Install date moved x 3. Unsafe and untidy work carried out, this was to the extent of using one of my chairs to stand on to access the loft! I was told price included scaffold or the correct access equipment to work on the roof, no such thing used just a ladder. Electrician slipped in loft and as he had not used correct ladders again and I had to help with lowering him down. No electrical testing carried out, when installing a new DB and circuit this is going against the electrical wiring regulations. No handover documents still received, several chases to no avail and still not finished after 3 months! All in they are unsafe, unreliable, poor communication as they can only ring you when they want money. Shop around and avoid.
Excellent quality work
Few delays in getting things done due to demand but once the guys were here they did an excellent job. Really friendly, knew their stuff, explained everything, always made sure I was happy and clearly take pride in what they do….they did a really tidy job - aesthetically looks fantastic and works like a dream

Although having my installation date moved several times and as frustrating as It was I understand the solar industry over the last 18months or so has been in high demand and has caused push backs
But I can honestly say I’m so happy with my solar system that was installed Deege solar have be so helpful along the way

Overall a good result, and a BIG THANKS to Brittany!
Overall a good result, but took some perseverance to get there (still well worth the effort for what our system delivers!).
The Deege Solar sales experience to design the Solar and Battery system we wanted went very smoothly, we all my questions were answered promptly, and this gave us confidence we were choosing the right overall system.
When the fitting date arrived, all progressed well with fitting the 22 solar panels (8.47kWh system) with 2 batteries (13 kWh capacity) was up and running in 3 days.
(It took a little longer than standard, since we were also fitting the EPS option, to allow off grid operation during any blackouts.)
The one follow-up fix with a fixing rail on the roof was dealt with promptly and resolved in a couple days from been reported.
Getting the final MCS Certificate fully issued, took much longer than expected, partly due to National Grid requiring our system to be LIMITED DOWN to 3.68 max export at any given moment. (Most systems wouldn't need this limitation in place, but we'd deliberately sized our system much larger to be more self sufficient in winter - and it's really paying for itself now).
The one person I'd like to call out for going above and beyond is Brittany (in the back office installations team), who ALWAYS did what she said she'd do, with regular updates along the way.
Our system installation all the way through to getting paid for exported electricity had some delays/hurdles, but without Brittany assisting along the way, I might have lost my sanity.

10kwh solar system and battery install
I recently had a 10kwh system and battery storage installed. I think due to the vast demand, there were a few hiccups along the way, but it was understandable. The management even gave me a small goodwill gesture to apologise for the delays which was brilliant. The installers were great and did a very good job. But the best thing is the help I have had from Chloe Copping after the install. Once again a couple of slight issues but with the help of Chloe they have been sorted super quick. This is the area that I look at in a company and one that shows the value of customer support. Whatever you are paying Chloe, I can guarantee it’s not enough as the value she provides to the company is second to none!!!

Rod Griggs - Deege Solar
I have reached out to Rod Griggs on numerous occasions regarding Solar PV and Battery Installation at our property. Every interaction has been fruitful, he has been patient enough to answer any questions and also point me in the right direction with lots of factual info and data based recommendation behind choice of PV system and battery. At any point the conversation never sounded like a sales pitch, every interaction was honest and insightful. Due to ongoing roof works the project of Solar PV project has been postponed but will reach out to him when we are ready to progress ahead.

After a few changes to the installation date (which I'd imagine is purely down to such huge demand) I couldn't be happier with the work carried out. Professional team and the quality of the solar system.

Continual delays, abysmal communication
We signed the contract for solar installation in August 2022, for installation around November 2022. They were quite happy to take our deposit but since then our installation has been cancelled/rearranged/postponed FOUR times. Most recently this was done via a generic email with no indication of when the work might actually be carried out. They do not answer their phone so I cannot even request my money back.
Additionally, I signed a DNO letter of authority in August 2022 so Deege could sign a connection agreement with my DNO. This usually takes 3 months and must be done before install. By January 2023, no application had been submitted according to our DNO. So even if we somehow get our deposit back, we're still at least 3 months away from another company being able to install anything.
Do not use this company.
Never pay them until the work is…
Never pay them until the work is completed. We’ve been waiting since July for some extra panels to be installed. They keep giving us one date after the other and cancel un the last minute.
I made I huge mistake when I paid them with the work not completed

Installation completed, installation team excellent, no mess. Web monitoring dongle wrong model sent but replaced next day, app is great and very easy to monitor system. Just awaiting Brittany to forward on paperwork then they may get 5 stars.

