Positive experience using the services provided by Camino Ways. Luggage transfer was a breeze and accommodations stayed were adequate and satisfactory less one or two which did not provide basic ammendities such as disposable cups. Other than that, no regrets with Caminoways.

Overall great experience
Camino Ways made the logistics of our experience so easy! Not having to personally do any of the hotel bookings or luggage transfers was fantastic. The ease of check in and customer service along the way was also fantastic.
I would have liked for the accommodations to have been more consistent, one night we may have been in a nice boutique hotel and the next something more like a hostel. While the differences weren't substantial it was noticeable.
One other thing that could be improved is the google map. It is not very user friendly - all of the routes are on one map and you cannot filter by route and google does not actually navigate the route for you. We noticed on the second day that the Camino Ways route did not alway follow the camino arrow/tiles which led to us walking more miles that anticipated because we were following the posted arrows.
All in all, I would still recommend Camino Ways but would love to see them make some improvements.

Recommend - reliable and good
Completely reliable and fuss free operator. The hotels that they booked were really well curated and superior. Thoughtful where the hotels in some smaller towns include dinner and larger cities didn’t include dinner.
Locations of hotel were superb except for 1 or 2 nights where it’s located slightly further (can be tiring after a days walk) but compensated by the hotels being good.

Camino Assistance
Having the hotel reservations booked and moving the luggage was great. Putting a 73 year old lady on the 3rd floor in a hotel with no elevator after walking 8-10 miles is NOT a good idea.

Many traditional buildings along the Camino don’t have lifts, so we encourage travellers to tell us about any mobility needs when booking, so we can request lower-floor rooms where available. We hope the memories of the Way and your arrival in Santiago are what stay with you most.

The opening stage from Ferrol passes through the town and along the estuary, so there’s more paved ground at the start of the Camino Inglés before the route moves onto quieter rural paths. We’re sorry some of your accommodation fell short of your expectations. We hope the green Galician countryside and your arrival in Santiago are what stay with you from your journey.
Great communication with the company
Great communication with the company. Two things let it down, they booked us into Hotel Millan in Nigreira, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The other hotels were great. The other let down was the google map for finding the Camino route, I just couldn’t download it and so I kept having to follow the link they sent us. FYI We were doing the Camino in reverse and it’s very difficult to navigate, I wouldn’t recommend doing it.

They were very present when needed, and to us, that was very important. We booked last minute for a busy month and they were still able to book very nice stays even when some were not considered “superior”. A great experience, highly recommend Camino Ways!

2 hotels had bed bugs
2 hotels had bed bugs. Due to multiple bites, I required medical care and suffered with skin irritation for mire than half the pilgrimage.

Overall the experience was excellent. I appreciated the ease of the luggage service and having breakfast and dinner provided. Several of the hotels were excellent. However, I was not 100 percent satisfied with what felt like less than superior accommodation and food at one or two of the locations.

Camino ways took any worries or doubts about accommodations away. All of the hotels they booked for us were friendly and clean. They shlepped out luggage to each destination and never lost a single item.
Communication through the entire process of booking was also top notch. They did great, 10 out of 10!

The hotels were nice
The hotels were nice. 2 of them were very out in the middle of nowhere …. Itinerary really didn’t describe the steepness of the hills on what you described as flat hike trails.. we did the Portuguese hike on the coast. Only one day was coastal. And the first day from Baoina to Vigo we hiked 12 miles before we had a rest stop. That was inhuman. Then another 1.5 miles to beach where we could swim. We passed many beaches we could have stopped at to rest and swim and cool off. It was 90 degrees that day. Maybe it’s the guides decision how we do this but it was really awful.
Again the steep hills and rough terrain of rocky trails for miles etc… were not honestly described in your tour guide….
We did meet great people. The monastery was an interesting place to stay. The pools were not hot springs as described ….i did hurt my knee and leg by third day straining on the very steep hills so the rest of the trip I was limping and just trying my best to get through each day .
Maybe I will try it again someday

We had a blast. Caminoways made it easy by arranging all the hotels and luggage transports. One hotel in caldas de reyes was quite disappointing but others were good and clean. Breakfasts were included and quite standard. The hotel in Pontevedra was palatial. All in all our experience was full of laughs and happiness and just a couple of “whoas” which made the experience even more memorable.

A great package again from Camino Ways
Great support from Camino Ways staff with an itinerary we needed to tailor for different needs within our group. The R1 hotels were overall very comfortable and characterful and/or had excellent facilities and friendly staff. Taxi and baggage transfers went really smoothly. One star off for the fact none of us could access or download what might have been very useful guides, as the Cicerone guide book recommended options which turned out to be higher and longer without stating this.
