I purchased a generator from this…
I purchased a generator from this company, I have to say, it was a very straight forward transaction, from start to finish, with expert help from Sophie.
The Genie was delivered to N Ireland, in perfect condition & I saved myself quite a few quid, into the bargain, so many thanks to all at DTW Tools.

1. The very first time:
• The grass was not that tall and the lawnmower was not cutting off
• Went twice over the grass – from left to right & vice versa still the grass was not cut and did two strips
• The height adjustment was lowered one notch
• Went over the same strips again then move to the third strip where there was a tree root
• The blade hit the root & the engine stopped
• I increased the height and carried on
• The blade was not working properly and was going in circles & the grass was mulching and ripped out of the lawn
• The blade dropped and went into the grass
• Stopped as the damage to both the lawn & the mower were obvious
2. The Lawn:
• Medium size - Not 100% level i.e. ditches and patches
• There are trees on the sides – some roots can be seen
• Bark & small pebbles
• Green Thumb maintain & look after the lawn and ensure it is green all year round
3. The old Lawnmower:
• Sovereign 375
• Acquired circa 8 year ago and used on the same lawn referred to in point 3 above
• Yearly serviced on site
• Still working in good order but a bit heavy for my wife to push & does not have a start push button
4. Complained:
• Goods were mis-sold
• When you Google a lawn mower that can handle uneven grounds, the machine pops up
• Tree root was not high from the ground
• Possible fault in the machine
• Possible damage while in transit/delivery
5. Hyundai Support:
• Refused to acknowledge or discuss the above
• Offered to collect the machine (at my cost) repair it (at my cost) and the expected repair cost to exceed the purchase price.
• No consideration, compensation or offer from neither the supplier nor the manufacturer.
6. Summary:
• They claim the best machine & best customer support unfortunately I have been let down big time.

As we have explained previously, the manufacturer’s warranty—like all warranties—covers manufacturing faults or defects. It does not extend to damage caused by external impacts or misuse.
Based on the detailed images and description you provided, it is evident that the lawnmower blade made significant contact with a tree root or stump, with enough force to tear through the steel cutting deck. This kind of damage is not consistent with a manufacturing fault, but rather with accidental impact—something explicitly not covered by the warranty terms.
We understand your frustration, especially as this happened early in your use of the product. However, no product warranty can cover damage resulting from hitting hard, immovable objects such as tree roots or stumps.
We did offer to collect and assess the mower, but as this would fall outside warranty coverage, any repairs would have incurred costs, which we communicated transparently.
We are committed to supporting our customers, but we must also remain fair and consistent in applying warranty terms. We regret that this experience did not meet your expectations and welcome further dialogue if you would like assistance with repair options or advice for future use.

Good comms with shop as i had not…
Good comms with shop as i had not received an update on order. When it arrived it was well packaged and obviously straight from the factory. Quite often STIHL offer a completely assembled machine and working, maybe DTW can offer that in future. I must admit the assembly process was a bit onerous for this tool as instruction are not always obvious. On the whole I would buy from DTW again as the service and comms was great.
