I f I could score zero I would, unhelpful staff system you cannot log into and staff not telling the truth to get you off the phone when you eventually get through!

Applied for partial retirement Oct 2025 giving 4 months notice as employer requests. Never heard anything at all from them. Rang Capita was on the phone chasing 2 hours 50 to be told you have moved to the retirement team didn’t know anything else absolutely useless

Worst company out there hours wait on phones if you get through staff not fully trained to help with your query

Capita is a company supposedly specialising in Pensions. When they took over administration of the Civil Service Pension Scheme on 1/12/2025, affecting 1.7 mlion civil servants, it quickly became apparent that they could not deliver a service of any reasonable sort. Their new pension portal for members has been unusable from day one, and is not fit for purpose.
The telephone help desk is of very little use.
Meanwhile thousands of retiring civil servants are not receiving their pensions on time if at all.
I personally have been retired since 10th April and have received no documentation on which to make my pension claim. My capita portal login contains no information of any use.

Horrendous treatment of thousands of civil servants forced to beg for their pensions, being delayed by tactics like asking repeatedly for identifying documents. A pension that should have been automatically paid either at the pension age or early if requested. This is utterly unacceptable. The "portal " is not functioning. The company is an insult.

It's almost 7 months since I retired from the Civil Service and I'm still waiting for my pension. After 34 years in the Service I feel so let down by my former employers and by Capita. If my standard of work over the years had been even a little as shoddy as Capita has proven to be I'd have been sacked. They have a lousy track record for at least the past 10 years. Why on earth were they given the Civil Service Pensions contract? They don't reply to emails. They have no real information to give via phone calls. The Portal isn't fit for purpose and has no information on it apart from my name and my former employers details. I can see my beneficiaries but cannot make any amendments despite many efforts to update details.
They are absolutely crapita!!!

Why does the government keep awarding this company contracts?
I have experienced nothing but incompetence and disgraceful customer service from Capita since they took over the handling of Civil Service pensions. My pension is due and I can't get any information from the portal which is either not working or showing nothing. I have applied to get a quote from them, so that I can claim my pension which is due soon, and have heard nothing! Now, according to their timescales, it will not be paid to me on time

Thanks to the mess Capita, have made of the CS pension, I’ve had to delay going partially retired, after 40+ years service.
I’ve got friends & colleagues who are living on the breadline waiting for what is rightly theirs.
Capita should be held accountable and the government should be stepping in to have this arm of capital disbanded.
They’ve agreed the the cancellation of the RM contract.

Sorry I could not give minus stars. What an awful company! I am one of pensioners whose pension is "administered" by this joke of a company. I should have had a pension quote beginning of Nov 2025. It is now May 2026, no quote no pension and thre only communication received is apologies. NOBODY there gives a damn, I am learning to survive on fresh air! Absolute disgraceful company.

If I could give a minus score I would , left in January 2026 Capita still delaying even the simple task of getting a quote for pension hold no hope for any payment soon or the correct amount being paid as they have messed up other retired civil servants pensions a truly awful firm never held to account certainly not by any government who gave these inept fools the contract

What does one say about Capita and its handling of the civil service pension scheme, shambolic, useless, clueless, inept are some of the more polite words I could use. How is that a civil servant who has retired are waiting months and months for their lump sums and their monthly pension payments, this debacle is leaving many in hardship and all they get in response is excuses. Capita must be raking in the interest on all this cash they are hoarding and not giving it to who is meant to have it. You have to start the process 6 months before you plan to retire and they still cant get it done and sorted, a task any other pension company can arrange and put in place in half the time. CAPITA a complete joke run by clowns.

Absolutely appalling.....has seriously let me down and my employer. Communication non existent. CONSTANT DELAYING TACTICS. TOTALLY INCAPABLE. All this in the age of AI. Avoid like the plague

I should of retired 26/01/2026 but I have yet to receive my lump sum and pension. When you try to ring them you can be waiting for up to 4hrs only to be fobbed off. I have sent over a dozen emails none have been answered. Even my MP has contacted them and they have not received an answer. This is the most incompetent firm I have ever dealt with.

Beyond useless and liars to boot. Nil communication, took a poor situation and made it a whole lots worse. Why anyone would give them a contract is beyond me

Lack of communication . No response to portal queries. Very long wait for an answer to phone calls . This company is a disgrace and should not be allowed to operate . So many people affected by the incompetence of Capita .

I have been waiting since March 2025, as I was awarded Ill Health Retirement, then.

i have continually been fobbed off by Capita, since they took over the contract for Civil Service Pensions over 5 months ago.

Capita have not provided any paperwork or my long awaited money and they do not care!

My health is getting worse by the day and Capita just tell lies and keep getting away with this.

Hang your heads in shame for all the distress you are causing many thousands of people that have given many years of excellent service to their communities & country.

Capita took over administration of the Civil Service Pension Scheme on 01 December 2025. It is now May 2026 and they still do not have a functional Pensions Portal. When you can access it, all you can see is your name, your employer's name and the name of the beneficiary. There is no information about annual benefit statements, or when the pension calculators will be available for us to use - reliably - to choose our retirement options. Time is moving on - I would like to see my options!

Not even worth 1 star. Absolutely appalling company , constant lies re pensions, takes hours to get through buzz word is escalation but no explanation as to what it means cant get a straight answer. No replies to emails. Can't speak to a manager ever. Would not recommend this company in any shape or form.

An absolutely useless company who cannot process pensions. I have been waiting months and months and months for my pension . they never correspond with you and don’t even think of trying to phone them unless you have three hours to waste to receive no information from the person on the other end of the phone. how this company is still trading is beyond me.
