Be Patient

Whilst it wasn't a seamless transaction, taking into action the current position the country finds itself in. i believe Boroughbox are doing the best they can. i had issues with delivery but managed to strike up email dialog with the support team. one person in particular was very helpful. the delivery arrived a few days later than expected, but hte parcel were as good as i was expecting......thank you for your hard work it can't be easy at the moment.

Awful and very disappointing

Awful and very disappointing. Ordered this box for our Christmas conference. 2nd bottle was not included and fudge was smashed. Zero replies to emails, tweets and phone calls. Impossible to contact customer services and you will be ignored when you try. I had to escalate through my employer who spoke with their corporate contact. A replacement (a cheaper bottle of Prosecco) was delivered only after corporate contact got involved. Still no fudge replacement. Awful service! I only ordered because it was a company thing. Would never use again.

Extremely disappointing quality

I have used borough box once before for a hamper and was really impressed. Being a huge cherry fan I ordered 2 jars of sour cherry and walnut jam costing £6.50 per jar. To say the jam had no taste of cherry would be an understatement. It was in fact the complete opposite of sour, just an extremely sweet non descript flavour. Very disappointing. Won't be using again as items not cheap and they don't always live up to their description.

Lovely beer and snacks

I ordered a box of beer with snacks for my brother in law, the website notified that there were delays with yodel so I did expect that it would probably not arrive on time. It was a few days delayed however my brother in law was so pleased with the box and has commented numerous time on how good the beers are! All in all a very good experience, I would just order as far in advance as you can given the busy time of year.

Poor customer service

Tried to place an order and per paypal payment has been completed and made to you however your website then showed a message that the order was unable to complete. I have emailed twice and also left a message over the last 2 days but have had no response so now idea if order has been completed or not - really poor customer service.

Avoid - They've taken my money & just given me stress !

I ordered a significant value of goods 14 days ago and currently haven't had the products or any indication of when I might receive them. Queries get a standard response saying they'll be delayed but no indication of timescales or apologies for the delay or stress this has caused -the email just tells you to be patient- like its your fault for not being patient enough !! I'll be attempting to get a refund via PayPal.

Read the reviews and safely shop through Paypal

All I can say is thank goodness they offer PayPal. Ordered on 3rd (far before they stated any delay) order came and I was missing a hamper. Impossible to contact through phone, email, facebook, Twitter and ever PayPal! When I did get an email it was very blasé- telling me not to worry the package will get here before Xmas they had just forgotten to send it (?!), I’ve replied and attempted to get some sort of tracking for this but again nothing. Dudes it’s fine if you can’t deliver things I’ll have my money back but please don’t lie to me and make me look cheap on christmas morning. Looking online they had this problem at easter and Christmas past so honestly save yourself the aggravation and hassle and go somewhere else. SHAME

I’d like to add they then said if once my goods are here I’d like to remove this review! Because obviously if they get no more custom that is my fault for my honest review not their service?

'Phone lines off, and social media unmonitored'

EDIT: Still trying to get a refund on the 18th January (over a month since I raised a complaint).

I placed an order for my Nan's 80th birthday and was relying on Boroughbox to provide a hamper to celebrate her birthday, which considering I am unable to visit on her special day this was very important to show thought and care.

I ordered in plenty of time and noted the date in the delivery notes - even paying extra for Saturday delivery if it landed on that date.
It didn't arrive last Saturday which has caused disappointment and embarrassment.

In 'my account' it still says 'still processing' and I am unable to get in touch with the company as they state they have turned off their phone lines, and aren't monitoring social media - shocking and absolutely despicable!

I note they have added a caveat stating they are behind on orders, however I placed mine before this was shown - so I would have at least expected a courtesy call if it was difficult to fulfil. The fact they have made it impossible for customers to contact them is possibly one of the worst customer service I have known in a long time.

Please avoid and opt for a company with customers at the heart of their business. I'm currently trying to get a refund, and have had to write a groveling apology to my Nan trying to explain why my present to her didn't, and still hasn't arrived.

Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Package never arrived and no customer service available. No tracking despite having paid for tracked delivery and payment has been taken in full. Scam.

Not what I ordered.

I ordered 2 Advent calendars.They were about £75 each. The day before despatch I was told that there was a problem with ONE of them and instead of being days 1-24 it would be 2 x days 1-12, apparently a printing/supplier error. WRONG!!!! BOTH calendars were 1-12. I had ordered 24 day advent calendars and specifically NOT 1-12s. It was too late to cancel & re-order. I was offered a 15% discount on my next order for the 'inconvenience caused'.
I was unhappy plus the parcel was damaged and some items missing. I will NEVER use BoroughBox again, I am disgusted. A total rip-off!

Package never arrived! Very unreliable.

The hamper I ordered never arrived and is, I'm assuming, missing!
I ordered a hamper as a birthday present on November 13th to arrive on December 11th. Even with a month to prepare, we were left disappointed. I've emailed as per the company's request - not through phone or social media, which is odd and suspicious - but have yet to hear anything. They have warned that orders are facing a delay of up to 7 days (although I ordered a month in advance) so not sure it's worth the risk.
Hopefully it still turns up but I worry I may have to chalk this up to experience. So much for supporting local! Very unreliable.

Item wasn’t delivered! And they don’t let you complain!

Was supposed to get a hamper for my birthday on the 5th of December. It’s been 5 days, nothing was delivered. Try to contact them, but no one answers my e-mails. Tried to call, it’s an answering machine. Left 3 messages, but no one called me back. Being completely ignored by them!

Waste of time, no communication and no delivery.

Ordered a gift for a birthday and used the pre-order date to specify when it was needed. The order didn't arrived yesterday when it was due, and hasn't arrived today. I received a shipping email at 10pm the evening before it was due to be delivered, but the courier website still shows the parcel with the sender. No response to my email to Boroughbox on their requested email address for queries. First and last time I use them. If you want something delivered when you need it, don't go near them.
UPDATE - They did reply apologising for failing to deliver having changed their delivery policy between my order and the delivery date, and have offered a refund of the delivery charge, but I can't see me testing their services again.

Never arrived

It’s been 1.5 weeks and I still haven’t received anything. While you advertise delivery within 3-5 days, when I reached out, I was suddenly advised standard delivery could take up to 10 days from the day the parcel was dispatched (not ordered!). Seems a bit dishonest to me and if I don’t receive anything within the next couple of days, I want my money back!

Very disappointed in the service

Having placed my order some weeks ago, I was very disappointed that it failed to arrive on the appointed date. This was a special birthday gift and under current lock down circumstances its absence spoilt the party. I can't comment on the contents as it has yet to arrive. Would not recommend Borough Box in future.

I can’t remember the last time I was…

I can’t remember the last time I was this pleased with an online order from a company I’ve not purchased from before. This is a Christmas gift and the addition of the magnetic box is perfect. The products within the box are great and I know this will be well received on Christmas Day. Thank you Borough Box!
