My first email regarding the byte tag not working correctly was April 16th. I keep getting errors when I need to verify your email address. There is a link to contact us well I get an error with that too. I finally got them to answer an email and they were working on the problem. I paid full price for the product & only half of it works. Today is April 28th and it's still not working. Save your money buy a product that works.

My dog has been wearing his ByteTag for almost three years now, and I’ve always just assumed it would work if he were lost. The other day, I was trying to show a friend how cool it was, and tried to scan the QR code on his tag, and it didn’t scan. I’ve been trying for days now… different lights, close up, far away, different camera settings… nothing. I have no idea how long it’s been NOT WORKING, but I’m pretty mad. Finding something different ASAP.

Have not used this product since 2024. After MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS to cancel the subscription, it’s still going out as of Sep 2025!

Customer service is non existent! Good luck getting a live person & if you do, they still do not help!

Bought ours in fall 2022. By about a year later, the information on the tag had worn off. They are useless.

ByteTag and their team have come a long way since I first purchased my tag back in 2022

Their prices are great, the support is awesome (shoutout to Taylor!) and their new silicone tags are impossible to ruin over time (compared to the 1st gen plastic tags which would scratch)

Also love the additions to the app and how the company is improving their line-up and designs over time

Byte Tag. Lasted 4 months maybe less. I just happened to notice now, before the QR code became so scratched and unreadable. Style: attached to collar. No idea how it could get so damaged so quickly on a collar for an inside mainly dog. Poor product.

Purchased a tag months ago, worked wonders, wonderful quality for tags/service. Warranty fulfilled wonderfully following the tag breaking. No problems at all talking to customer service. Nice representatives for the company. Will be a lifetime shopper with Byte Tag. 10/10

I love the concept of ByteTag. It's the modern way of tracking your pet when lost without needing to insert a chip into them internally. It's easy to use and looks great. The only feedback I have is on the durability of the tag. My dog has chewed it up twice and would like to see them come out with something that is indestructible or at least dog bite resistant. Customer service is great and fast as well!

I have several byte tags since 2022 and the fact that I can have multiple tags assigned to one dog is nice, because I take him to daycare in the morning and my husband picked him up in the afternoon. This means we each have to have our own leash and collar, so no matter who has him if something happens on the way home he has an ID on him.

Yes, I think it took a while to get them, but they came. Also I tried the competitions as well but they would only allow one tag per dog.

I use it in conjunction with my Fi Collar.

Byte tags are useless. My tag wouldn’t scan so asked for a return immediately. This request was ignored and I was asked to send a photo of the tag.

They replied and said the tag won’t scan with apple products and the company claim it’s a fault with apple and don’t want to take any responsibility for incompatibility.

I’m not too worried about the $10 I paid but a poor product I wouldn’t feel confident someone could get my contact info from if my dog was lost. Even worse is not wanting to rectify the issue and passing the blame.

Forget buying a byte tag.

I'm with Brian. I put in an order on November 24, 2024 and it's now January 16th, 2025. I ordered 4 tags to be used for holiday gifts and to date have not received any products. Never got an update on status or follow up. I've emailed them SEVERAL times with no response. And, there's no phone number listed to call (how convenient). I'm very disappointed and will also be putting in a dispute with my credit card company as they charged my account immediately after ordering.

I put an order in December 4th, 2024 for two tags. My account was charged the next day. It is January 8th, 2025 and still have not received the product or any other communications. Further more their contact email doesn’t work. I’ve gone as far as to message them with their Facebook page. They read my messages a week ago, but still have not responded. Seems like a scam company to me. I am disputing the charges.

We LOVE this company and product! Customer service is outstanding, they responded to an email request for a replacement tag within a few hours. Bytetag replaced the lost tag without question and the replacement arrived super fast. The level of information you are able to provide regarding your pet is fantastic, much more than a standard ID tag. We're also super impressed with the slidetag model, and have them for all of our pups (Malamutes and Huskies). We're very thankful we've not experienced a lost pup, but are confident in Bytetag's protection for a quick ID to get them back home .

Cheaply made. I’m so happy I only spent $10 on this because it is so cheap. My dog who I walk and doesn’t do anything crazy. Got him a slide tag and it broke within 2 weeks. Apparently you can’t get a refund but yet they will keep sending you one. If you want to add subscribers that will cost you money as well. Definitely save your money I’m sure there are better products out there for your money!

I originally ordered one of these tags for my dog when I first got her four years ago. I ordered it because the quality and ease of use was phenomenal! They also offer a free replacement. Should something happen. That is for the lifetime of the tag. Well, four years later, the tag broke off. I contacted the company expecting a hassle after four years. But not only was there no hassle but they were so patient with me. They sent me Discount code for the free tag. I kept forgetting to order it, so the code had expired. I contacted them again and they sent me a new code. I forgot again. The third time I contacted them, I thought for sure they would have said too bad! But no… I was greeted with kindness and understanding. These Byte Tags are the best thing ever… Waterproof because my dog loves to play in the water!!! And because the one I had ordered was plastic covered, it was silent and not clanking around when she ran. It has been so nice having the peace of mind that if my dog gets lost, whoever finds her will have all the information they could ever need. On the app, which is really easy to use, you can put in the veterinarians name, their chip number, Your name, phone number and address and the name, phone number and address of two additional family contacts for the dog. I can’t say enough good about this company and hope that everyone will get one for their animal. Thank you so so much for being so great!

Great Experience with them. I'm not understanding why there are so many negatives. For one complaint saying the tag isn't tracking their animal. I don't think that person understands that someone has to scan the tag to get the info and then you are contacted. As for my experience, dog lost his tag somewhere and unable to find. I sent message (wasn't that difficult to find out how to contact) if I could get another tag at reduced price. They wrote me back within a day or two and said he would give me the tag for shipping only. When I ordered, it charged me $5 plus shipping. So I gave a lower review to them directly. They contacted me and found it was a mistake (they were using the price and type of tag I had gotten my daughter for her dogs). They reimbursed the $5 very quickly.

Love my dog’s Byte Tag! I love that it’s rubber and doesn’t jingle, and as a not-so-great-with-kids- dog, to be able to add that into the info when someone scans if he were to go missing makes me so happy to keep everyone safe. I also love that when between two houses I can load all the info on to contact us or return him if he were to get away. From a data storing perspective, it’s a great way to keep track of vaccines, microchip number, or other info.

They also were SO kind to give me a discounted tag when my dog lost his chains the first time. I was ready to pay for another and they had fantastic customer service.

I love byte tag! Not only is it great for my pets, if lost, it has a life time warranty. My husky got out and went for a stroll and I was able to find him (playing happily in a group of kids) a few blocks over because someone scanned the code! It was so easy. We have the silicone tag and unfortunately my dog decided to checkout a skunk. Luckily he wasn’t too bad but BOY does silicone absorb all the skunk smell. I emailed ByteTag to see if they had any recommendations how to clean it but they let me know about the lifetime warranty and I just had to pay $3 for the shipping. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Received a ByteTag for my dog as a gift and after a year and a half it fell off, I’m assuming from natural wear and tear. I contacted support about a replacement and Taylor was so helpful and efficient and within minutes provided me with the warranty information and a discount for my free replacement tag, I just had to pay shipping. Appreciate the product and the great customer service!

I love ByteTag! My dog ruined his tag! When I emailed asking about a different style for the replacement, Taylor responded quickly with a yes. So easy to set up, and knowing I have such a great support team, if I need them, is very reassuring! I even ordered a second one for my friend. A great price to pay for the peace of mind!
