CanaDream RV - Montreal Omdömen 

Nous avons récemment loué un VR-MHA pour nos vacances. À notre arrivée, nous avons eu l'agréable surprise de découvrir que nous étions les tout premiers à utiliser ce véhicule. Il était impeccable, très spacieux, avec ses 33 pieds et sa double extension. À ce niveau, rien à redire.

Par contre, nous avons été déçus par le lit principal. Contrairement aux photos présentées sur le site, où l'on voit un véritable lit Queen avec matelas, notre modèle était muni de coussins formant deux lits simples qu'il fallait réorganiser chaque soir à l'aide d'un coussin supplémentaire pour créer un grand lit. Le confort était malheureusement très insuffisant : les coussins étaient très fermes et on sentait les coutures ainsi que les espaces entre eux. Nous avons même dû acheter un surmatelas afin de pouvoir dormir convenablement.

De plus, chaque matin, il fallait complètement démonter le lit et replier les coussins pour avoir accès aux armoires, ce qui devenait rapidement contraignant lors d'un voyage de plusieurs jours.

Enfin, la conduite du véhicule nous a également déçus. Le VR demandait des corrections constantes au volant et donnait l'impression de se déplacer continuellement dans sa voie, ce qui rendait la conduite très fatigante, surtout sur de longues distances.

Malgré un véhicule neuf, propre et bien aménagé, ces deux aspects — le confort du lit et la conduite — ont eu un impact important sur notre expérience. Nous espérons que CanaDream pourra mieux représenter ce type d'aménagement sur son site ou envisager des améliorations afin d'offrir une expérience plus conforme aux attentes.

Great service, super vehicle! The only minor niggle - don't bother with the wifi router if you going into the country - there's no coverage.

We rented an RV for just over a week to make a trip to the Gaspé for my late wife's funeral, and honestly, it really provided us with a trip that was calming, tranquil, and therapeutic.

It was easy, problem-free, and the staff were great at both ends.

The pick up was done very quickly and with wonderful service.The RV rented was clean and almost new. The only negative comment is that the dishes are stored in a way that they move around. The cabinet door should have a lock so it doesn't fit open. As a new driver to a large RV, I would have appreciated a little heads up on how much the steering and control could be affected by wind and other vehicles on ten highway. Other than his, we lived the experience. Thank you

Very enjoyable two weeks in our Super Van Camper, collected from Montreal. Staff were helpful and efficient and could not fault the quality of the vehicle and the cleanliness.
As a suggestion, it would be helpful if vehicles could be provided with a full tank of fuel and then returned with a full tank (usual procedure in car hire) which would take away the challenge of trying to ‘guess’ a quarter of a tank prior to return.

Dommage qu'après avoir effectué une relocation d'un VR de Montréal à Calgary j'ai eu la surprise que les 500$ d'avoir sur le fuel incluent dans l'offre ne serons jamais dû... J'ai pourtant eu l'information deux fois oralement, et confirmation de la part de la personne avec qui j'ai fait le départ que j'avais juste à garder les reçus et que ce serait réglé lors du retour à Calgary sans problème.
Depuis, malgré avoir contacter les deux agences par téléphone, ils ne font que se renvoyer la balle chacun de leur côté affirmant que celà n'était pas inclus dans l'offre.

I have been to different countries like Iceland, Norway and Scotland and rented RV’s. There was always stress and dissappointment. This is the 3rd time i deal witn Canadream and there is NO stress, NO problems and excellent service. Love Canadream

The fuel gauge display error. I put gas 50 dollars more. Canadream not gave me back.

Très bonne expérience dans ce camping car, il est spacieux, facile à conduire, tout l’équipement est prévu (selon option), la réception et le retour se font très bien et rapidement avec un personnel très sympa

I was the first to use this RV, so I felt very privileged to have a brand new unit. Unfortunately the TV was either not plugged in or broken, so I was unable to use it as I could not access the plug behind the panelling. The reversing camera was so blurred it was useless. The power sockets and microwave did not work when running off battery or 15amp, this was also inconvenient as I was doing quite a bit of free camping.
I did create a hole in one of the roof extraction fan sky lights and the staff at the Halifax branch were amazing in getting me back on the road, but could also not fix the above issues.
The unit was lovely and clean on pick up, but the crockery and glasses bouncing around in the cupboards was a little alarming.

Très beau voyage de 30 nuits dans les maritimes. Le VR (trunk camper) était presque neuf. C’est notre cinquième voyage avec ce type de VR et nous sommes toujours satisfaits. Nous avons roulé plus de 6100 km et la moyenne de consommation d’essence diesel a été de 14.5L/100km. Le service de Canadream est très professionnel. Nous sommes toujours en sécurité avec eux. Nous avons déjà hâte à notre prochaine réservation.

The whole process from booking to return of vehicle was seamless. The help line personnel were exceptional.

This is an excellent company to rent from. This was our 3rd rental (twice in Montreal and once in Halifax) and we've been very satisfied every time.

a) The vehicles we've gotten were never more than a year old and the last one was brand new. All have been extremely clean and come very well equipped. Basically everything works.

b) Your degree of satisfaction will be entirely dependent upon how carefully you read ALL of the rental information. DO NOT skip any of the material or you risk disappointment. READ EVERYTHING...AT LEAST TWICE. For example, we met a couple who had not read the sections on Northern Surcharges and places you are not allowed to drive to; they only found out about the charge at pickup and since it wasn't in their budget they had to shorten their travel itinerary. We also met someone who hadn't read about the charge for using the generator.

c) Read the operating instructions (available in PDF format on the website (they do give you a hard copy at pickup). Unless you specifically book a demo ($) at pickup you are basically on your own; you get no more instruction than when you rent a car. We've had CanaDream renters approach us on the road asking how things work.

d) Other tips: take the Platinum Plus plan and the insurance liability reduction plan. (Stuff happens out on the road).

e) Another tip: Unfortunately the electric cable for shore power is only about 10 meters; be aware that for some campsites, especially some provincial parks in Ontario, you almost need twice that length to reach the power post. We met a family that had to buy an extension cable.

f) More: The Ford truck used for the SVC is comfortable to drive but only has a very basic dashboard: it has a complicated Sony radio with no NAV. It had CarPlay but you need a USB cable.

g) Finally, in comparing notes with people driving CanaDreams and RVs from the "other" large rental company, we found CanaDream customers were more satisfied with their RVs. The "other" company's RVs were not as well equipped, were missing things or their service was lacking.
