Very informative in plant identification, history, science, law and how to forage and use the plants. It was very interactive and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend the forage and nibble experience. Jim was so knowledgeable and informative. The time flew by as we made our discoveries. Can’t believe how much stuff is actually edible! The chicken of the woods mushrooms and common hogweed we found was delicious, along with the pre-made sushi. Yum yum. Will definitely do another one at a different time of year, absolutely loved it! Thanks Jim!

As advertised it was a relaxed and interesting walk. As a slow walker this was very manageable. Learnt loads about how to use my weeds from the garden which was a bonus! Host Jim was very knowledgeable and friendly and made us a tasty stir-fry from our finds to go with his homemade sushi. What a wonderful way day to spend a morning!

Rachel made the experience very interesting and informative. Would definitely recommend. I'm going again at a different time of year.

The Forest of Dean setting was superb and it was easy to find the meeting point. Freya our guide, was absolutely lovely. She gave us all a very warm welcome and within minutes found a specimen of the most poisonous plant to avoid- hemlock! Freya was clearly passionate about mushrooms and other plants and also about cooking. Her enthusiasm was so infectious we were all salivating about how we could enhance simple dishes at home with local free finds from nature. I didn't know what to expect when she mentioned that she would be rustling up some dishes for us, but we were well and truly spoilt! Freya put so much thought into prepping our meal that if I could, I would award six stars out of five. To top it all, after the session had finished, my husband and I had a stroll through the forest and discovered Chicken in the Woods almost straightaway!

It was my first foraging walk. Really enjoyed the experience. Emily was great, so knowledgeable and sweet! We covered many medicinal plants and had a nice herbal tea at the end. The location was great too.

An excellent day out Lewis was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone was safe whilst tasting different plants. I learnt a lot but also it reinforced a lot of the information that I already knew. The end of day tasting around a camp fire was wonderful.

A lovely event great for mature people interested in nature, cooking, health, foraging and resourcefulness. Freya has great character and keeps you engaged, remaining light-hearted, informative and funny. Will definitely be looking out for a future event from her! :)

The walk leader was very knowledgeable. I felt it was rather overpriced but still an enjoyable experience.

I enjoyed learning about foraging, how to identify the various plants and the snack at the end was really tasty, quite a surprise. I plan to have another go soon. All in all it was a good time.

Wow! We had a fantastic time in the outdoors, with our family, learning about foraging in Sale. I wasn't sure my children (in their 20's) would enjoy themselves, but we all came away chatting and excited about the new experiences and fun we'd all had. The couple of hours was a great success and sped by so quickly! The taster session we did was perfect for us, as we had never tried foraging before. Our guide Jim, was friendly, fun, helpful and had lots of interesting information about all the plants, including safety and full instructions on consumption. This made finding and tasting new things great fun and stress free, especially as the experience was shared by the group too. This session was very inclusive and nobody was left behind or left out. There were individuals, couples and families and I would highly recommend anyone to give it a go! There was plenty of parking locally and footpaths. We now want to book one of the longer sessions to learn even more. Thank you Forage Box for such a fantastic day!
