Bunk Campers - Greater London Omdömen 

In the past, we have used Indie campers in many different countries. But they gave us trouble in England, so we are glad that we switched to Bunk campers. Everything was very smooth during pick up and drop off. The only issue we had was that the location was so far from London. However, it did work to take several trains and then an Uber to the farm location. Then on the way home we took an Uber right from the bunk camper office to Heathrow —that was about 89 pounds.

The camper van was a good size, and we always appreciate being able to stand up in it and to have a spot to pee at night andbefore getting out at each location. Maintenance of the van was easy. I would not recommend getting a camper van any bigger, as the narrow A and B roads in England are challenging enough. It is good that bunk campers does not keep security deposits due to the typical hedge scraping on the side of the windows — that is just inevitable in these narrow roads.

Driving tip in England: don’t always follow the Google maps version that often wants to take you on shortcuts down one lane track roads. Stick to the A and B roads. And of course, all the M highways are easy.

We love this new camper van that we had, as it had many storage spots and was easy to live in for 12 days.

Very happy with the motorhome and the friendly service

Given a much bigger van than expected, with one double and bunks instead of 2 fixed double beds. When queried at pick up, was told this was within the Vista plus spec, and wasn't shown a second double bed (which would have needed making up). Spent 5 nights on narrow, uncomfortable single bunks. Tried top bunk but high ladder was difficult for me - expected the same layout I'd had previously. Not what I paid over £1000 for. :( Check the small print. Even my email confirmation referenced '2 fixed double beds' after pick up, which stung! Used Bunk 3 times now, I won't book with them again unless I can guarantee 2 fixed double beds.

From the start, the tutorial and demonstration of how to operate all facets of the van to the support during our trip and the fast return process, everything was very professional. They even picked us up and dropped us off at the nearest train station which was very much appreciated. One of the best decisions we made on our trip was to hire from Bunk Campers. Well done

Nice and competent service. The van was propper clean and almost new. Everything is well mentained.

The camper we rented was in great shape and the process of renting went super smooth. Keeping things in check and operating the vehicle was pretty straightforward and for us, as first time users was super easy to navigate. We highly recommend the company, the holidays were an unforgettable experience!

The motorhome we hired had a problem with a leaking shower and a broken pipe below the sink. The shower was then impossible to use on our vacation.

On collection of the van, the bike carrier was missing 2 clips to hold the bikes, the chairs in the outdoor furniture had seen better days.

The bathroom window was cracked and not possible to open and close properly and the window filled with water.

Compliant raised, though largely ignored as we didn't scan the qr code and raise issue immediately. Struggle to see how the on road support team would have fixed the issue when we were on the move in Europe and not interrupt our vacation.

Disappointing customer service.

We would not hesitate to rent from Bunk Campers again. We rented a Bunk Campers "Vista" for a road trip around England and Scotland during the last two weeks in August. It is a Fiat Ducato with a pop up roof. It was big enough to sleep two adults in the main bed in back and a 17-year-old and 13-year old up in the slightly smaller but still surprisingly large bed up in the pop up. Originally our teens were going to swap out in the pop up but decided that the bed was big enough for both of them. The fridge, kitchen sink, and bathroom accommodated us well for ten days. The seats where the 3rd and 4th passenger sit while driving are fully upright and not very comfortable according to our teen children. Yet it was not a deal breaker, they still enjoyed themselves. The camper was nearly new and in great condition. The pop up was temperamental and most mornings I had to help the kids close it because even though it looked closed, an alarm would sound as soon as I turned the ignition key to leave. It sounds like the latches are electric and closing it slowly and carefully then pulling down with a little pressure so the latches can engage seems to yield the best results. The diesel engine had plenty of power to get around. It could be squeezed into a regular parking spot if there was room for the rear part of the vehicle to overhang past the curb. In other words, if there wasn't a place for a car to park behind the camper, it was fine. Such as when you back into a spot somewhere around the parking lot perimeter. Parking in UK is a challenge for any vehicle and preplanning is required for something this big, 6 meters long. We actually rented driveways and spots at shopping centers while we checked out certain tourist attractions like Stirling Castle which doesn't allow RV parking at the location and the park and rides are closed on Sundays. I recommend RV renters search out the parking apps online for help. They may actually even find you free parking, even in the height of August tourism. Our check out and check in went pretty well. Staff were professional and helpful. A Bunk van came to the local train station and picked us up. We were on our own to get back to the train station after our trip. Bunk provided a card for the local taxi and that service was prompt and easy enough. I doubt we were at the Bunk Campers London site for a full hour for either check out or check in. As good as our experience was, a few things that may have made it a little better. 1. A vehicle owner's manual. While Bunk is great at providing videos for use of the RV part, I had to search online for items like how to open the engine hood and what is that button on the dash for. I never did find the right owners manual for that particular Ducato. 2. The dishes rattled loud. I recommend some way to pad them or consider plastic ones. 3. Some hand towels and wash cloths would have been a nice addition to the linen rental. 4. A general surface cleaner would have been nice with the clean up kit.

