AVOID - Auto-renewal scam

This is insane, the year is 2025 and this company will take money out of your account without any notifications prior to the renewal.

Imagine having a yearly subscription you forgot about and they just TAKE the money without letting you know, and then will not give it back if you notice literally within 15 minutes (we reached out, your response time was conveniently late)? This is straight up robbery.

And the fact that you HAVE to have a card in your profile just points more towards the fact that they are intentionally doing this. Just to milk money from unaware people.

Avoid at all costs. This is a company that does not care about their consumer.

Terrible service

Terrible service.
Original purchased a black Friday deal, no email to say you will have a renewal. They just take the money out, and then say you cannot get a refund.
They are just robbing hard working people.
As a customer you have a right to return if purchasing an item.
Just don't even bother.

My experience replicates others…. AVOID!

My experience replicates others on here. I signed up for the seven day trial and it rolled onto a subscription. When I tried out the app for the first time it was very apparent that it wouldn’t meet my needs. I contacted customer service and they confirmed that they could indeed see I hadn’t used the app in the trial period, that I had completed one workout in the app before contacting them and accepted that the app didn’t meet my needs. Basically, said ‘tough you should have tried it in the seven day trial.’ I can’t believe that Kristy Cela would want to have this kind of reputation of her company and these kinds of reviews on her trustpilot - however, given that this is probably a reflection of the true person behind the scenes it’s also time to unfollow and be de-influenced!

Auto-renewal scam

I’m so disappointed with my experience using the EvolveYou app, particularly the Auto-renewal and I feel scammed.

The company sends frequent marketing emails, yet I received no notice that my annual membership was about to renew. I’ve also been refused a refund. Not sending a notification that the membership is auto-renewing is unethical - seems really shady and not a company I would consider renewing in the future with / support. This experience has really changed my perception of the company.

EvolveYou should be honest and transparent with its customers by sending a clear reminder before a membership renews. Even the responses via email are generic and offer no room for understanding at all.

Auto renewal - SCAM

Disgusting business, auto-renewal with no notification reminder. I used the app once on a free trial 12 months prior.
Contacted the day I saw the £80 leave my bank and there was no help, simply stated in your sign up you agree to auto renewal. On cancelling it even states don't leave yet you have paid for 364 more days!
Watch out.

Takes money for subscriptions you have not authorised, no way of logging in, no prior warning, no way of a refund, no communication from them ever either other than just receiving a receipt AFTER they have taken the payment. Extremely unhappy.

Hi Abbie, as mentioned in our email response all subscriptions are auto-renewing unless a cancellation has been applied at least 24 hours before renewal. Refunds are not eligible, for missed cancellations or unused subscriptions and your subscription details would have been accessible at any stage via your account or on our website.

No reminder email for renewal!!
I contacted the customer services team after noticing the yearly subscription fee of £70 was taken from my account. This company do not bother to send any reminders about the renewal before taking your money. Only once they’ve debited the account do they send you a confirmation. I downloaded this app and set up a subscription last year but due to difficult circumstances I was not able continue. Subsequently I haven’t used the services in just under a year. When I reached out I got very corporate response about T&C’s and that no refund would be given. Would NOT recommend this company unless you are happy with them stealing your money!

Hi Katy, the subscription renewed correctly, as no cancellation was applied beforehand. Inline with our terms and refunds are not issued for any unused subscriptions or missed/late cancellations and all of your subscription information would have been accessible throughout.

No reminder of renewal funds just taken from my account and I would not have signed or given my card details I knew funds would be taken without my permission . Unhelpful customer support and sadly a bad experience now … I had refered friends to this app but will not stop

If my money is returned I will remove my review although until then it’s a 1 star

Thanks for your review. When subscribing, details of your subscription are provided prior to checkout, including the billing date and renewal frequency, and can also be viewed at any time in your account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, as outlined in the T&Cs agreed to at sign-up.
A confirmation email is sent on renewal day notifying subscribers that payment has been processed and the subscription updated. We do allow a short grace period after renewal where refunds may be considered as a gesture of goodwill; however, as your initial contact was outside this timeframe, our standard cancellation and refund policy applies, and no refund will be issued. A cancellation has since been scheduled, and no further charges will be taken.

