Yesterday I had to go to the McMillen centure they had me waiting 2 .5 hours for a return , and in the morning the driver turnt up so early I had to wait in the hospital for 2 long hours , and a very mouthy drivers assistant would not stop talking rude , well I have just about had it with emed , I have had to cancel important appointments @ the royal marsden because the last time a driver arrived late, and he said he was in traffic , well how he would get there in 10 mins only god knows, and I am coming from Surrey It’s a joke the staff are rude and even the operators make excuses like they have alot of of patients to pick up , I am not sure if they get it ?we are sick people,they have no respect or dignity, they are appalling , now for the local appointments I have, to organise home visits, or take a taxi , but to get to London is harder yet there always late .⏰ the hospital have many patients to see all is done on appointments, so if we book and tell them we have to be there for a certain time , they always say that department won’t mind , or I go and talk to them they are shocking , and it’s worse speaking to them on the phone , they have no manners we say good morning , good afternoon and good evening what as happen to manners respect and sticking to time . They don’t deserve to serve, it’s a service they don’t follow rules , and they say say were would we be without them ,well would they be without us , it’s a service and a employment opportunity for people to serve . Absolutely shocking 😮 behaviour from this company .

Does not even deserve a star

Does not even deserve a star. Useless service. Their return turn around is pathetic. We had to wait almost 4 hours on two occasions. Then I gave up and ended up getting a wheelchair taxi home. Avoid at all costs.

Uncaring

Unfortunately circumstances mean we have to use this service for my mother. They drop her at appointments and as she has bad mobility just really abandon her there then have to wait 4 hours plus to return. If you can avoid using the service please do.

Turns up 2 hours late

Turns up 2 hours late lies to my mother and found this out after Calling the fracture clinic . Awful service my mental health is destroyed by there treatment and now have no means to see my specialist and left with a knackered knee and a leg in a splint and can't walk 😢 I hate my life so much due to emed group.

Bring back Babylon Health

Ever since Babylon Health switched to EMed the service has decreased significantly. You can only book appts Mon-Fri and you have to go through a full triage service just to book a simple medication review. They don't send medications to pharmacies, and they've now cut their help service hours to Mon - Fri too. So glad I also have a private GP. The NHS is an absolute joke.

A very sick paitent needed transport. EMED transport, making various excuses. e.g 1)Not enough staff. 2)Can't make an arrangment for transport , due to certain distance. 3) Despite giving enought time scale, 4 days notice, unable to make an arrangment for transport. Always an excuse!

Change is needed!!!!

What is wrong with this company. You are dealing with patients, sometimes quite sick people who really don’t deserve to be kept waiting for transport resulting in cancelled appointments. Return travel is dreadful, sitting in hospital reception waiting for nearly two hours after pick up time.
Where is the communication?
Who organises the schedules?
Obviously you must be at the core a caring company, but something needs to change!!

Minus star would be appropriate

Late for my hospital appointments every single time ..then today called them 45 minutes before to check on my transport to hospital for my MRI scan to be told its on route then got called back 1 hour later to say it's cancelled 😡 consultation with my oncologist 19th December has to be cancelled too now can't get a new MRI appointment this year check if my Cancer spread 😡😡

Our experience is simular to the reviews left by other EMED users they are absolutely diabolical & a shambles of an organisation (or disorganisation is more apt) my father has missed several appointments due to them either experiencing staffing shortages, bookings not physically being made after us doing so by phone with them, they don't want to help at all & the patient & relative are made to feel as though we are asking to much of them i.e when my disabled father requires his legs lifting onto the stretcher. Today the crew moaned, swore on a couple of occasions, vaped at every opportuity (not on the ambulance) but outside, even so it's not pleasant. We got to the appointment 30 minutes early but the crew constantly harrassed the hospital department receptionist, nurses & us the patient to hurry up even though it was not my dads official appointment time yet all because they finish at 5p.m. & were more concerned about the motorway congestion. The crew were not compassionate, caring, considerate or friendly which are obviously the key qualities that they should obtain for carrying out their line of work, if you are not caring or somebody that does not like helping vulnerable people or people in general come to think of it then they should find alternative employment in a different field. It is pointless complaining as the manaagement are just as appalling & could not care less. They obviously won the contract that they tendered for as they were the cheapest it was definitely not for their efficiency or professionalism, I hope to god in the new financial year that they lose the contract & a company that gives a damn & are competent with the means to offer a more reliable service. Let's face it it won't be difficult.

One is enough, two is too much, three is a poison that will kill a person

This situation marks the third time we have had to endure an agonizing wait of nearly two hours for transportation to pick us up from the treatment center and take us back home. Each time, the experience has become more frustrating, as we are left without any clear estimate on when we can expect the vehicle to arrive. This lack of communication is particularly alarming, as I could have planned ahead by opting for the bus, which would have taken about the same duration to reach our destination.

Had I been informed of the probable waiting time for the transport service, I would have appreciated the opportunity to make that choice. Taking the bus would at least grant us some measure of certainty, as the bus schedule is more predictable than relying on a service that cannot provide a specific arrival time. It is disheartening to feel ignored and that our time is not being valued throughout this entire process.

