Can’t fault Jordan he was very helpful took the time to come round to check measurements etc. The fitters were brilliant very professional and did a great job. However we are very disappointed with the floor. We purchased The Quick step natural European oak brushed and oiled wide flooring. This floor scratches so easily we thought it was a durable floor as we have kids and pets. We’ve had to purchase a rug which covers the majority of the floor. I did speak to Briony she advised purchasing Quick step oil care. I did explain that we’d only had the floor fitted for a couple of months or so and should we need to be carrying out maintenance on it already but she said if there were any more problems to contact them. We didn’t as don’t know what they can do now the whole room has flooring down.

Purchased 3 packs of khars wood flooring 1 plank was complete different shade and another was badly machined sent photos to them was told by a member of staff he would pass to khars rep nothing heard phone or email thst was 3 weeks ago not happy

I have just had my bedroom fitted with floorboards from Hamiltons and the transformation is fabulous I couldn’t be happier. I had a lot of help with choice of wood and the installation was beautifully caried out. Very happy customer

The whole experience of buying and having our new flooring fitted has been straightforward throughout. The fitters were friendly and efficient and we are delighted with the flooring. This is the second time we have used this company - our original flooring purchased some six years ago is still good as new. Would highly recommend.

We purchased 5 Deanta solid oak doors from Hamiltons and they are really impressive, nicely rounding off our downstairs redecoration. The under stairs cupboard is not a standard size, and therefore Jordan and his team needed to spec and produce a bespoke door. Whilst the lead-time was inevitably longer once again we were not disappointed with the end result.

Another very important thing to mention is the installation team - Danny and his son were amazing. Frankly I don’t think we have ever come across tradesmen so quiet, polite, conscientious and tidy. They had one or two challenges with installation, due to the issues we always seem to encounter when building work is carried out on our old house, but this didn’t phase them at all. They were an absolute credit to Hamiltons.

Would definitely recommend this excellent local company.

We recently completed a DIY flooring installation project, and the end result turned out great — everyone who’s seen it absolutely loves it.

The entire purchase process was easy and seamless from start to finish. The quality of the materials is outstanding, which made the installation straightforward and much easier than expected for a DIY project.

We recently purchased a Quickstep floor from Hamiltons and the experience was a good one until the floor arrived. As our builder started to lay it, he discovered cracks in the floor. We called Hamiltons straight away and were advised to take photos which we did.

On seeing the photos, Andrew at Hamiltons said the ‘rep’ had said it was a manufacturing fault and they would engage with Quickstep.

We had to chase Hamiltons for an update and I was told ‘Andrew is on the phone right now dealing with it’ and ‘we’re on your side, we see the issue with it.’ More photos were requested which we sent today. The photos show the floor is clearly cracked.

On sending the photos, I called Hamiltons again - I was asked to speak with Jordan who started the conversation with ‘are you ok?’ as though we haven’t had an ongoing issue with a cracked floor for almost 3 weeks.

Quickstep and Hamiltons are now claiming the floor is ‘rustic’ and it should have cracks. We have photos of the website at the point of sale and ‘rustic’ is not mentioned - nor are ‘cracks’. Importantly, the photos show a completely smooth floor.

I should note - Jordan didn’t take the time to look at the several photos sent today before telling me I lacked ‘common sense’.

Apparently, he can’t do anything because the floor has been part-laid. I have told Hamiltons on at least 3 occasions the builder was doing his best to cut out the faulty cracks and was keeping those off-cuts to one side for them. He stopped when he reached about 1.5 packs in size and put the rest on the skip.

At no point, did Hamiltons tell us to stop laying the floor.

Bottomline, Quickstep won’t admit the floor is faulty, as such Hamiltons are gaslighting me into thinking the floor is as it should be. It cost almost £3,000.

My builder recommended Hamiltons - he will spread the word about what’s happened here amongst the builder community.

To anyone thinking about purchasing a floor from them, I would strongly advise against it. We understand problems can occur, a company can be measured on how well they deal with it.

Update 3/11: In response to Jordan’s reply below - at no point have I asked for a refund from Hamiltons or extra flooring for free. We never reached the point of discussing redress. I spoke to Jordan for the first time on Friday - up until that point, Andrew had been managing the situation and we were trying to figure out what was wrong with the floor.

