Everything was made easy (hiring for graduation ceremony): it was all done perfectly, and the E&R staff were so friendly, adding their own welcoming touch to the day. Thank you.

I had such a positive experience with the team who helped me get ready for my graduation. Pauline and Sharon were both absolutely fantastic! They were so warm, cheerful, and incredibly friendly from the moment I arrived. Sharon carefully picked my gown and cap and Pauline took the time to dress me and adjust the fit a few times before the ceremony took place to make sure everything was perfect and sitting right, which really put my mind at ease. Both Pauline and Sharon also involved my children who came along to celebrate this day with me which meant allot for them, and made them feel included in this special day. What could have been a nerve-wracking experience was made so easy and enjoyable thanks to their professionalism and kindness. They effortlessly created a relaxed atmosphere and made me feel completely comfortable throughout. I’m really grateful for their help and couldn’t have asked for better support on such an important day that me and my children will remember forever! Thank you Pauline and Sharon X

As a wheelchair user, this service was amazing. Thom emailed me with brilliant reasonable adjustments without me reaching out first and has definitely eased the stress of a very special graduation! Thanks to Thom for making my day a bit easier.

Immensely disappointed. Eden and Ravenscroft manner in which it treats customers not inkeeping with the service from the Open University. I really hope the OU reconsider their association with such a poor company.

I am very disappointed with the service I received from Ede & Ravenscroft regarding the purchase of an Aberystwyth University graduation hood.
Before my graduation, I already knew that I wanted to purchase my hood rather than rent it. I regularly perform as part of a cathedral choir, where the wearing of academic hoods is encouraged, so this was not intended to be a one-off item for me.
However, before graduation, the hood was not available to purchase. I contacted support and was told that it would be available soon. I waited as long as I reasonably could, right up until the deadline, but eventually had no option but to rent the full set instead.
After graduation, I continued to wait for the hood to become available to purchase. Over the following ten months, I contacted Ede & Ravenscroft several times and repeatedly received essentially the same response: that it would be available soon. It never was.
In the end, I had to concede and purchase a hood from a private bespoke seller. The quality of that hood is, incidentally, better than the one I wore at graduation, but the wider issue is that I should not have had to look elsewhere in the first place.
This is especially frustrating given that hoods for other universities, such as Durham, Cambridge and Oxford, appear to be readily available. It gives the impression that students and graduates from less prominent institutions receive a lower standard of service, despite Ede & Ravenscroft occupying such a dominant position in the graduation market.
The most frustrating part is that I actively wanted to give Ede & Ravenscroft my money. I wanted to buy the hood through the official supplier. Yet they simply did not provide a way for me to do so, either before graduation or for many months afterwards.
Overall, this has been a poor and disappointing experience. For a company so closely associated with graduations, I would expect far better availability, clearer communication, and more equal treatment across universities.

Really happy with the experience I had at my graduation. I was well looked after with friendly and smiley staff. There was even someone making sure we look presentable just before walking onto the stage

I have hired 3 graduation gowns in the past, this is my first time using Ede & Ravenscroft. Not only was the hire significantly cheaper than other organisations but the quality was better. What really stands out though is how prepared staff were, getting gowned up, I pleasantly found they had come prepared with hair grips for the mirror board and the staff were as excited as the graduates! They also attended the ceremony to ensure all academic dress was perfect before crossing the stage. I wish every university used these as their academic dress hire!

The service I received when obtaining my gown etc for my graduation was excellent. The staff were concerned to ensure everything was correct and fitted well. The return of the hired outfit was also smooth.

My only beef is that it is all a bit of a stitch-up between the University and the company, so the company is essentially a monopoly supplier to graduates at my institution, with therefore no price competition and you have to pay what they demand. I have not however let this context affect my grading of the service received.
