It's now been 2 weeks & no replacement

It's now been 2 weeks and I still don't have a replacement organised.
Delivery men were excellent but unfortunately the company picked the wrong type of bed.
I'm still awaiting a response regarding the replacement.

Find a better Company belonging to valued Trading Associations

Being elderly pensioners we often find it easier, rather than travelling around, to ften buy items over the Internet, so we googled around looking for 2 new zip together Superking mattresses and came across Contract Divan Beds.
We contacted the Company and spoke to a very nice gentleman who persuaderd us to buy 2 zip mattresses.
So on the 26th May 2025 we ordered and paid £614.99 and they were delivered to us on 31st May 2025. With the delivery we paid £50 for collection of the old mattresses by 2 men, it turned out to be a non English man and his 14/15 year old son, awful not at all helpful with opening the new mattresses and a bit careless/dangerous removing the old mattresses and whatever Contract Divan Beds say about the delivery, we did report it immediately and were told the problem was with the delivery contractor not with the bed supplier, we also said we had a tip to give the delivery men, but due to their unhelofulness we didn't hand it over.
We had booked a short holiday for 2nd to 5th June for our 59th Wedding Anniversary so we didn't really use the mattresses till 6th June.
We quickly realised that they had quite deep dips in them and after just a few nights of sleeping on them the dips deepened and the mattresses became increasingly uncomfortable and the material around the dips started to show ripples (we have pictures of these ripples around some of the dips) goodness knows how bad the dips and the ripples will quickly become.
So under The Consumer Rights Act 2015 we contacted Contract Divan Beds and were shocked by their response, we are still following this up with our customer rights.
Basically they said that their "Refund Policy would be subject to a 50% restocking fee along with a collection fee".
I pointed out to them that we had responded within the 14 day deadline and we'll within the 30 day period allowed.
They have not yet commented on this, since I searched and found that this Company do not participate with any Ombudsman or Trade Association, so you are entirely in their hands.
So beware of this Company find a better Company belonging to Associations who at least will give you a level of support, if needed.

We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your experience. As a small independent company, we clearly state that we do not offer risk-free sleep trials, and that any mattress return is subject to a 50% restocking fee and collection charges. This is made clear at the point of sale and within our refund policy. If a no-obligation sleep trial was a key requirement, we would recommend selecting a company that specifically offers this service.

Regarding the dips mentioned in your review, these are not defects but rather a normal characteristic of tufted mattresses. All tufted mattresses, by design, have slightly indented areas where the tufts are secured. This is entirely standard across the industry. Should you have preferred a completely smooth sleeping surface, a foam-encapsulated or flat panel mattress would have been more appropriate, and our team would have been happy to advise on suitable options.

In addition, we have email correspondence from yourself praising & confirming the delivery was completed without issue, so we are surprised by the conflicting comments in your review. We welcome all genuine feedback, but we must make clear that we do not accept slanderous or misleading claims.

Lastly, we must strongly object to your reference to the driver’s ethnicity. Such remarks are entirely inappropriate, irrelevant, and have no place in a public review. We ask all customers to communicate respectfully and without prejudice. If you would like to raise a formal complaint about the delivery experience, please contact the delivery partner directly to address this matter.

VERY GOOD DIVAN OTTOMAN BEDS

Now have two of these beds, fantastic for extra storage. They open and close very well, and there many colours, there also many many styles and colours of headboards.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Ordered a bed and paid extra for a nominated delivery day to then not receive this on the selected day. Customer service offered a refund for the 'delivery cost' and stated that there had been a system error and the day should have been blocked/greyed out. When I requested a full refund I was told I would only receive 50%, even though this was false advertising on their end for selling a bed that they were never going to Deliver on the day I selected and paid for. Further to this when I finally got hold of someone on the phone by choosing the Sales line, I was told that when the Delivery Company finally get round to Delivering, this could take 3-7 working days! I am currenlty still awaiting a response/resolution from the customer service team.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Unfortunately, there was a system error with the nominated delivery date selector, which led to an unavailable date appearing as bookable. We sincerely apologise for this issue and completely understand your disappointment.

While we strive to ensure all nominated delivery options function correctly, in this instance the error meant that the selected delivery date could not be fulfilled. Regrettably, once a delivery is scheduled through our external courier network, we have limited control over the exact date, though we do aim to dispatch orders promptly and minimise delays.

We can confirm that a refund was offered for the nominated date delivery charge paid, and our team has advised of the standard delivery timescale of 3 - 11 working days. Absolutely shocking customer service and aftersales

Absolutely shocking customer service. Wrong bed delivered with faults over a week ago and still not been rectified. Have contacted customer service by phone who 'can't do anything' and have emailed and filled in the form they sent back three times. Still no response!

If anything goes wrong you’re on your own

Purchased a bed based off the description of the mattress and turned out to be water resistant not water proof. It wasn’t even resistant. Contacted company for a refund/help and they said no and sent my emails to a non reply. Basically we have an unusable bed and no customer support.

