Sold me an expensive pack of six Covid tests. Tested at Heathrow airport to return to USA. Convoluted process to put it mildly. Tests came back as invalid despite being a year within sell by date. The representative, who was in Asia, was laughing when she told me to purchase even MORE tests, which, I assume, would also come back with invalid results. Total con job: purchase tests, tests don’t produce positive or negative result, test declared invalid, purchase more tests, can’t fly. Uber around London to find legit test provider. Avoid this service like the plague!
This is a horrible product/experience. My Windows laptop (which works perfectly well for audio/video) crashed twice, always at the same spot, while emed tried to scan the QR code on my test kit. My Linux laptop (which works perfectly well for audio/video) would never connect to a session. The audio/video via my iPhone was very spotty so that we were unable to continue the session (twice). And not only that, the bottle of liquid was bone dry. And furthermore, the demands they make of you (in very heavily accented English, very difficult to understand) are so extreme (they need to see you and the test kit on a flat surface; that doesn't work very well with a laptop camera, and with an iPhone you need really long arms to make this work). After wasting over 2 hours with this product, to no avail, I finally gave up.
The wait times for a proctor are ridiculous and have to do it for each person who needs to test even if in same family. System isn’t reliable so after waiting for hours there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to complete the process. We’ve wasted a full day of our trip waiting for tests and have only managed to get 3 of 4 done so far.
Avoid at all costs.
Just like other reviewers this should be '0' absolute waste of time and money, 3 hours wait only to be told they can't see me so drop the call, no help. On phone to CS waiting over 45 mins so far no response. Apparently you need to use Google Chrome not that that is written anywhere. My husband on a different device also waiting 4 hours and the thought that we may have to do this x 4 for all the family is absolutely outrageous. This is not vacation trip so stress level even higher now. Assumed as reccomended by United it would be decent. Beyond disgusted and frustrated.
I would give this company 0 stars if I could. I signed in for a covid test for myself and my 12 year old daughter. The wait time was 196 minutes…We waited and waited… when it was our turn, we got a message that someone will be with us shortly. 35 minutes later we got connected and I explained that I also need to perform a covid test for my 12 year old child. The certified guide told me that she can only do the test with me and that I have to get back in line for my daughter???? Since she is under 14 years old, and it’s only logical that a family should be able to perform their tests together… we had been waiting for three hours, it was now 2 am and my daughter and I were exhausted and tired, but we kept repeating that she is a certified guide and can only certify one test for this appointment. I asked her if I could speak with her supervisor to hopefully get them to see the logic but she refused and said I have to call the customer service number and dropped me.
I was so disappointed with this company and most of all with United airlines as by redirecting their customers to Emed, they are endorsing a company that treats people this way. I will definitely be in touch with them and give United airlines feedback about my experience with Emed.
I called the customer service and finally got to speak to a supervisor… he told me there were 700 people in line and they only have a handful of certified guides, so that’s the reason their guide dropped me. He asked me to just call back when it’s not so busy…….. I’m speechless…Is that supposed to be helpful???? But he said he understands my frustration…. Hmmm… I asked for a refund and he said their Tier 3 people will call me to address the issue…. I’m certain these people will do their best not to refund me because as a manager/supervisor he would have taken care of it right there and then instead of telling me that another department will have to talk to me….I now have to find another lab and pay for the service elsewhere.
This was meant to be a reliable service and I trusted them because I trusted United Airlines…. So disappointed and such a waste of time!
