Scottish power are not serious about…

Scottish power are not serious about getting their customers on a Smart meter.Appointment booked for between 12pm and 4pm on 31-10-2025. SMS at 2:30pm to say not "Unfortunately- Blah Blah" , no appogy, no explanation, no compensation. Wasted day as I cancelled appointments. Whole day spent emptying kitchen and hallway for easy installation access as requested. Ended up putting all back. Not sure if my new appointment will be hounered. Fingers crossed

Terrible company constant cancellations

Terrible company. Trying to get my faulty electric meter fixed, I'm stuck paying whatever it last read before it broke. Initial wait of a couple months for engineer to visit start of September, they called last minute to say it wasn't happening. Rearranged end of October, likewise. Got a text new appointment date of 5th Jan 2026. I have no faith it'll happen then either.

Don't worry about the inconvenience of…

Don't worry about the inconvenience of having smart meters fitted. Calisen deal with this efficiently and effectively by not attending your appointment in the first place! They don't even have the courtesy to tell you. I wish I'd Googled prior to emptying our stair cupboard in anticipation. Unfortunately you can't give zero stars. To think they have the balls to say they'd charge YOU £40 for inconveniencing them!

The abuse I received from a calisen…

The abuse I received from a calisen employee that was working on a neighbours property was aggressive and intimidating. I would never recommend a company that uses employees like that.

I echo everyone elses reviews..

I echo everyone elses reviews... Repeatly booked appointments and no one turned up. My favourite was today when I had a cheery call from the fitter asking about parking and telling me he'd see me in 15 mins. 20 mins later a call from Callisen, saying that it had been cancelled. Impossibly hard to contact them. The fact that the tell you that if the customer cancels on short notice you will have to pay £40 is galling.

Probably the worst firm in a long while

Probably the worst firm we have experienced this year. Unreliable, appointments cancelled at last minute after we’ve waited in, the remade appointments a month ahead. It has taken 6 months and 5 visits and still no fully working smart meter. It seems Ecotricity only use Calisen so its a monopoly we can’t escape. Hopeless.
On a positive note, the engineers that called were friendly, pleasant people.

The man texted to let me know he was 20…

The man texted to let me know he was 20 minutes away, arriving just over half way through the four hour time slot. He was very painstaking and put in a backing board for another bit of the equipment that lacked one. I live in Devon. Maybe problems people are experiencing are down to area.

Seamless smart meter installation

I was very surprised to read all the negative reviews for this company as our experience was very positive. The engineer Don texted me the night before to double check his arrival time and parking. He arrived on time and was very friendly and polite. He explained everything he was going to do and asked if I had any questions, which he duly answered. I work from home so needed to know when the power would be off. He worked safely and quietly and notified me when to shut down the power, which was only off for 15 minutes. He did both gas and electric meters on behalf of Utility Warehouse. Once everything was commissioned, Don explained how to use the mobile control unit. He was at our property for 2.5 hours and did a great job. It's a shame to hear that this level of customer service does not run throughout the business.

I started to think it was just me,being…

I started to think it was just me,being appalled and shocked beyond about the customer service and total lack of communication from SP regarding the meter check at my home,by these Calisen people,they could tell me nothing on when these guys would turn up,I had a 3 week time frame,that came and went,contacted SP,told to phone Calisen,endeless emails to SP,I’m sure they use a respond to template that covers everything and just change your A/C nbr and name,I was horrified reading reviews but I’m not alone at least and comments from reviews honest I can relate to communication and frankly trust is out the window completely,I’ve had a smart meter for years and it works,readings go direct to SP,it plugs into a socket and if/when these MI5 Calisen men in black turn up at my home,they are getting no where near my plug in smart meter.I find it ,as I’ve said ,beyond truly shocking any energy company can continue to use these muppets,trust pilot is the best consumer tool ever invented .i cannot be certain on date this saga started but its went way past the original 3 week advised time scale

Had a really lovely Calisen employee…

Had a really lovely Calisen employee attend my property this morning. He called prior to getting to the house, was on time, talked me through what he was doing, was incredibly polite and helpful.
Would highly recommend - thank you

Should be 0 star review

Like 99% of people here Calisen failed to turn up to replace our meters today. About time Scottish power started using another company instead of this shambles. The fact Calisen fail to respond to any reviews speaks volumes for their abject failure to attend appointments.