Apalling Delivery Compnay

Unfortunately the delivery company you use left a frail 88 year old woman with Dementia to put the delivered mattress onto her bedframe, and refused to take away the old mattress, even though I had paid a hefty sum for it to be removed, because it had a urine stain on it. While you choose to use such a disgraceful delivery company your rating will suffer, as my mother still has no mattress on her bed until I can get to her to do it. Utterly disgraceful. Had a call from the bed company after they saw my review. They offered nothing new during the call and I told them that if they did not, I had nothing more to say. The mattress was not wet and the delivery company was not asked to “dress” a bed, but to put the new mattress on my mother’s bed frame. They were rude to me on the phone when they phoned and I stand by my review. An 88 year old woman with Dementia was treated badly by the delivery company and no one has offered to make amends.

I'm truly sorry to hear about your experience and completely understand your frustration. At *Contract Divan Beds*, we always strive to provide a smooth and professional service, and I regret that this situation has caused distress.

To clarify, we offer and advertise a *Free 2-man Room Of Choice Delivery*, which ensures that the mattress is placed in the desired room but does *not* include dressing the bed for the customer. Additionally, for hygiene reasons, we do not collect soiled mattresses, especially when they are still wet, as this poses a health risk to our 3rd party delivery team, due to this the delivery team could not place the new mattress on the current bed base as they were not going to touch the soiled mattress.

Following a further investigation, we can confirm that our delivery team conducted themselves professionally and explained the situation at the time. I appreciate that this was a frustrating experience, but we do have to adhere to strict hygiene policies to ensure the safety of both our customers and staff.

If you need any further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us directly, and we will do our best to help. - I can see a member of our team has already explained this to you and the refund for the collect disposal was processed.

UPDATE:
Tried to contact the customer to clarify the situation today, unfortunately customer was quite rude and terminated the call.

The staff were very efficient and…

The staff were very efficient and helped to arrange my order to all my requirements (after a few calls).
Whilst the guys who delivered the bed were efficient, the service seemed somewhat impersonal - not sure if this might be attributed to a slight language barrier.
Otherwise all fine.

Mattress arrived at time you said it would. Lads delivered upstairs bedroom and took old one away. They were very friendly and helpful. Mattress was encapsulated. It looks very nice and it's lovely to sleep on. Very happy with experience would use again thank you.

So my bed finally come next day after…

So my bed finally come next day after the ordeal, and I have to admit the bed it’s self is made perfect and is easily 5*, is the most solid ottoman bed I’ve ever owned and is all around good quality but the service in order to get the bed was appalling, the one bloke that’s on customer services answers the phone with such a attitude then wonders why he gets it back and I have to now order the headboard and hope it gets to me before next year

Mindful of possible delivery delays

I ordered a bed base on the 27/12. I expected a slight delay with delivery with it being Christmas but I read some really good reviews so was hopeful of delivery somewhere near to there 5 day at most promise.
Long story short, it didn't arrive and after multiple emails, I also didn't recieve very good communication from the company.

However, the bed has now arrived, later then hoped for, but it is a lovely base and seems good quality. The company also phoned me after my original review to explain closures and bad weather had effected delivery times. This would have been much appreciated before we had taken our bed apart in expectation of new one arriving.

To clarify, our business was closed from 18th December 2024 to 6th January 2025, which meant that dispatch and communication were affected during this period. Additionally, our delivery partners collections have been impacted by adverse weather conditions, leading to further delays. Due to these challenges, we have been allocated only one vehicle for collections instead of the usual two to three, which has unfortunately affected delivery schedules.

We completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially given your circumstances, and I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. Intentionally mislead me about delivery date…

On 12/12 I asked if I bought a mattress would it be delivered by 28/12 and the reply I got in writing read, ‘Guaranteed 100%’ obviously they failed to deliver over the holiday season blaming their affiliate company V1 Distribution for it, and failing to refund me, exposing me to further expense to purchase a mattress in the interim period.
They asked though whether I wanted to cancel, as under their terms of business, if a buyer cancels the seller keeps 50%! No I said, ‘You must cancel this order to free my money so I can buy another mattress in time for my gursts arriving on 28/12, as you failed to meet the terms of the sale’. They failed to do that too, never apologised, and delivered the mattress on 2/01. Now I have 2 mattresses that have cost me double and 1 mattress I never needed in the first place. It’s bad business to try and secure a sale knowingly misleading the buyer; they were not able to meet the terms of the sale, as they closed for the holidays on 20/12 but never informed me that they were closing then, as I would’ve not bought the mattress had I known this. They left me stressed out instead and couldn’t care less if I had to purchase another mattress for my guests, as they refused to cancel the order not caring at all how their actions would impact me.

To begin, the product you purchased was a custom-size mattress, which is tailored specifically to your order requirements. As such, once production begins, cancellations or refunds are subject to our terms and conditions.

Regarding the delivery delays, we rely on our trusted delivery partners, such as V1 Distribution, to ensure timely deliveries. Unfortunately, during the holiday period, unforeseen challenges arose that affected the scheduled timeframe. While this delay was outside of our direct control, we apologise for the inconvenience caused and understand how it impacted your plans for your guests.

We also want to note that we made every effort to ensure the delivery of your mattress as soon as possible once operations resumed. We delivered the item on 2/01, and while we understand this timing did not meet your initial needs, we fulfilled the order as promised.
