order will arrive. This is unacceptable for any retailer, especially one selling live plants.
I will not be ordering from Gardening Express again and strongly advise others to avoid them unless they drastically improve their communication and delivery reliability.

Awful company! Only 1 of 3 plants arrived and the rest was damaged in transit. I asked for a refund and no one replies and they didn’t process a refund either, it was almost 3 weeks since the delivery and I had to report the transaction to my bank to get a refund of almost £80. Very sketchy and unprofessional company.

I placed an order for £131 on 2/9 haven’t received any correspondence haven’t received order and have tried to get a refund and still ongoing. Terrible customer services. Unfortunately I didn’t see these reviews in time. All I can think of now from the lack of any context is that they are committing fraud.

I ordered two Clematis on 05 July 2025, order number 700830961. Delivery was due in 3-5 days, but took 18 days, hardly express. The pick list is dated 5 July 2025.
The parcel was finally delivered yesterday on 23 July, in full view left by the side door & not in a safe place with the neighbours.
The plants look awful, dried-up, brown leaves, manky & not something that you would be happy to put against your company name.
One of the clematis does not have a label on the pot, so we do not know if we have the correct plant. The other is labelled Clematis Crystal Fountain.
Please send us two replacements as this is clearly not acceptable. I sent photos to Gardening Express, then eventually they asked for more photos. Never had a response. WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN, NO PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT THEM, NO BETTER THAN SCAMMERS.

After a two week wait, the plant arrived in an undamaged box. Inside it was so dry it ad shriveled and the leaves and stems gone brittle.

I tried to contact you, but got an email saying a wait of at least 4 days for a reply!!! Still heard nothing.

Waste of money and awful/non existent customer service

very poor communication, messaged numerous times about order, never got back to me and also took a week to dispatch my order ‘won’t be ordering again’

Awful company . Received half dead undersized bamboo plant from them.

They just kept making excuses . Refusing to rectify the problem. Totally ignoring my statutory rights .

Dreadful non existent customer service . Levi the contact person was very belligerent and unhelpful.

Obviously they are only interested in taking your money and abusing your rights .

Never buy anything from them if your wise !

Terrible company and customer service. I’m £200 out of pocket and they don’t answer any emails. I don’t know how they get away with it. My order from a month ago is still missing

Ordered two palms one was ok the other was dying

My responsibility for return postage palm can't have been repotted and the 14 day return date had expired

Plant was not as advertised.. Useless customer service .. total misnomer .. should be customer no service .. Currently taking legal action ..

Ordered 3 items.
One was clearly advertised as in bud or flower, what I received was a blind plant.
I complained by email, as there is no telephone number on the website.
I received a reply several days later, that said as plant was healthy what was I complaining about. Several emails back and forth and they said they would refund the £7.99 in a vouchure, as a gesture of goodwill. Joke as p &p is £6.99. I pointed this out but heard nothing back.
I vowed never to used them again and advise other people not to waste their money.

This can't be legitimate, no contact telephone number, no response to the online contact...We ordered a plant nearly a week ago and still no tracking... I'm puzzled, why Gardening Express?!

Before posting on here I did try emailing and looked for other ways to contact Gardening Express, but I have not heard anything from them which is extremely disappointing and after reading all the negative reviews I now understand why they don’t have a contact phone number.

I brought items from the website and they are nothing like what I ordered. The pots which two of them were split and apart from soil everywhere, the plants were leaning over and clearly damaged. The next two “plants”, if you can call them were sellotaped together and completely broken and can’t be salvaged at all.

I look forward to hearing from them, but by the amount of bad reviews on here, I won’t hold my breath, and the only alternative I’ll be left with is doing a chargeback with my bank.

If you are thinking of buying from this company, please don’t waste your time or your money.

I used this company some years ago and was disappointed but thought I would give them a chance again. Big mistake!! The plants that arrived were in very poor condition and have not survived. I contacted them, attaching photographs and was asked for details (including photographs!). I sent the details (and more photographs) but since then, despite follow-up emails, I've heard nothing. From other reviews it appears that Gardening Express's usual practice is to ignore customer complaints and this is certainly my experience with them. I won't bother ordering from them again - no matter how much of a 'bargain' their offer looks!

Waited 3 weeks for my £343.00 delivery of plants & compost with no updates at all. Majority of plants dead on arrival, &/or snapped leaves, damaged plants, broken pots. I believe these plants were cooked up in transit for a long time. Took photos & emailed. Got an automated response 1 week later telling me to water them!!! I’d do it the proper way, visit a garden centre or nursery & pick your own. Compost was fantastic but I’d never recommend for plants. Total waste of my time & very hard earned cash.

Absolutely terrible company. Plants arrive in poor condition and when an enquiry is made as to whether the growth coming from within the roots of a magnolia will produce the actual species ordered the company continually ignore any communication. Really dreadful DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Never received all my order so overpaid and never got a refund. Plants that did arrive were half dead and poor quality. Customer service just ignored my emails. No longer use the company.

£40 of plants ordered . Took my money with no contact at all . Can’t contact them . It’s like throwing money down a grid . Only generic rubbish e mails back . Il be contacting trading standards .

Any company that has no phone for customer services should ring alarm bells, but don't worry you can send multiple messages and emails and they will ignore those too.
I received my order in 2 separate parcels..6 days between. The first set of plants looked just about ok but since most have died. The second parcel were mostly dead or rotten or damaged. When I say dead I mean dead..grey and crispy.
Of course no one replied to my first ( of many) messages until today. A generic email saying if im not happy then i can return the plants ( at my own cost!) ...you can't make this up!!! Obviously avoid like a pile of doggie ****.

Avoid using this company.
Ordered 2 Bamboo plants, took over a week to arrive and are nothing like the ones pictured on the website, very little green on them, mostly dried up and dead. Complete waste of money. Emailed them to complain but no response from them, going to have to try to claim money back from my credit card company.