No show, no apology wasted day off work AVOID DONT GET A SMART METER IF YOU DONT NEED ONE

Took a day off to wait for engineer to turn up to fit a smart meter in my 85 year old mothers flat. 3 minutes before 4 hour slot ended phone call to say they weren’t coming. Wasted a day off. Won’t reschedule - them and Scottish power can whistle to get a smart meter fitted in her flat. When I read about them here and online seems one missed appointment is nothing. What a sham.

Disgraceful company and customer service.

This company are continually cancelling appointments made with us to change our electricity meter at our property home.. This company has made appointments to change our electricity meter for Scottish Power, several times only to cancel them at very short notice.
The latest cancellation was this evening, at 7 PM, for the meter change requested by our electricity supplier, Scottish power... The date today is 9th September.
The cancelled appointment was for tomorrow,,,10th September 2025 at the times of between 10AM and 1400 hours (2PM)
This is unacceptable
This appointment for the meter change was made with us on the 8th of August 2025. Over four weeks ago.
This is probably the 4th appointment we have had cancelled.
After cancelling our appointments, they inconvenience us again days later, by telephoning us again to make yet another appointment,,,that they can cancel again..
This is getting very annoying,,
It seems other customers have been inconvenienced also,.. .. I have made a complaint to OFGEM. Because this is very unprofessional.

SCOTTISH POWER AND THIS COMPANY RE-- ARRANGED FOR ME TO HAVE MY METER CHANGED ON THE 19TH SEPTEMBER 2025 ,,AND YET AGAIN ON THE 18TH SEPTEMBER 2025, A DAY BEFORE,, AS ALWAYS THEY TELEPHONED ME YET AGAIN,, AND CANCELLED YET AGAIN.,,,, UNBELIEVABLE,,,,,,.

I had a smart meter fitted I can honestly say the service was 10/10
A lovely man called Faride came to install for me ,he was so professional.
Talked me through everything he was doing and gave me lots of information about how it works etc .
Arrived within the time frame specified and be worked so quick ,a credit to the company .

Calisen and British Gas

An engineer from Calisen came out on behalf of British Gas on the 6/6/25 to commission my smart meters. The engineer was at my property less than 30 minutes and couldn't wait to leave. Needless to say the meter still did no work hours after he left.
Calisen called me again on the 20/8/25 to arrange yet another appointment to commission my meter. It was booked for today (1/9/25) between 08:00 and 12:00. The engineer failed to arrive or to call me to explain why they did not attend. This has gone on since March of 2024 when the meters were installed. Up to now 5 appointments have been made with various engineers on behalf of British Gas and the meters still do not operate as they were intended. They give various excuses why they can't get them working including signal issues although my next door neighbours meters work faultlessly. They even tried to use my broadband connection to operate the meters but they said that didn't work. Obviously the meter/meters need replacing but they don't seem as if they want to do it. On all 5 occasions i booked holiday's from work using my annual leave allocations. 5 days wasted. Both British Gas and Calisen are the worst companies to deal with in my opinion and experience.

Don't waste your time

Firstly you have next to no chance that they will pick up the phone when you try to contact them. I've wasted hours of my life listening to the same 2 minute music loop that I think I'm losing the will to live.

Secondly, they don't show up on appointments so you'll be waiting the full 4 hour time slot 'just in case' and the fact they won't contact you to let you know just infuriates you even more.

On my 4th Calisen visit today and have been waiting 30 minutes on the phone to see if they can confirm they'll turn up today.

Avoid this company if you value your time and sanity.

Update:::

Once again it was a no show. How this company are still getting contracts is beyond me. Another 4 hours wasted after getting it confirmed, admittedly by the lady in India, that they would turn up.

How long to swap out a dead electricity meter...?

We have been waiting for this shower to replace our dead electricity smart meter since Jan this year. So far they have cancelled THREE appointments on the day they were supposed to attend. On one occasion they didn't even bother to reach out... just didn't show up. Bloody useless.

Calisen employee pretending to be from Octopus Energy

A man came to my house yesterday wearing Calisen branded clothing. He said he was from Octopus Energy and had come to read the meters. I didn't let him in and contacted Octopus. I have video and photos from my doorbell camera which I sent to Octopus. They confirmed the man does not work for them and, if they needed a meter reading, the person would be wearing Octopus-branded clothing and would present identification before asking to come into the house.

Very friendly and intelligent meter engineer called Joel, has done an excellent job we are very satisfied with the job done, everything was done very professionally, we would be very pleased to see him again with our gas meter job
