First box will be my last box
I received my first box and totally disappointed. A can of lager which I was very surprised about and neither of us drink alcohol. A very poor mix of items of which at least half we would not eat. Some sesame squares which were like chewing a lump of wood. So for the money I paid I basically have a couple of cans of drink and some olives. I also thought it was supposed to be new things on the market, fentimans lemonade has been about for a while. I have spent nearly all day trying to cancel my subscription but am struggling to find out how. Not a company I would recommend

Hello Yummy Box is a monthly subscription, however you are able to pause or skip a box anytime.
You can find our payment information on the FAQ page of our website and in our Terms and Conditions, which states that payment for your first box will be taken right away when you sign up. After that, your second box will be charged automatically on the 11th of the month, unless you decide to skip, pause, or cancel. From your third box onward, youâll be charged automatically on the 1st of each month - unless of course, you fancy a little break!
We do our best to pack each box with something for everyone, but as itâs a surprise selection each month, weâre not currently able to customise for specific allergies, intolerances, or preferences. That means there might occasionally be an item thatâs not quite right for you.
We hope you give Hello Yummy Box another try soon!

Very disappointing! The contents were very basic items I could buy in any supermarket a lot cheaper than the subscription price! Cancelled immediately! Avoid avoid avoid!

Tried this place as it looks goodâŠ
Tried this place as it looks good trying different snacks. And claiming to be a value of ÂŁ35 in the box I thought ok I'll try for ÂŁ15.99.
When the box arrived I had short dated items to be used with a week.
The box contents were no more ÂŁ13 in value. The items were not what I saw on any of the pre advertised pictures.
It is a complete disaster.
This company is clearly only interested in misleading people and not fulfilling there claims.
I have written proof my box should have ÂŁ35 of value and I have researched each item individually and it came to ÂŁ12.97.
I will be contacting trading standards and the advertising watchdog in regards to this as I and I'm sure a number of other people have been misled into subscribing.
I would avoid this place at all costs.
Don't waste hard earned money on false claims and rubbish items.

ÂŁ20 box was missing an item (a non alcoholic beer) - when I raised it I was told I'd get a refund... They gave me a ÂŁ1 refund. Not sure that really cuts it!

I've been wanting to try this companyâŠ
I've been wanting to try this company for a while and finally bit the bullet. The T&C's are unnecessarily complicated and the first three delivery dates are, quite frankly, bewildering. The delivery took much longer than expected and although there was a nice selection of goods, two of the items (both crisps) were in crumbs due to poor packaging and the little snack/protein bars were also squashed. Everything was still edible but damaged enough that if you bought from a shop you would be returning and asking for a refund. Unfortunately all but three of the items I can easily find in my very basic rural island shop so the main reason for signing up was negated. I decided to cancel my subscription the next morning but by then it was too late and the next payment had already been taken and the next box shipped. I'd literally taken receipt of the first box the day before. I contacted the company immediately and asked for a cancellation and refund, explaining my reasoning and dissatisfaction with both delivery and content. The response was swift and in a practised tone of the email from Betsy confirmation of my subscription was there but they were keeping my money and hoped I would enjoy the contents of what I expect to be another disappointing and delayed delivery of their product. I would avoid this company and just make more of an effort to explore your local shops as all of my box bar a few bits can be found there. And also unlikely to be damaged which Betsy neglected to apologise for in her very professional and experienced response.
At Betsy's request I am updating my review to confirm that a partial refund of ÂŁ4 was issued for the four damaged items. I can also confirm that the second, unwanted, box was delivered much quicker that the original but, again, had damaged items in it. This time it was the packet of standard Jacob's Crackers and the cracker bites package. Overall the selection was good and nicely varied but nothing you can't find in your local supermarket (seriously, I live on an island at the back of beyond and all but one item this time are readily available to me) so I can say with confidence I've tried them but they aren't a company I would return to.

Our customer service member Betsy has since been in touch regarding your damaged items to clarify exactly what was damaged, and a partial refund has been issued for these items. Following this, we would appreciate if your review could be updated to reflect the service you have received.

