Hagens Bees Limited Omdömen 

I bought some fat balls, which the birds absolutely loved, and it gave them the energy to get through the heat wave. They were delicious looking and they lasted a good while. But even more exciting than this is that I bought two different styles of bird feeder. Both of these are hanging feeders, and both of them are absolutely pigeon proof. And this is specifically what I wanted. The ladies at Hagen's Bees was so incredibly patient and helpful on the phone and really listened to my gripes about pigeons taking all the food. They talked me through all of their products and gave me some great ideas and I have finally found something that the pigeons can't poach and destroy. And yet they are perfect for my beautiful corvids and other well-mannered feathered guests. What impressed me most was the customer service and the friendliness and efficiency of the ladies helping... but also the speed with which my awesome products were delivered. I'm going to be a regular customer and highly recommend this company!! You'll see in my photos that the pigeons are still invited as they have their own little feeding trays... but I just wanted the corvids to have something that was strictly their own. I need to get some more fat balls from Hagen's Bees and fill up those hanging feeders, as you can see from the photos. Suffice to say some very happy feathered friends on the balcony! If you look on Google reviews I've added photos of the beautiful birds on the balcony enjoying their feeders.

Not pleased with this company they sent half my order and assured me the rest will be delivered the next day , so the order has just arrived and guess what it’s only half of that order , they send 55 frames instead of 110 so that’s left me behind in making my frames up today ready for tomorrow and also they advertised 1kg of nails and they only sent 250g ?? The woman I spoke to didn’t sound bothered either no apology or nothing .
Won’t be using them ever again 😡

Well there's always good and bad in life but my experience with Hagen bee's is nothing but good. Bought a good strong colony in early May, queen was easily identifiable and they have developed into a strong hive, production is good and they are really quite passive, I doubt I would have got any better else where so for me, I would definitely recommend them.

Bought a queen bee off them and very pleased.
Their updates on my purchase was very good and arrived exactly as said.
The posting and packaging of the queen with attendants was very good too.
In regards of the quality/condition of the queen she was a very good one. Other suppliers I have used were no where near of the same standard.
I will use them again when I look to purchase a replacement queen due the quality if her and their overall service and price.

Dealt with Hagens for most of my bee journey! Fantastic throughout, latest was personalised labels- couldn’t thank them enough. Does feel like you are dealing with a family business- keep it up!

For the price, i thought i was buying quality! Colony was not very big, plywood nuc was too deep for the frames so they had built comb on the bottom of the frames and no marked queen. I did email them to ask why and was told "The disk has probably dropped off". Also, there was not a lot of brood on the 2 frames of brood and 1 frame was less than 50% drawn. I was envious that i seen Black Mountain Honey nucs being sent out 2 weeks before hand. They are sent in a poly nuc with built in feeder and from experi

Faulty Nuc Colony and No Customer Support

I purchased a nuc colony in July 2025 which unfortunately failed due to lack of brood and a poorly performing queen.

From the beginning, I followed proper care procedures, including adding additional frames and providing regular feeding. Despite this, the colony declined and eventually collapsed.

I raised this issue with the company and provided clear photographic evidence and explanations. However, instead of offering a solution, I was repeatedly given inconsistent responses, including claims of poor management without proper assessment.

I was also sold the nuc as containing a Carniolan queen, but the queen supplied did not match expected characteristics and showed weak laying performance.

The company has since stopped responding to my emails and declined to resolve the issue.

I am currently seeking advice from Citizens Advice regarding this matter.

Very disappointing experience and lack of customer support.