I had the trial

I had the trial, got no notification that the trial was ending from them or google. Then they take $200AUD out of my account with no warning. It has been declined previously saying that if I didn't update my payment method I would lose access. Never did it say "we will try again later". They told my bank I authorised the payment, so my bank will not do a thing. I can only hope that Google will.

They will blame you for it, this app is nothing special, they are a bunch of high school bullies who have no concept of the real world or life.

Customer service were extremely unhelpful or sympathetic to a genuine mistake.

I signed up online, thinking i was accessing the free trial. You click a button that says start your free trial and then are given two options 1 year or 1 month. I chose 1 month as I could not afford the full year in one go and i wanted to give the app a go before trying it for a full year. However, the free trial was only available for the 1 year option so i was charged straight away. Realising my mistake I cancelled straight away and emailed them to let them know my mistake and there was no flexibility to amend this. They refused to refund me and instead told me that i need to read the T&C's.

I was really excited to use this app and try it out as i have heard great things but they need to be more accommodating to a mistake when they happen - fair enough if i had used the whole month on the app, but it was day 1!

This is so misleading and a terrible customer service experience

Love it!

I tried this app a few years ago and struggled with general tech and ended up with 2 accounts that I did not want. They were brilliant and gave me a refund but they cancelled everything they had in my name so I could start afresh. I was a bit unnerved to try again but knowing how good their customer service was I signed up last week. I’ve completed 3 workouts and I’m delighted how easy it is for me to follow. I’m still working my way through it all but I think this is exactly what I needed. I’m completing these from home at the moment until my confidence grows then I’m hoping to join the local gym.

Signed up for the free trial and they immediately charged me for a full year subscription

Signed up for the free trial and once it ended was charged the full yearly subscription. I contacted Evolve you to change my yearly subscription of £100 to the monthly subscription (as I was never given the chance to opt for this option).Unfortunately the customer service got back to me too late for me to then get a refund from the Apple Store. The customer service displayed no efforts to provide a refund either. A real money grabbing company from my experience. Will not be recommending to others.

It is the best app ever, i love, love, love it. I love the trainers and i love all the programs I've completed so far, I joined in January 2023 and I have never been so consistent before this im getting stronger and stronger, thank you so much x x x

Amazing!!

This app is amazing! I absolutely love Krissy and her team. The app is easy to use, pick a program and follow. With in action visual examples of the exercises, or the option to switch each exercise for a similar option. Everyone complaining about the money being withdrawn from their account with the free trail did not read and pushed buttons. Yes there is a free trail and if you don't cancel it (which is simple to do) yes you will be charged. 10/10 and definitely worth the $100 yearly charge. You basically have a personal trainer for like .5% of the cost.

7 day free trial is a SCAM to take £99.99

I debated using evolve you as I had done roughly 3-4 years prior. But when I could see the free trial option for a yearly membership I thought okay I’ll give it a go.

Instead of having a free trial they took the 99.99 immediately. There was absolutely NOTHING to warn me that they would take the money straight away if I had previously had a free trial (this was 3/4 years ago). Apparently you’re meant to guess this from the way Apple took the money immediately.

It’s a SCAM.

There is a reason why the free trial applies ONLY to annual memberships of £99.99. I wonder why they don’t apply these to the monthly memberships? Is it to try and make as much money from people who have had previous free trials or go over the free trial by a day or two?

I applied for a refund 6 minutes after I had realised. 6 minutes? And they won’t refund me for an annual membership.

It’s diabolical!

The only reason I downloaded the app as I followed Krissy Cela for years and the fact they are trying to take advantage by only allowing free trials for annual memberships is disgusting.

You know what you’re doing!

£100 for 6 mins of the app, yay me.
