Disgraceful service

Disgraceful service. I ordered a non alcoholic box and out of 5 items recieved 2 were containing alcohol! The delivery was okay took about 2 weeks with Xmas and covid but contents extremely disappointing. Emailed start of January now end of January and no response. Also called and left phone nunber etc on message but still no response!

Amazing Customer Service

I ordered a couple of things shortly before Christmas, one item got lost in transit so I contacted customer support and got an immediate response and received the missing item the next day.

No stars... Just awful experience

Any business using this company really should think twice. Shocking service and unsustainable I am still waiting resolution from my order placed on 6th DECEMBER 2020....... they acknowledge it was never delivered but have not returned my money..... If you like uncertainty and risk place an order.

Nice Christmas gift to receive

We received a lovely Christmas hamper full of cheses, olive oil, fizz, pate, chutney and other nice things, from a family member who couldn't get back home this year due to the pandemic restrictions. The big box arrived well before xmas, and it was a lovely gift to get. The contents are all very nice (but not all eaten yet). I might use this company myself if we need this sort of service ourselves. We're very happy.

They have really killed their company…

They have really killed their company with terrible service (just look at the Google star rating of 2.5). Placed orders for over £1000. Had to end up getting a credit card chargeback as the order was never dispatched.

Not trustworthy and non-responsive

They don't deliver on time and do not respond to emails and calls. It has been more than 1 month and still no correspondence from them. Truly incompetent and poorly run business that should be set up to service Christmas orders and deliver on time given the type of business (online) it is supposed to be.

High Quality Products But Service Needs Attention

We placed 5 orders, total value >£160, for Christmas Gifts during December. Whilst the quality of the products were good, and appeared to be greatly appreciated by all recipients, BoroughBox disappointingly ignored requests "to deliver as close to Christmas as possible" and, in other instances (specifically WRT French Conte orders), the displayed delivery guidelines were misleading. BoroughBox state that "If you’ve had any problems... we are always here to help!" - well, 5 weeks later, we're still awaiting a response to our email of 09/12/20! We'd certainly think twice about ordering from BoroughBox again unless we were completely relaxed about when the items arrived (unlikely in the event that they are gifts).

A slow start but now up and running

I was given a 6 month chocolate subscription for Xmas. Bought on 17 Dec and first delivery arrived yesterday 12 Jan. I guess Covid & Brexit can't have helped with a speedy dispatch but I can understand the pressures both issues must cause. Chocolate is good so far and I look forward to my next 5 deliveries.

Awful…

Ordered a hamper for my sisters birthday months ago to arrive on a specific date. Order wasn’t delivered on the day, no correspondence to say where the package is or why there has been a delay, received an email to say it’s now been shipped late but overall disappointing- don’t order from here

Dreadful company

Dreadful company. My aunt used this company to purchase my Christmas present. It was ordered on the 13th December within the delivery by Christmas timescale, it was not received. On 5th January I had a bill from Royal Mail as the company had not paid enough postage (despite taking the money from my aunt for this). The item was delivered on Friday but instead of receiving the champagne and chocolates ordered and paid for by my aunt I received a bottle of non alcoholic wine. Company are not answering the phones or emails. Advise you to avoid at all costs particularly as I've now read a review below that thinks the company has gone bankrupt.

15/01 update. Received a response from Boroughbox claiming they are replying to emails. Well they haven’t replied to the email I sent them on Monday however, unsurprisingly they have replied to both the negative reviews written on here and Facebook.
Firstly, and thankfully for all people who have used this company they state they are not bankrupt so hopefully you will all get your ordered items or your refunds eventually.
The company is still a complete shambles. Their reply stated they didn’t sell non alcoholic wine. I used the link in their reply which took me to their site and typed in ”Noughty” the product i’d Received and they were correct, it is sold by another company. I then typed in “champagne and salted caramel chocolates” and there came the product my aunt had ordered. This one is however clearly displayed as sold by Boroughbox. How then can I receive a gift in their box (the one in the picture on the website) which contains a product sold by a completely different company and not sold by them. Nothing adds up with this company. Completely avoid.

We don't sell non-alcoholic wine and we don't ship many gifts with Royal Mail so I don't think that this order is ours, it may be one of our marketplace sellers though - either way we can help sort it for you.

Good customer service

Had an issue with a pre-Christmas purchase. Emailed the customer services portal and received a reply and a workable solution very promptly. Got the impression that the company is doing all it can to help customers impacted by difficulties in December.

Ordered a food Hamper on 12th December…

Ordered a food Hamper on 12th December as a gift for delivery on 22nd December to the recipient. Received an email on 22nd December citing that the order may not arrive before Christmas.
No response to the email I had 'submitted' chasing for an update on order.

In fact I was informed by the recipients the gift did not arrive until 5 January 2021!
Despite the 'update' emails (citing the reasons for any delay to my order), I had received, I do not think the Pandemic can be the root cause of what appears to me are significant supply chain/logistics issues.
I would love to have been able to recommend BoroughBox - unfortunately I can't.

How hard can it be to deliver an online gift card?

I sent a gift card on 20th December, £50 was taken from my account on 21st and I received an email that the card had been delivered BUT IT HAS NOT. I have left numerous messages on phone and email but these are never answered. This is a terrible service and I regard my £50 as having been stolen.

Christmas Scamper

Ordered an "Artisan Celebration Cheesecake" on 12 Dec for delivery to my brother as a Christmas present and it's still not arrived nearly a month later. Emails and phone calls aren't answered. Just pathetic.

Update: BoroughBox have since been in touch and have given me a full refund.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE

I ordered 3 vegan hampers on the 11th Dec 20 as part of the Christmas gifts going to my colleagues. I ordered 3 hampers from here and 72 from another provider. The 72 arrived with their recipients no issues at all, but the 3 hampers have yet to be delivered and it is now the 8th January. We have had no communication other than to be told there are delays but these are generic emails to all customers and we have had no specific information as to where our packages are. Then we got an email from Parcel Force saying there is a parcel on the way, but it has no tracking info and no parcel arrived on the day specified. I have tried calling but I cannot speak to a person, only leave a voicemail, and I have email 3 times and had no response. Unbelievably bad. Avoid at all costs. 3 of my colleagues have now been left with no Christmas hamper. BAD SERVICE.

I placed orders on 10th December 2020 for Christmas gifts to recognise the efforts of two amazing indivuals who held my business together whilst I was suffering from COVID.

These orders have yet to be fulfilled, and due to poor comms I have no idea when or indeed if they will be received. Fear I have lost £200

Utterly shocking. Please avoid.
