DOWNHILL. AWFUL.

I was with the app before emed took over, it was easy to get an appointment, quick to be seen, good communication. Now it can take months to even see a GP. I thoroughly recommend you don't use this service.

(RE THE RESPONSE, They didn't message, it's a standardised response, do not use this service it's gone downhill, the only good reviews are private patients)

Poor appointment availability and issues with app

No appointments available for a blood test for nearly a month. After I booked one for the end of June, an earlier appointment became available so I used the app to change the appointment. However, when changing an existing appointment, the app only shows you the time and date of alternative appointments, not the location, so users can't see that their appointment has been changed to a clinic at the other side of London until after they've rebooked it.

Edited following emed's reply:
This issue afftects any user trying to use the app to book or reschedule a blood test. It's not specific to me, I've made emed aware of the issue and it's for them to make changes to the app so location is shown when rescheduling appointments and to consider whether the availability of appointments is adequate.

A policy of last minute cancellations

When I first registered with Babylon, making an appointment was easy and efficient. Since eMed have taken over the service and despite promises not to affect doctor or nurse available the has plummeted!! The vast majority if not all of my appointments have been cancelled last minute with less than 24 hours notice. For example I have now had an appointment that I waited 2 weeks to attend cancelled not once but twice. No explanation was given and do not know when I will be able to attend an appointment as the nearest availability is in another 2 weeks. I contacted Babylon by phone but was told nothing was available, no apology was offered or an explanation. I would recommend you save yourself some time and stress and go anywhere else!

eMed is an example of where technology has failed - better off registering with a bricks and mortar GP practice

Did the online NHS 111 test and was instructed to get medical attention from a pharmacist either today or tomorrow. No eMed/GP at Hand appointments for 2+ weeks until 10 June.

Called eMed customer service to see if they held any on-the-day appointments back (I explained that the illness I’m experiencing is making it very difficult to leave the house) and they couldn’t have cared any less.

Having to go to go for an in-person pharmacy consultation despite this being a perfect example of when telemedicine could really improve a patient’s experience.

Looking forward to the copy and paste apology they send to every negative review - instead of “reviewing my case”, why don’t you address the underlying issue of almost every negative complaint for the past several years: the wait times are too long, and cancellations increase already excessive wait times. You’re welcome.

Excellent service. Booking an appointment was very easy. The Dr was quick to diagnose my problem and then the prescription appeared seamlessly in the app.

Excellent experience

I saw Dr Jonathan Zeilinger who was attentive and thorough with his examination. I’d would use again as I felt my presenting problem was taken serious and I left with a clear care plan. The receptionist was welcoming.

Avoid - only about the money

Click an appointment by mistake and cancelled immediately
As a business I expected some compassion and understanding for a mistake but they were only interested in banking the money and not taking anytime to discuss situation maturely

Absolutely horrible since eMed took over

Absolutely horrible since eMed took over. Babylon was absolutely outstanding service, with extremely high quality and very short wait times. Since eMed took over, that all changed literally 180 degrees. Wait times are horrible, often it's impossible to get appointment and if there is one, it's in more than 2-3 weeks — including for tests like blood test. Frequently consultants are not even calling for scheduled appointment — which means after you waited for 2-3 weeks you need to go, book another one in 2-3 weeks and hope this time they'll call you.

It's truly heartbreaking what they did to such outstanding service.

Appointments are becoming harder to get!

I used to be able to get next day appointments with Babylon. Now, I can’t get an appointment within the same week!
This is meant to be the future of GP’s but I’d rather go back the old way and call up - at least I’d get an appointment quicker…
It’s such a shame because I used to rave about how amazing the app was.

Wait times are terrible since eMed took over. Used to be fantastic. I just need to get a blood test and not only do I have to travel quite far to do so, with no appointments at other clinics, but even then there are barely any appointment slots over the next few weeks. I would strongly suggest don’t join if you care about your health at all!!

I have been with them for years and…

I have been with them for years and they used to be excellent. However every single time I need a repeated prescription approved it does not register in the app. I have messaged the it team a dozen times about their bug on android. It takes on average about 3 gp appointments until I have my repeated. I had to call the emergency service for prescriptions several times. I started to order meds from the us instead.

Useless customer service

I agree with the other comments, the quality considerably plummeted after emed took over. I need a medical assessment for a standard government led process, and for some reason emed really struggle with arranging it. It took me almost 2 months to arrange it, emed cancelled it 3 times at the last moment! I can't book it on the app, the chat doesn't work. I need one again, and luckily they booked it via email, but then cancelled 30 mins before the appointment, while I was already on my way there. I'm so fed up. I went private and arranged everything within 10 mins. It costs the same as via emed!!! I'll move my NHS GP to someone local.

Awful

Babylon was amazing, I added my two children including my baby and was very happy to have most of my appointments online when possible. Unfortunately since it has been taken over it is awful. Now I cannot book an in person appointment on the app at all or even get one by calling. I asked for an urgent appointment for my 1 year old yesterday have heard absolutely nothing. I have also just seen that they are closing Raynes Park which is the only clinic close enough to get to. I will be moving myself and children back to a GP Practice. Such a shame.

Absolute disappointment.

Absolute disappointment.
Was very happy with Babylon.
Now is all about long waits for urgent apps that need to discuss tests results and treatments.
Lack of appropriate customer service.

Shutting down Raynes Park Clinic

Absolutely terrible company.

They're scaling back all services and yet not informing customers until after they've shut down services.
This is forcing many people into difficult positions of having to travel across London for as something as simple as a blood test.

I doubt they'll be around in 18 months at this rate.

Shocking

Babylon was good, now that it has been taken over by eMed the service is shocking. The appointment wait is 2 weeks minimum. I have waited for 2 weeks and then my appointment was cancelled by eMed the night before. All options for rebook are another two weeks away. It’s very obvious that this is eMed’s policy to frustrate NHS patients and drive them away so that eMed can focus on paid services. They do not live up up the slogan about the “same commitment”.

Useless - 2 weeks waiting time

Babylon was great, but now there is no reason to choose eMed over a local GP.

I was advised by my pharmacist to see a doctor for an in-person appointment over the next few days, but Babylon can only give me a 10 minutes online call with a nurse in 2 weeks. Appalling service quality. When I call the helpline, I was told to go to an emergency clinic.
