Products great. Service less so.

Reply: Tried that one, the accounts one, Alecs number, corporate number and left message. You get the idea.

Corporate customer. Used on a number of occasions. Frustratingly difficult to get hold of anyone, email, phone messages aren't being returned.

Exemplary Customer Service

I ordered a subscription from Borough Box because it was the only place that had exactly what I wanted for a present - a mixed beer/lager/porter box with snacks. I had a few questions to ask and was dealt with quickly, politely and well. I found out everything I needed to know. They made me feel like my questions were no bother at all. It's so rare for a company to reply to an email within a couple of hours, I felt like they deserved to have it shouted from the rooftops. If only every company were like this...

Extremely poor service and zero communication

Extremely poor service and zero communication. I ordered on the 14th December and it didn't arrive until the 8th January! My email chaser sent on the 4th January didn't get a response until the 12th February! They then offered a 15% off voucher - as if I would ever order from them again! Seems to me that they got greedy and accepted far more orders than they could possibly fulfill over Christmas. So the result is a huge number of negative comments and a broad customer base (including myself) who will never use them again on principle.

Excellent customer service (and I'm sure boxes too!)

Despite having clearly suffered from unprecedented demand over Christmas (with pretty exceptional circumstances) and struggling to fulfill orders, their customer service team has since been extremely obliging with cancelling my delayed orders and refunding me (and been extremely patient when I became confused about which account my order had been refunded to... thank you in particular to Carlos for dealing with that one!)

Happy with my order :)

I ordered a Borough box for about 100 attendees of a virtual networking event. I thought the small box looked nice and the snacks and wine tasted good. It’s the perfect little treat for a simple -but of quality- networking event.

The feed-back we received from the attendees was also positive and included ‘thank you very much for the Borough Box - it made the networking over drinks and snacks feel more real!’. Someone shared a photo of the box on LinkedIn too.

Very happy with service

I ordered a Gin and Tonic hamper for a friend for her birthday and I had a very good experience with my order, and I am very happy with contents. Communication between Lisa and myself were excellent. She did her best to reply to emails regarding queries. I was also impressed in how quick the parcel turned up. Ordered on the 6th of Feb, and parcel arrived on the 10th of Feb.
I will definitely be ordering again. Thank you! 😊

After a hiccup in the payment process, which was my fault, Borough Box went the extra mile to delivery my order ASAP and the recipient was very happy with the contents!

Excellent service

Ordered this for a birthday gift. There was a hitch on the payment going through so wasn’t delivered on arranged date. However this was resolved by Lisa who added two extra cans of beer to compensate which was much appreciated by my nephew! A great present.

Appalling customer service

UPDATE: After a second email and posting this review the company have been in touch with a promise to resend the second box, refund the additional postage incurred and ensure the 3rd box is sent correctly. I can’t seem to remove this review but am posting this update in fairness to Borough Box who, I am hoping, have satisfactorily resolved the situation.
If I could give no stars I would and I really regret using this company. The products are good however their customer service is appalling. I ordered a 3 month food box subscription ( at a cost of £100) for my sister in law which was addressed by them to the wrong place (actually a mix of my address and the recipients so unsurprisingly the delivery company couldn’t find the address) I emailed twice and phoned Borough Box several times leaving detailed messages but had no response and ended up having to sort it out with the delivery company myself and pay £10 to have it resent by Royal Mail to the correct address. Despite checking that the address details on my account with their site were correct, the second box has also now been sent to the same incorrect address and it looks like I will have to spend time liaising with the delivery company to have it resent at my cost. I am at a loss to know how to contact this company to elicit a response and sort it out. I assume that the 3rd box due to be sent next month will also be wrongly addressed which will cost me yet more money to have resent. I cannot understand how a company can value their customers so little that they will not even respond to emails and phone calls. They cannot blame the pandemic as they are clearly there to take orders and pack them. I strongly recommend NOT TO USE this company.

BIRTHDAY GIFT

I ordered a gin box for my daughters birthday. She was thoroughly delighted with the box, except that one of the bottles was broken. I contacted Borough Box immediately and are sending another box to her.
That is what I call service.

Delayed delivery, wrong address, poor response

I ordered a hamper on Dec 15 as a Christmas gift for my family in Scotland. The hamper finally arrived on 21 January at the wrong address (at my home in London). I had written several emails to try to get tracking information without result. The Yodel tracking data finally available after delivery showed that the the parcel went to Glasgow, stayed for a week in a depot, and then the Yodel tracking info claimed a new address had been received, and it went to London.
In my subsequent emails to borough box, I asked for the parcel to be collected and refunded ..so far they have offered only a coupon towards the transport cost of future orders. When I said this was unacceptable, the staff member, replied that he agreed it had been a 'massive delay' and he would 'pass it back to the right team and get back to you ASAP'. That was on Jan 22 and I have heard nothing further from them

Terrible experience and customer…

Terrible experience and customer service!!
I placed an order mid Jan for a birthday present. Delivery advice said 3-5days but may be postponed a couple of days due to CoVId. I took this timeframe into account to ensure the item was received by the time of the birthday late Jan. Money has been taken from account but still have not received the item. Have emailed customer services twice with no response and tried calling numerous times with no one available to talk. Shocking and so disappointing as food item ordered looked delicious on the website

5 Stars for the Products

I can't vouch for the products personally, because the three orders I have placed have all been presents. However, I can say that the recipient in each case was very happy! For products, then, 5 stars.

The reason I have given 4 stars is that there was a glitch, which meant that I wasn't able to place an order and I didn't receive a reply to my original email, though, admittedly, it was at a very busy time of the year. Once communication was established, the support was excellent and I will certainly be placing future orders.

It is an amazing company

It is an amazing company. Have bought 2 boxes already and both scored 100%+. I highly recommend this company and shall purchase again. They make a beautiful, unusual and unique gift. The recipients of mine were over the moon with it. Gorgeously presented. A fabulous present.

Great Experience

I have to say that my experience with BoroughBox was absolutely amazing! From the beginning their customer service representative Rebecca was so communicative and really quick in answering any of my questions. They did a really good job and I'm definitely going to use them again :)

I am so disappointed with Borough box

I am so disappointed with Borough box. I ordered an annual subscription for a colleague, he moved house and despite having changed the address the box has been delivered to the wrong address every month for the last 5 months. Borough Box have ignored my plea to sort this out and I am currently paying for goods not received. Such a shame not to be able to support the artisan suppliers but this is an amateur outfit and I would not recommend to anyone.
