Ridiculous voluntary contribution
The default setting for contribution to crowdfunder was set at £5 which on a donation of £25 was ridiculously high. Thought I had cancelled mid donation and restarted. So now a £25 donation has risen to £55. Really feel scammed.
Their response (below) misses the point completely. The User Experience is designed so that the user clicks through and as my review says there is no way you can abort the transaction even if it wasnt complete.
Am I going to contact them about getting £5 back, clearly not. Are these voluntary donations reducing costs for charities, I doubt it very much. Perhaps they could include their profit for last year in their response.

The tip is used by Crowdfunder so that we can help more projects. We do not charge any platform fees for projects that are charitable causes, not for profit and personal fundraisers.

Check the tip doesn't reset
Every time I've donated recently through the mobile site, the page will do this little glitch as I'm entering my payment details and address and reset the tip level, after I'd reduced it from the recommended tip level. Every time. It feels very convenient. Always check, I got caught out last time and paid a ridiculous tip I hadn't intended to.

I'm uncomfortable donating using this app
I do not like how this app interacts with my banking app. I will not be using this app to donate to causes. EDIT, post CF reply: 1] Please note I didn't have an issue with my banking app. just with how CF works. 2] I'm an erstwhile ITer from a Blue Chip company.

If you crowdfund into a business ur only giving money to a business because the banks won’t fund them and you will get nothing back unless that business is put on the stock exchange so all your doing if funding a business with no return

The percentage you take for a charity…
The percentage you take for a charity found raise just to used your platform is very unbelievable. Someone paid it £105 you deducted almost £25.

I've just checked your project and can confirm you were charged 0% Crowdfunder platform fees. There will be a deduction of our payment processors transactions fees though which is 2.4% + £0.20 +VAT (per transaction).
The person that donated to your project also left a tip of £24.00 for Crowdfunder, which you have included in the total amount mentioned.

The process went smoothly
Easy for people to donate. Fees were taken from their donation, so they didn't have to pay extra. Money transferred to organiser's account on the date previously stated. It all went smoothly.

Please be aware that when you crowdfund, especially if it's for a personal project, only friends/people that you know in your community and friends of friends are likely to pledge.
I'm sorry if you know this already, however people can sometimes be under the misconception that when they put a project on Crowdfunder, strangers will come along and pledge lots of money on it. This unfortunately is not often the case in reality.
If you wanted to change the target amount or project closing date then it is simple to do, please just get in contact with the support team via email or through the platform for us to help you with this.
