Awful experience
I turned to Erasmusu because I was desperate to find accommodation abroad, since my first option got cancelled last minute, and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. If you want to request the booking of a place, be ready to pay the first month rent + an exorbitant fee even without seeing the place first nor signing a contract. Several of the rooms/flats that are advertised on the site haven't been checked or verified, which means that they might not look like they do on the pictures - that's what happened to me, I arrived in a room that had little to nothing to do with the pictures I saw online and that was in a pretty bad state. However, when I decided to cancel the booking because it was not what they had promised, they refused to refund any money. Moreover, their landlords are suppossed to be professional, but that was not the case with mine: it was pretty much impossible to contact him until the day of the check-in - with all the stress that entails -, and he was unprofessional and rude in several occassions. The customer service, on the other hand, it's non-existent: prepare to be ghosted until you cannot take it anymore. Overall, an awful experience from the beginning, so please, if you can avoid it, do so. I
Lives up to the expectation
Erasmusu is perfectly able to live up to the expectations of the users. I got a little scared seeing the reviews on their partner Spotahome, but that turned out to be no big deal at all. I arrived at my address 2 days ago and it's completely accurate to the description on the site. Although the communication with the landlord was difficult at times, Erasmusu was able to help me through all of it. Great stuff!

Ils ne sont pas responsables et se cachent derrière des conditions générales.
J'ai réservé une chambre que je devais occuper dans 2 semaines et je l'ai annulée 2 heures après avoir confirmé, ils ne me rendent pas mon argent car selon les politiques, vous ne pouvez annuler que 30 jours avant l'entrée pour recevoir une partie du remboursement, mais si le propriétaire va me faire payer le mois entier pour entrer 3 jours avant l'entrée dans la propriété, c'est un abus et ils devraient être plus flexibles avec le client car ce sont des étudiants qui n'ont pas un très gros budget. C'est un abus de la part de la plateforme qui ne prend pas en charge la situation et s'en lave les mains.

Do not trust them
I thought I was making a request to see if the apartment was available and if I could get in contact with the landlord. Instead it got booked straight away without me knowing it would, so I booked by mistake and wanted to cancel my booking. I got in contact with them but I got no answer. They also say that no money will be withdrawn from the account until the booking has been confirmed by the landlord. This is absolutely not true, immediately when I noticed this I wanted all my money back. If I can't have my money back after a mistake booking that has accidentally been accepted, this is definently one of the worst sites ever. I also have not signed any type of contract which means it is MY money and I should get my money back, especially since I contacted them about the problem less than 30 minutes after booking. If I get my money back I will take this post down. They seem so helpfull with everything but as soon as it comes to cancelation and refunds there is always radio silence according to other people. This is very unprofessional. Would not recommend and be careful if you book. I've seen that some people have been satisfied, but I certainly haven't been. Please give me my money back.

I didn't like the procedure of booking:
-It would be nice to book something, get the "yes" from the landlord and then confirm again. It was very unpleasant getting withdrawn a middle three digit amount via paypal out of "nowhere". I felt scammed.
-The booking fee is very high and I think when the booking gets confirmed it's okay, but not in the case of cancellation! Maybe half if I cancel would be reasonable.
-I was kind of surprised to not get the contract before paying first rent + fee. Don't I need to know what I am paying for/opting into? Since I was dependent on your website, because of my studies abroad, I did it anyway, but not with a great feeling.

They told me I could cancel for free 2 days before the check-in, and they are making me pay the whole fee. This is unacceptable... the worst system ever. They won't tell you some things so you "fall into the trap" and they scam you

I have asked you several times to cancel my booking V1P295-X6. First time was 26.07.2023. Today is the last day with the possibility to cancel the reservation without transferring the rent for the first month to the landlord. Now I once again made a cancellation request through the site. I strongly demand that the amount of 900 euros be returned to me immediately. I don't understand why my request is not processed for several days, you claim that you work seven days a week!

Dissapointing. Although service was ok, required to pay for the entire month even though payments are fortnightly. Was also recommended that most renters want the whole month paid. Website advertises happily that rent is only paid for the time you are there. This is not true.

Houve um erro na cobrança do arrendamento, aluguei para duas pessoas e o valor foi confirmado, após algumas semanas, além de eu não conseguir contactar com o senhorio, me cobraram uma taxa extra. Estou a reclamar a devolução integral do que foi pago.

ich habe über die Webseite ein WG Zimmer gebucht. Vorab wird einem klar gemacht dass Storno 0,0€ kosten anfallen wenn man eine Unterkunft Anfrage schickt.
Ich habe mich auf ein Zimmer beworben und habe nicht nach angegebenen 24h eine Rückmeldung erhalten sondern nach 5 Tagen.
Dementsprechend natürlich weiter geschaut für andere Sachen beworben und am Ende für das 1. Zimmer nach 5 Tagen angenommen worden.
Jetzt wo ich es stornieren möchte fallen in meinem Fall 50% Storno Gebühren und die 150€ Service Pauschale an.

Service Hotline kann nicht auf Sonderfälle eingehen.
Overall würde ich am liebsten 0 Sterne geben.
Very organized
I love how organized and tailored towards students it is. It shows when stuff is available, all the various features, a map, and a great filtering system. I had a fair bit of rejected bookings but by just keeping at it and by requesting one actually recommended to me in an email regarding a rejection, I found what seems to be a great place. Definitely would recommend!
