Lengthy cancellation process
Preying on people being too busy to go through their lengthy subscription cancellation process and finally calling up, to then get a pushy marketing person on the phone doing every they can to keep you.
Failed to deliver and deal with.....
Made a trial order with a code to get 2 bags of coffee for price of postage. Got a message saying delivered, pretty clever as there is no way it'll get in mine or my neighbours external wall small letter boxes, neither neighbours had no delivery for me, yet they did have a delivery for themselves. Courier was Yodel, enough said, no photo of where, just delivered. Won't be using again, as support sent out a generic email stating delay in delivery, when clearly stating it was allegedly delivered, still no further response.

I tried the free trial and enjoyed the coffee, but not as much as my regular brew! Having to make a call to cancel the subscription was a pain, but the call was handled well, and James offered some alternative pricing options to tempt me to stay.

Be aware of you need to call them for the cancellation of your subscription
While the customer service team was pleasant to deal with, the subscription cancellation process is quite outdated. Unlike most modern companies that allow online cancellations, you are required to call during office hours to end your subscription.
Regarding the coffee, I was disappointed with the roast quality. I got the Brazil Yellow Bourbon, which was labelled as a 3/5 roast. However, the beans I received were closer to a 4 or 5 (medium-dark to dark), resulting in a bitter taste with very little flavour profile. Given that this costs 1.5x to 2x more than supermarket brands, I expected much higher quality. In the future, I’ll be sticking to dedicated specialty roasters.
Impossible to cancel
When you try to cancel it’s almost impossible. The online cancellation process takes you through several pages of offers to keep you before saying you can’t cancel online and need to phone up. Phone lines have long hold queues. Emails are ignored. Really disappointing way of doing business. Feels like a con to lock you into a subscription you can’t get out of.
Claims they are a small company, when they are not (£40m revenue, directors paid almost £500,000 last year, 80+ employees, - not a bad thing, but don’t pretend to be a small business when you are not).
Lovely coffee and great company
I bought the coffee as a gift for a friend who loved it and said they will consider subscribing for Coffee52 themselves. I don't drink coffee though so cancelled my own subscription and Kaye Kaur was very friendly and easy to speak to whilst cancelling. Definitely recommend.

Makes it way too difficult to cancel
Makes it way too difficult to cancel. Can sign up online but long wait time on the phone then patronising man on the phone scoffing at my early cancellation request and telling me that I’ve jumped the gun. Throwaway mentions of losing money paid for delivery charge and other cheap tactics. Not a fan and made me entirely surely that I would never re-activate my subscription.

They ask you to call to cancel the subscription but you will end up waiting for hours and hours WITH NO SUCCESS.

Called to discuss cancellation. The minimum amount to subscribe to (2 bags) is too much for me, but there's no option to make it 1 single bag, even though I'm paying for the delivery anyway! However, once I got through (the wait was fairly long) the customer service was good, responsive and informative. Once the switch to 6 weeks was properly explained, I decided to keep my subscription for now.

Cancelling my subscription was made nearly impossible with their maze of a process. When I actually finally got through to the agent I was told I was rude for telling him I didn't want to hear the sales pitch and I would like to just cancel the account.
Transparent customer service
I spoke with James from Coffee52 today regarding cancelling my subscription. I signed up for my first coffee box through a Vodafone reward and had planned on cancelling any ongoing subscription. However, following my chat with James I am going to try a further few coffee boxes and keep my subscription running for a while. He downgraded the subscription so I’m not over ordering coffee and also changed the payment date and the time window between deliveries. This has convinced me of the value of the subscription and seems definitely worth the money now! Much closer to supermarket prices and (fingers crossed) much better coffee!