Abysmal customer service and communication
Deege appears to be a company which places no value on customer service or communication. I got 6 quotes back in the summer for a solar installation. Deege appeared to be the best one. I carried out due diligence before placing an order and found 2 very negative reviews alongside some positive ones on Trustpilot. I asked Deege about these and was told that these 2 customers had been let down during lockdown because of problems with the supply chain. I was sufficiently reassured to place an order on 2nd August, was given an installation date of November 7th and paid the deposit on 12th October. I had no further communication until the week before the planned installation date, so emailed the office and was reassured that the installation was going ahead as planned. It didn’t, and I heard nothing more for almost 4 weeks in spite of 18 emails and phone calls from me. Deege said, without any apology, that they were moving my installation to January as they had had to lay off some of the installation team due to substandard work. I had by then lost all confidence in Deege due to non-communication, and requested cancellation of the contract. This was readily agreed to and a cancellation form was sent by return email. On completion I was told that refund would be made 7 days after processing the form. Once again this was the last I heard from them in spite of emails chasing an update, and a formal complaint, which was not even acknowledged. I was afraid that the company might be about to go out of business and found it very stressful. How can a company treat customers like this and stay in business? After consulting Citizens Advice, I sent a Letter Before Action advising that I would take Deege to court within 14 days and have now received the refund, but again no communication or apology!
Very pleased with Deege and the work done
We have had panels, batteries and an EPS system installed (5 circuits on an additional consumer unit which was not straightforward to implement). The system install started on the date promised and is fully operational, giving us benefits. We can also continue to run our home for up to two days, including the gas heating system, should we experience a power cut.
We live in the north of England and the install took longer than anticipated. Some of the problems were of Deege’s own making and some weren’t. However they stuck with it until the job was finished – even though this meant an additional trip north after a weekend. We had four different people on site at various times and all seemed competent at what they were doing. They cleared up well after the job and the install looks immaculate.
I was a little concerned about what to expect having read some of the reviews on Trustpilot. This led me to get involved and review what was happening during the installation and chase beforehand to ensure expectations were managed. I also kept a close eye on the routing of cables to ensure ascetics, where appropriate, were as we wanted them. If I had not done this there would have been some avoidable rework. Dave (managing director) was excellent and did what he could to solve any problems incurred during the installation and to get the job finished asap. I can understand why some dates slip as unforeseen difficulties on one job can have a knock-on effect to another although I suspect the vast majority of jobs run smoothly.
I also learned a few things through the process of how Deege work. I thought they would order parts well ahead of the job and hold them in stock (after all they had my deposit). It seems that they buy the parts from wholesalers as they need them and this can lead to problems. I think if this had been explained and there was some communication in the days and weeks leading up to the installation I would have been less nervous.
Other aspects of the company, given Deege’s size, have impressed me and I would happily recommend them. A relative of mine had their installation done a week later and was very impressed. Although his job was late it was completed in two days and is working well.
Overall the product seems excellent. The people who came were very professional and knew what they were doing and were all pleasant to deal with. As with many small growing businesses problems can occur and Deege stuck with the problems we incurred, solved them, and delivered well. I’m pleased we went with Deege.
We are yet to receive our ‘certificates’ and other paperwork. I will update this review if there is a problem here.
Update 26 February 2023
First review they got 1 Star because they had lost credibility. I have updated my rating to 4 stars. It would have been 5 stars if they had not had the administration meltdown before installation. My system is working perfectly, the team were meticulous in the placing of the panels on south and west roofs, electricians made no mess and the admin team have processed all the appropriate documentation etc. and have kept me updated. This month we are generating 84% of our required electricity consumption.
