Fault with riser/reclinr mechanism

Reported problem with riser/recliner chair yesterday afternoon. (Part of mechanism had broken apart.) Technician (Darren) arrived at 10.30 this morning and carried out the repair. All completed within 24 hours. Can’t get better than that. Very pleased with the service I received from Darren and Guardsman. Well done all.See less

Alun was very polite and friendly and informative of the process and explained the insurance cover clearly so I understand what he was able
To do. My sofa was cleaned and I saw a massive difference, the proof was in the colour of the water at the end.

Alun was a really lovely chap, and explained the process clearly. A very polite professional chap. I can't speak highly enough of him, the company and the service I receive.

Very disappointed with how long it took…

Very disappointed with how long it took to repair our settee was told 2 weeks but took an extra week to fit a new switch all together 5weeks very pleasant engineer no problem with him just the customer service

Waste of time

Waste of time, they don’t want to actually do anything. Don’t be fooled by dfs making out if they will cover for pen or accidental damage when actually they come out then basically say youv mis used your sofa! Will never buy insurance again and it’s put me off buying from DFS!

Communication was pitterful
No one wanted to help
Took an age to get any kind of appointment.
But on the plus side if there is one the tech who did arrive was very helpful and very professional

They did exactly as they said they…

They did exactly as they said they would. Firstly they sent a wipe which was brilliant and took of 99% of the stain .I contacted they and explained and they then sent out a gentleman to remove remaining residue ,which was 100% successful.I am delighted with the service and outcome . A very easy company to deal with.

10/10 on all counts

The upholstery professional that attended was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and very good at what they did. Shame they are retiring. But either way, they were 10/10 on all counts.

I made a repair claim in March 2025

I made a repair claim in March 2025, it took until March 2026 to get a technician booked to carry out the repair as apparently the manufacturer of my sofa was in Italy and there was delays in getting the parts. The appointment was booked for a month after I received the parts, another lengthy delay !
It was a 2 day appointment as there was a couple of repairs needed. I was told the technician would arrive between 12-5. At 4pm on the day I called guardsman to make sure he was definitely coming, I was told, yes he would definitely be here as I was on the job sheet. No technician arrived.
I called at 9am the next morning,I was put on hold for a few minutes then to be told the technician had actually passed away a few weeks before!!! Absolutely appalling that guardsman hadn’t allocated his jobs to another technician or even bothered to notify customers who were expecting their repair to be carried out of this development.
I have lodged a complaint and been told I’ll now need to wait weeks again for a technician to be allocated the job
Guardsman are a shambles of a company, they don’t have a clue what they are doing with regards to customer service and I will never take guardsman insurance again when buying a sofa, it’s not worth the paper it’s written on, and I would advise anyone offered this insurance not to take it, if you need to make a claim for a repair you are in for a lot of stress trying to get one