Excellent customer service
I have actually not received a box yet but excellent customer service so wanted to leave this as a review.
Royal Mail delivered my parcel to a wrong address and I couldn't find it. I contacted the customer service and received a refund immediately. I asked if I could have a new discount code to try the May box instead and again, they immediately placed a new order with the discount.
I hope not to have any delivery issues in the future but if I do, I now know that they will respond promptly and take me serious.

I have had this on subscription for over a year but...
I have had this on subscription for quite a while now; however, I have recently cancelled. When we started getting it, we got interesting cooking ingredients, like lovely apple cider vinegar and various vegan things that we had not tried before, but lately, the boxes just come full of crisps and sweets. I think it was great value to start with, but has really gone downhill.

Shrinkflation!
Have had this subscription for over a year and I have definitely noticed shrinkflation. The boxes have got smaller and smaller and now have less value for money. They tend to be aligned with the same brands all the time. I am not happy with all the non alcoholic drinks and soft drinks with artificial sweeteners and bags of sweeties and too many unusual hot sauce condiments. In the beginning, the boxes had high value items like chewable vitamins. Now, I just feel like I am being ripped off. It's a shame, as I enjoyed the surprise element.

Poor cancellation
Signed up for this box to give it a trial, I wasn't really impressed with this, so I wanted to cancel. Used the website to navigate me to cancel, which told me to email to cancel. So I emailed and cancelled which was fine, until Hello Yummy continued to attempt taking the payments (good thing I don't keep money in my main account). I got back in contact and near enough a week later I got a response saying it was cancelled and I could do this on the website which is completely false, as when I wanted to cancel the website told me to email for cancellation. Seems to be conflicting information with the website and the agents and no help with cancelling.
Update: I never logged into my account once I initially cancelled on the 14th, I had to get in contact a second time om the 17th to ensure this was cancelled as I was told on the 14th it was after I kept seeing bank ststements showing attempted payments, I never accessed the account until the 17th when I was advised that I could cancel on the website which you have now stated this only came onto the website on the 20th well after I asked to cancel.

Since Monday the 20th, we have enabled customers to cancel their own subscription and manage their account independently. We're so excited to have launched this feature, and we hope that it makes cancelling or skipping a box much easier for you in future.

I love my Helloyummy boxes! I hardly ever leave reviews but they deserve a better rating so thought Iâd chime in.
Iâve had 4 boxes so far and each one Iâve been very happy with. Unlike other similar companies, Iâve not had any issues with deliveries, missing or misleading products. The products are always of high quality and well thought out, rarely is there something I wouldnât have (minus the odd alcoholic drink or gelatin thing).
Itâs my little surprise gift to myself each month :)
Ps. Anyone complaining about their customer service, subscription/cancellation just didnât bother reading their website. Betsy has been a star!

Not impressed
I received a discounted trial, so I thought why not try something new. Unfortunately, I am not impressed. The items just seemed random, and I had duplicates and I'm not gonna lie the options just seemed like stuff nobody likes so they've shoved it in a box to market is as something new to try!

AVOID. No way to cancel subscription. Non-existent customer service
Non-existent customer service. After receiving an incomplete and thoroughly disappointing first box, I tried to cancel my subscription which is impossible to do online. I sent an email, as instructed, on 9/4 cancelling my subscription. No reply. On 11/4 I received an email thanking me for ordering a second box for which I would be billed ÂŁ15.99. I have sent further emails (there is no other way of contacting this company) and they are just being ignored. I assume this is a scam.
It is now 13/4 and I have still received no reply.

Update
After my initial review, the company responded and confirmed that my subscription has now been cancelled and no further payments will be taken, which I appreciate.
Everything has now been resolved properly, and Iâm satisfied that the cancellation has been handled correctly.
My initial concern was mainly around the delay in receiving a clear response when I first reached out to cancel, which caused some uncertainty at the time. I also have not received my first box at that point, so I not currently able to assess the product itself.
Overall, while the experience felt a bit stressful at the start, the outcome has been fair and everything is now sorted.