Andrew’s last email to me asked if I could take further pictures of the floor and he said; ‘They (Quickstep) have also advised if you can see the backing board through the board then there might be a manufacturing defect with the boards.’

The photos I sent showed we could see the backing board.

In addition, Andrew was aware of the fault for 2.5 weeks and he knew - we agreed - that my builder would continue to keep trying to install the floor by cutting the faulty areas out.

Jordan’s response illustrates the manner with which he’s dealt with this situation. Defensive and passive aggressive.

For clarity, should we need anymore floor due the faulty cracks, I will purchase it from elsewhere. Should the floor materially break down in the coming months due to the defect, I will pay to have the floor removed and replaced. I won’t be engaging with Hamiltons again and I want no further communication with Jordan.

I have written this review to share my experience of Hamilton’s customer service. It’s one-star, extremely poor.

We purchased our flooring about 2 years ago and it still looks new.We chose the Swedish Kahrs laminate flooring supplied by Hamiltons. The salesman was very knowledgeable about the large range of products and took time to help us decide which one suited us best and calculate the quantity of flooring we needed. Hamiltons have a large range of samples of laminate wood flooring which makes it easier to compare them and choose. We were really impressed with the quality of the Kahrs flooring and our floor layer said it was the best he had ever laid. Very pleased with the company's personal service.

Outstanding customer service. I needed it quickly. They went the extra mile for me.
Good product selection and all the fiddly bits too

We had our stairs done 2 years ago and unfortunately one of the nosing edges was coming loose and was a trip hazard. I contacted Hamiltons and spoke with Jordan who was very helpful and sent one of his guys out to remove and refit. Job was quickly completed and no charge! Thankyou Jordan.
Excellent service

Great company to deal with, wide range of products with large sample sizes that make your wood flooring choice much easier. We travelled from Milton Keynes and the journey was well worth it. Jordan and and the team were very helpful.

I found Hamiltons an excellent flooring company. The choice in the showroom is large and Jordan was very helpful in guiding my choice.
Danny (with help from Brandon) did a wonderful job in laying the floor and with the finishing touches too. My thanks to all in making the experience as easy as possible. There will always be some discomfort while the work is happening but the main room was completed first so I had a place to go!

Had an overall very positive experience, ordered wood flooring with them and it was delivered on schedule. They gave me a good price for the flooring. Areas where they could improve: responsiveness to email; providing tracking data for customers to follow their shipment (you can have tracking for a £10 order, surely it must be possible for one worth several thousand pounds); I never received the sample I requested from them of the flooring I ordered. I am very satisfied with the quality of my new flooring that matches the pictures, but it would have been good to have that sample. From my experience, I would say they are a reliable and reputable company.

EDIT: After writing this review and giving 4 stars, I've been getting much quicker replies to my queries (perhaps owner spoke to sales rep?). Anyway, upping my review to 5

We had used Hamiltons in the past and they were great, so no hesitation to use them again once we moved into a new home.
Where everyone else was messing us around by promising to fit, then cancelling, delaying... Jordan made a few calls and got us booked in really quickly. The floor fitters were very skilled and polite and got the doors and floors fitted in no time.
We're thrilled by how our new home has been transformed and would definitely recommend Hamiltons to anyone looking for a quality, dependable floor/door installation.

Personal input and very good installation

I had the Ely internal doors fitted. The whole process from meeting with Jordan in the showroom to the fitting was smooth and easy.
When initially meeting Jordan he gave great advice and wasn’t pushy so that I could make informed decisions. Very helpful and polite.
The door fitters were brilliant, tidy and efficient.

We visited Hamilton and talked to Jordan. He was very helpful, no high pressure sales talk.
Doors were installed yesterday lovely! Well crafted doors. Fitters were courteous, put a cover down on our floor. Cleaned up after they had finished. The fitters were very quiet. Doors fit well, added bonus if there should be a problem they will come back and adjust doors accordingly.
I would recommend them any day, for quality and excellent service.

We purchased some new flooring for our kitchen and hallway. We choose engineered wood as it looked great and works well with our underfloor heating system. Jordan was helpful from start to finish. He suggested different types of wood, let us take samples home and he arranged for free delivery. The floor looks amazing and we couldn't be happier.