We rented a Roller Team Zefiro which is supposed to accommodate 6 well it would if 4 of them were small children.
On arriving at Toddington to collect our vehicle we were shown the wrong RV, when we did get the right one it needed cleaning and a broken table fixing before we would take possession, (pretty sure we would have been charged for that had we not spotted it) A kitchen cabinet kept popping open whilst we were driving, we ordered the complete package including bedding, towels etc, 1 towel was missing from the package, within 100 miles of driving the shower door fell off, we reported it immediately and were told someone would contact us, but of course that never happened either, which meant we were resticted in the campsites we could visit only using campsites with shower blocks, their is a board over the bottom bunk that fell onto a friends leg causing a deep 4 inch gash to his right leg and a hospital visit, we were not warned of this board or even know why it is there.
Lastly upon closing the side door the plastic handle snapped off, we notified them of this but again to no avail, when we returned the vehicle we had to explained all the issues again.
The deposit was refunded in full within hours only for us to find they had then invoiced and charged us for the door handle, even though we were told it is a manufacturers defect and was a regular occurance on this model and surprise surprise they had the parts in stock, would we recommend Bunkers possibly would we recommend a Zefiro absolutely NOT

The whole process was easy, the camper was perfect, the bed was comfortable, the shower was refreshing the kitchen was enough - I wish we had it for longer! We picked up from london and dropped off in Edinburgh which was also easy and gave us more options of where to visit.

No pick up available at the station as advertised. We had to find a Uber in the middle of nowhere. Checkin was most disorganized ever. Employees not knowing what to do. Not at all recommended.

Close to Harlington train station, was able to get a short taxi ride. They could consider offering a free pick up service from that station. other than that great service, fully explained how to use the motorhome for first timers and everything worked well.

Another great experience with bunk. A special thank you to carmen at the London depot. Me and my younger daughter were flying in early and she got us away in the camper before the official check in time of 2pm. She helped with this last time and helps massively when travelling with a young child. Camper was in great condition and drop off was seamless.

Really excellent service from collection to drop off. The RV was very well maintained and almost brand new. We really didn't want to hand it back. Probably one of the best holidays we had.

I was worried from the reviews about deposit delays, however my deposit was back in my bank within hours. There was some slight confusion about some damage from a different vehicle, not ours, but that was sorted without any issues.

One technical. We were off grid most the time and the campers aren't set up for that. The fridge didnt have a gas option, so that was heavy on the battery. I did request a gas fridge, but I assume one wasnt available. Small thing though.

I will definitely use Bunk again, cant fault them, Really good service!

Amazing friendly staff. Need to have a better system for check in and returns. Very hectic and no added stress needed with the fear of penalties as add ons are already expected.
A few things were missing which was a real inconvenience. Only 1 tablespoon in the cutlery. No tea spoons. 3 forks and 4 knives. Family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Hose lock adapter missing. Had to ask other campers to borrow theirs. Grey waste hose too short.
Requested 3 x double & 1 x Single duvet sets. Only received 2 x double. Very inconvenient as the mystery van we had had 3 x double beds.
Had an amazing time in the highlands of Scotland and would definitely use bunk campers again.

We had a really great time with this Motorhome, we were super lucky as we picked the mystery option and ended up with a brand new stunning motorhome which we thoroughly enjoyed, I put 1600 miles on it in a week, stress free as it’s unlimited mileage and the collection and return experience was super easy and convenient.
Would definitely recommend this company, very professional setup with a fleet of new models and great service!!

They weren't able to give us the van we booked as it was broken, so my 6ft 4 husband had to sleep in a bed about a foot shorter than he was tall for 10 days. Varied customer service about this. Ann Marie was great and very helpful. The person who did our check out (blonde lady in Toddington was helpful). The man who did our check in was not helpful.

Terrible experience. Motorhome was quite new and initially we were happy but once we were on the road it was not the case. The motorhome had a fridge that did not work properly and froze all of our food twice. There was no TV, the hot water only worked intermittently, two blinds didn't go all the way up, there were no manuals or instructions for anything. I tried to contact customer service while we were on the road and no one replied. We were talked into an insurance package we didn't need and if we didn't go with their insurance they would have taken $5,000 AUD out of our bank with a 30 day refund of money. We hired linen and it didn't fit the bed properly. Food left in the fridge from the previous customers. The bathroom was filthy, hair all over the shower floor, toothpaste splatters on the mirrror and the shower door didn't close properly. On return I sent 3 emails before someone replied and basically I was told "sorry for the inconvenience and we are looking into it"
Not good enough. Absolutely would not recommend

The Camper itself was clean and well appointed

Unfortunately th handles to the on board bathroom fell of within 5 miles of picking it up.
The wheel alignment was so Bad that I had to continually drive with 30 degrees down on the steering wheel.

Customer Brieffing was not sufficient for first time campers which resulted in our inability to get the Hot water working

The QR code for camper information was not available and the videos were not specific to the camper

The bus that was supposed to pick us up from the train station was broken resulting in additional cost for us with a taxi
