Big Bus Tours San Francisco Omdömen 

This was a fun ride, but the bottom level of the bus was warm and not ventilated. Also, the seats were a little small. I visited San Francisco on an unusually warm day.

A great way to see a new city. All tour guides were very entertaining and knowledgeable. I had added on the Sausalito tour, but this part was confusing. I was not aware I had to change buses on Sausalito, so missed out on that tour altogether, meaning I ended up 4 times going over the Golden Gate Bridge!! If I'd had more time I would have done the whole tour once, then gone round again hopping on and hopping off. There is no guarantee a bus with empty seats will be able to pick you up soon once you hop-off. They make this clear on the bus. It gets VERY busy at certain places. I missed seeing a few stops as I only had 8 hours - yes, it takes this long to even see a fraction of the places! Be prepared!

We had a great time on the tour! Dave, our tour guide, had a good mix of humor and education. We learned a lot in a fun manner. Omar the driver, was awesome! There was a need to make a short detour due to a traffic issue, and he made a u-turn on the road - that's impressive! Thank you Dave and Omar for the fun experience of your tour.

We took the tour of the city of San Francisco on Saturday morning, May 26th from your Stop #1. We chose to ride on the top of the bus. Immediately your bus guide, a large man with an extremely loud voice came to to the top of the stairs in front of us to narrate the tour. We certainly did not need headphones!! He tried to attract the attention of everyone we passed on the streets, singing, making loud noises and annoying everyone while thinking that he was funny and entertaining. He kept saying that he was a "Nerd" and cared absolutely nothing about any sport. We should have been smart enough to get of that bus and take the next one. But unfortunately, we stayed on board for the entire tour.

Due to an event at the civic centre the closest stop to my hotel was not in use. However there was no sign at the stop to tell me this and I see on the bus GPS that the bus i was planning to catch had passed me. I called the head office and was told the bus would stop just around the corner and I was provided the cross street. I wait at the cross street and watch the buses on the GPS. Sure enough the next bus goes around me without coming anyway near the cross street I was told to wait at. At thIs point I decided to walk to the next stop. I phone again to verify that this would work and was told that that stop was also closed that day. Realizing the bus company wad completely disorganized I decided to go to the next stop anyway. I see on the GPS that a bus is heading to the next stop so I run to get there first. I arrive just before the bus and contrast to what I was told on the phone that stop was in operation. I get on about 3 hours after I arrived at the initial bus stop. I am only able to ride the bus for a short time before I have to go to my next appointment. The next day I go to the head office and ask for my money back. I fill out a form explaining the above and that I had very little time on the bus due to the miss information I was given. I get a refund a few weeks later but for only half the price I paid. Considering I lost almost the whole of my available time I think the least they could do was give me a full refund. I am very disappointed.

Great way to see the city. We hopped on and off in Chinatown, to see painted ladies and explore the city. You have to ride on top across the Golden Gate bridge. We included the evening tour, line p early for the best seats. We picked up right across the street from Fisherman's wharf.

Very good.
But very windy.

We enjoy our experience during the day tours and also had a lot of fun with Blake during the night tour!

When visiting San Francisco and using the Big Bus Tours the group that I was with had a wonderful time. The tour guide Donna (male) from Ireland and the bus driver Theresa (female) where both great at there jobs and very respectful and knowledgeable. I would recommend getting on this specific bus and riding for the entire tour before doing the hop-on-and-off.

Ticket sales lady at bus stop was not very helpful when the app froze and we had to pay our tickets twice. Later on we contacted the customer support and they made shure we got our money back.

First we had a bus, whith a live guide, but on one side of the bus, the audio didn't work. So the bus was changed. We waited for half an hour for the next bus to come. It was a bus without live guide. We got out, strolled around, and took one of the next ones, again it was one without a live guide. The route had been changed due to an event, but not very effectively, since we spent 1 hour stuck in traffic. During the whole experience, the audio comments were not synchronised with what we really saw. The music plaiyng between comments is horrible, always repeating an never-ending. A bad trip all the way :-(

Had a great time on bus around San Francisco having only one day it was a great way to see the city

Busses and drivers were good although some earphine ports faulty, and my biggest issue was the lack of live guides. I ended up hoing on 4 different busses and only 1 had a live guide.

We had a great time on the San Francisco Hop On Hop Off tour. Our guides on the first part were Tony and Chen. We got off in Chinatown, almost at the end, and when we got back on, we had no talk or explanations about where we were the rest of the way. Luckily we only had a couple of stops before returning to Fisherman's wharf.

Wir haben schon in anderen Städten Big Bus Touren gebucht und waren stets sehr zufrieden. Doe Tour durch San Francisco lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, allein schon wegen den großen Entfernungen und den schwierigen Verkehrsverhältnissen, wenn man das mit dem Auto bewältigen möchte. Die Sausalito-Tour haben wir auch gebucht. Auch diese lohnt sich, da man hier auch einen seitlichen Blick auf die Golden Gate Bridge bekommt. Die Nachttour findet eigentlich nicht nachts statt, sondern am frühen Abend. Wenn das Wetter nicht ok ist, lohnt sich diese Tour nicht. Die Fahrt nach Treasure Island ist sehr lang und kann sehr ungemütlich sein. Meines Erachtens lohnt sich der Blick auf die Skyline von San Francisco nicht, da auch zu weit weg!

Excellent Service.. Thanks for the wonderful road trip in SFO. Just a suggestion that it is better for the guide to be aware of the opening and closing of the various attractions. We bought a ticket for $100 for academy of sciences and found that it was closed.. Though we have been promised a refund, we could have easily avoided all these hassels had the guide been aware.

Bought the 2-day pass. Morning first day did the full circuit (red route) to get acquainted with the main sites. Note that if you board the bus at a point after the start of the route you need to get off bus at stop 1 and reboard another bus (at stop 1). I get the rationale for this but wasn’t expecting to have to change. Luckily there wasn’t a queue and we were able to board bus#2 and continue without waiting. Only disappointment was that we only had the pre-recorded commentary rather than a ‘live’ person, which is usually much more entertaining and informative (and up to date). And the quality of the audio was pretty poor (crackly and broken up lots of the time)

After lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf got the bus again, this time with the intention of hopping on-and-off at places of interest. This time we did have a ‘live’ commentary on the first hop and he was very good - can’t remember his name (but he had lip piercings if that helps!) Entertaining and informative. Excellent. On the down side, don’t rely too much on the bus every 15-20 mins claim. We had that sometimes; but on others had to wait 30+ mins.

Second day we did both the Sausalito tour and the night tour. The guy on the Sausalito tram was a bit of a character- good fun as well as informative. And takes a mean photo of you and yours with Golden Gate Bridge in background from the Sausalito side!

The night tour was disappointing. It was cold in early May (don’t sit upstairs in early May is my advice!!) and the stop point to take photos across the bay to SF pretty uninspiring, but the biggest disappointment was the ‘live’ commentary. OK, I know I said earlier that live is better than pre-recorded- well, this is the exception to the rule- the young lady in this case (again, can’t remember the name) seemed more interested in polishing her improv act than imparting much of interest to us tourists from around the world. English is my first language so I ‘got it’ - but ‘it’ wasn’t very good and heaven knows what non native English speakers made of it all.

So, a mixed bag really- get a good live commentary and it’s a 5 star; get the crackly pre-recorded one and have to wait 30 mins for a bus and it’s a 1. Get someone practicing for the Comedy Club when you’re upstairs on a cold SF May night and it’s 0.