Furthermore, I have encountered inconsistencies in the information provided by the staff when I call to inquire about our transport. During one phone call, a staff member assured me that the transportation had already been arranged, only to find out an hour later when I followed up that, in fact, it hadn’t been booked at all. This kind of miscommunication not only wastes valuable time but also reflects poorly on the EMED group’s customer service. It raises concerns about the efficiency and effectiveness of the staff, and it feels as though money is being spent on personnel who are not fulfilling their responsibilities adequately. As a result, the overall experience has significantly deteriorated, and I hope to see improvements in the handling of transport arrangements in the future.

Stay well clear of this appalling service

Appalling. Could not book a simple GP appointment less than 3 weeks in advance. On the day the appointment is cancelled 25 minutes late with no notice or notification. As a result I am left without medication and in danger.

I have unfortunately had to book…

I have unfortunately had to book hospital transport on 3 occasions. T0he first they arrived to pick up 15 minutes after the appointment time about 15 minutes away from the hospital. Second the got me to the clinic 15 minutes late. Today I had a call to say that they couldn't supply the transport due to staff problems and that the hospital had been informed.

Yet another late pickup

E med transport has been a most unreliable company, yet again today waited for transport from Bromsgrove to Kidderminster Hospital for my 91 year old Father, after numerous phone calls to the company trying to get updates on their eta; they arrived 10 mins after his appointment time,when transport finally arrived I was on the phone to the hospital who told me that his appointment and procedure would have to be rescheduled as we would not have gotten to the hospital in time before the clinic closed, the previous week we were 40 mins late for his appointment and the consultant had left and gone home, we then after missing the appointment had to wait almost 4 hours for transport to take us back home, I think that at 91 years of age my father should be treated a lot better than being sat in a wheelchair for this length of time, obviously the company has to tender for these contracts and they do not have the number of staff and vehicles to fulfill these commitments, the loss of appointments due to incompetence and mismanagement must be costing the NHS a fortune , they should definitely be penalised for late and missed appointments, this is no way a dig at the company staff as they are all friendly and professional and go above and beyond, it is all management failures

CANCELLING APPOINTMENT? HOW DARE THEY INTERFERE

I rang for ETA for my Sons transport going to Hospital only to be told that it had been cancelled yesterday, by the Hospital. How would the hospital even know that I had booked transport? AND WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME?
I decided that I would try and get him there myself but luckily I called the hospital first;

Called the Hospital to be told that, EMED ASKED TO RESCHEDULE, the appointment as they could not get him there on time & clinic could not accept him at a later time that day.so EMED cancelled it and said that we knew!! WE DID NOT KNOW!

SO: WHY DID THEY NOT CALL US FIRST?
WAS ANYONE GOING TO TELL US AT ALL?
MOST IMPORTANTLY;
WHY DO THEY THINK THAT THEY CAN CANCEL PATIENTS APPOINTMENTS?
HOW DARE - THEY!!!!
NO STARS AT ALL FROM US

I would like to say that this complaint is not about the crews, every crew that my Son has had, have been great 5 STARS TO THE CREWS

My husband has emed transport …

My husband has emed transport to take him to the new dyalis unit in Wigston Leicester, great we thought as we live near by but since emed patient transport was rewarding the patient transport contract its gone down hill since then leaving not only my husband but many other patients waiting up to 2 hours for transport to take them home. On numerous occasions I have had to go myself to pick my husband up as he has been waiting up to 2 hours for transport, complaint is fruitless they don't want to know terrible company avoid if possible.

Be prepared for a very long wait

This is not an review about the transport staff who were very good. However the company systems do not work. Yesterday my 94 year old father was due to be picked up from hospital following.
a scan at 2.45. We were told there may be a bit of a wait. My 97 year old mother phoned me at 6 worried he was still not home. I called the office who assured me he was next on the list and should be home by 7 well before the my parents carers leave at 8. I was told I would be informed if any change. I received a call from my mother at 8.25, he was still not home! Their carer was wonderful and insisted on staying until Dad got home. He got home at just gone 10pm.

Had appointment at hospital do not agree with the statement from emed

Had appointment at hospital transport failed to turn up
Rang them but they didn't know what had happened and couldnt say if they could get me to attend.
Later got message saying that transport was on the way to pick me up from the hospital.
Second time this has happened when they failed to get me to attend followed by message saying collection from hospital to home.
The bookings are made by phone Call to 03303800515
They give me a reference number.
On my returned journey from hospital is made by the hospital department.
The message from emed does not accept or answer
My complaint at all. Perhaps someone could explain. as
It seems like they never happened

Mother missed hospital appointment as transport arrived very late

Arranged wheelchair transport for my mother from her care home to Coventry University Hospital. Her appointment was 1.30pm. Emed said they could be collecting her from two hours before so we were in the care home reception from 11.30am. Still waiting at 12.45. Rang Emed and was told transport was 10 minutes away. I was concerned because the hospital was 30 minutes away plus we would need to get in and out of taxi and find the eye clinic. Transport arrived just after 1.30 pm while I was on the phone to the hospital who advised my mother would need to make a new appointment as she wouldn't be seen if she was late. My mother has been waiting for some months for this appointment and has been desperate to get the post cataract surgery issues sorted. This missed appointment also puts extra burden on the NHS.
